My Easter nails!
Lea G.

Just moved to the Chesapeake area and found this nail salon that will now be my go to. There is never a wait, plenty of staff, clean and pretty atmosphere. They provide snacks and water. They have sooooo many color options and are priced competitively. I have never had any issues with my nails since going here. They are so fast and so good.

Looks are deceiving. Very pretty, bright, and generally clean space. Better than most, on the level of mass-turnover nail salons. But here are some notes, in hopes that someone in management will make some adjustments to provide a quality experience: - Making an appointment really just means "call-ahead seating" to get higher on the (long) list. My appt was for 12:00. It was for Mani/Pedi/Wax, but waxing was not an option in the reservation, so I put that in the Notes. - I didn't get called to the Pedi chair until 12:30, and no one came until 12:50. They sat four of us in Pedi chairs at the same time, and we all just waited with bare feet and pants rolled up for a long time. It was cold!! Then I was done with both Pedi and Mani by 1:45, so that tells how rushed both services were. Others who went to the Pedi chairs at the same time as I were waiting barefoot for well over 30 minutes. - First time there. No one explained to take note of the number of my preferred the color from the rings on one of the walls, and I didn't see any bottles to grab. I still do t know how that's supposed to happen upon check-in. so when the Pedi tech asked me what color I wanted, I was basically stuck with a bottle that happened to be near my chair. - The polish is essentially like glitter glue that I will now have to get changed. This could all have been avoided if there were signs or instructions, or a person explaining their process. - I would have preferred the Mani first, but no one asked, and there was no one to tell (check-in is electronic). - "Cheese grater" used on feet, which is no bueno. I didn't think these salons still even did that. And I'm not confident that tools are kept sanitized; the techs carry them around in a metal flip-lock case. - Very significant language barrier, which again could have been mitigated by written instructions on processes, other than the Pedi menu. - I was moved around between services with no idea where to go next and had to explain twice about the additional waxing services I had "reserved". - Bring cash, and bills for tipping!! There is an ATM, right near where I took the photo from. I truly hope you enjoy your experience, but I was on the verge of angry the whole time during mine, not just for myself but for others. Pretty sure I didn't come across that way though, because I know the staff are doing their best, Bless their hearts! And yes, I did tip generously. It's not their fault. Sad face. - I will not be back. For me, it's definitely back to the much higher priced but better value of services at the spa near Regent U.

This place is wonderful. I went here for gel nails today, and they turned out wonderful. The vibe was fantastic, and the workers looked really dedicated to make each customers nails look so nice. My nails looked like a 10/10 once they were finished. I don't know how to thank these people. They were very friendly and focused. Coming here again soon!

This review is from my daughter's bestie. Steer clear of this place. I came in today with the intentions of getting a soak off and a full set. That is exactly what I asked for upfront. When I sat down, the nail technician proceeded to use pliers to pull off my old acrylics. In doing so, he ripped the top half of my nail off. I started to bleed and he poured something on it that made it sting and started dabbing at it. It hurt so badly to the point where I got extremely lightheaded and started seeing stars and could only hear ringing in my ears. I got up to use the restroom to calm myself down and when I came back he proceeded to use the drill on my nails after I asked if we could skip over that one. At this point im feeling like im going to pass out andI told him so. He brought me a water and they told me to eat a cookie which then made me throw up. My friend helped me to the bathroom and I drank some water and when I calmed down I opened the door to the trash can that I threw up in and my nail technician told me to clean it out and rinse it. Literally left in tears. Worse experience ever.

First time here and I'm glad I tried it. The place seemed very clean. Excellent ambience and very pleasant and polite staff. The pedicure looks goods.

Emily is fantastic! I needed to get my hands and feet done...baaaad! Kudos to the last nail salon that did my gel mani at (s/o to Soka Beauty in Montreal, Canada) because that lasted 2 whole months. My last pedi was done in FL back in August so it was definitely TIME (don't judge, life is BUSY)! I called just before 5pm on a Saturday and they were still taking walk-ins so I headed straight over. The salon was pretty full on a Saturday evening. I was assigned to Emily and what a nice lady! She told me that they stop taking walk-ins at 5pm even though they close at 7pm so I was lucky! For the next 1.5, almost 2 hours, she worked on my feet first and my hands next, exactly the self care that I needed! My thumb nail had cracked and ripped in the middle, so she patched it up the best she could with some nail glue and finished up with the gel polish. You couldn't tell! The polish job on both hands and feet is very neat and pretty much flawless. We had a great convo throughout the appointment. I am pretty chatty so she was nice to engage. Notes: - they take debit/credit card - there is an ATM on site, I think she said the fee was $1.00 but don't quote me on this - like I mentioned before, last walk-in on a Saturday is at 5pm, so if we apply the same rule on any other day, they must only take the last walk in 2 hours prior to closing. I would just call ahead! Don't forget to practice some self care and check them out! The prices were pretty reasonable too! Stay safe, Friends!

Kathy is amazing! She did a great job removing gel polish I couldn't, without damaging my nails:)) Took great care of me!

It was the fantastic staff, great service and affordable prices that have kept me coming back. A friend of mine guided me to Skin Renaissance after she had to deal with my barrage of skin complaints. I'm not getting any younger and being a mom now leaves little time for self care, which is required now more than it used to be. My sweet friend kindly gifted me some credit to use and I stopped in last week. I had initially been considering botox, but thought it best to get an expert's opinion. I made an appointment with their NP, Suzanne. I arrived a little early to check in and complete forms. After completing paperwork, I was invited to get a beverage or snack while I waited. They offer hand sanitizer in many locations and everyone wore a mask through my entire visit. They took me back right at my appointment time - also appreciated. My first stop was the Visia skin analysis room where Suzanne and I chatted about my concerns and skin history - I spent most of my teen years in a tanning bed and have a lengthy history of melanoma and BCC, some of which have been removed from my face. The Visia was insightful and allowed Suzanne to make recommendations based on underlying damage and redness (thanks, genetics!). I learned that botox was the last thing I needed, go figure! She offered some really good recommendations, starting with a compound topical which is already providing results in under a week! She also consulted with Julie, the owner, who made the same recommendations. All together, they spent nearly an hour evaluating and chatting with me - it didn't cost me a dime - but it certainly put me at ease to seek future care with them. I am due to return for a follow up and continue treatment and am super happy to go back. I'm already grateful to Suzanne for helping me to feel better about my skin in such a short period of time.

Well, whoever booked my appointment and chose my stylist chose to ignore my request and book me with a stylist who is a new grad. That was the first mistake. I went in there, asking for highlights and to go back brunette because my hair was auburn. So I wanted a simple brunette with a partial highlight to add a bit of dimension. Long story short, my hair has so many different colors going on, some parts are overly processed, and then the top parts were not lifted for long enough and are still very copper because she was very slow at placing foils. I was there for over four hours, and this is the result? And at the bare minimum, nobody should walk out of a professional salon with color stains all over their face. * My hair stylist was Gena Day * When I called about my concerns, the manager offered to have me come in and fix it but only gave me 1 time slot availability which was not a time I was available for. So she ended up refunding me 50% of what I paid. The crazy part is she didn't even agree that my hair looked like crap and she defended the work. I think it's simple to say there were mistakes performed and apologize. But whatever.

Extremely disappointed in the level of customer service and services provide by Neri! This salon is…read moreextremely over priced and the level of service provided is mediocre. Came in after Covid quarantine, for a platinum blonde growth and extension consult. I was charged $600 and walked out with a yellow band around my head. The stylist I saw didn't allow the bleach to process the first time, when she washed out my hair.I was left with a orange band. She then proceeded to add a second round of bleach. When I left the salon she parted my hair, where the yellow band was not noticeable. The following day I noticed the yellow band called the salon. I'm normally in the salon for 3 hours, as I a have been a platinum blonde for a couple years now, I was there for 4 for her mistake. I was scheduled for my extensions placement the following week and ask if I could come in and get them both done. Came in for the extension installation with the same stylist. Showed her the yellow band and she immediately got all defense, like I screwed up her hair. Her customer service just thrown out the window that I had to speak to the owner. I was then explain why I was charged 600, 150 by the hour. Because of the product and time it took. So not only was I charged for her mistake, they charged me for the extra time as well, ridiculous. Decided to give Neri another try despite our fall out to place my hair extensions. Horrible mistake! She has no experience, the foundation of my extensions fell a part in about 3 weeks expand. I had to come back for her to redo 2 out of 3 rows. I noticed that the top weft was cut short, didn't even make it to the last bead! When I was 7 weeks out I experienced, breakage off the 3 row. Talked to the owner and she had the audacity to tell me maybe my hair was to fine for this type of extensions after the fact I spent 1000 for the hair and placement. Like isn't this what the Consultation is for?? I also couldn't wear my hair straight, without you knowing I had extensions on. This place lacks experience in extensions, as they just got certified a year ago, then the pandemic happen = zero hands on experience!

I have no idea why it took me so long to post a Yelp review!…read more I have been a client at Color Splash for many years. I moved away for 4 years, but came right back to Color Splash, knowing I would be well taken care of. Timothy ordered hair extensions for my wedding; I was surprised how affordable they were, as I had never done anything like that before. Of course, he did my hair for my wedding- it looked fabulous! Timothy and all the staff are wonderful, caring and committed to excellence. I brought my little one in today for his first haircut at a real salon. Timothy was VERY patient, funny and engaging, despite the difficult customer in the chair!

Had I…read moreknown they have an F rating, I would have thought twice before driving two hours from Richmond for an appointment. I went to Heather Holland, who is advertised as a Master Stylist and Bellami Extension Certified. Unfortunately, this turned into an expensive and frustrating experience. I paid around $500 for extension services and color. Heather installed my I-tip extensions using the wrong beads, and they all fell out within days. I returned with the correct beads myself, but she used the wrong ones again, and the extensions fell out a second time resulting in a loss of extensions I had purchased for about $165, and both installations were a waste of time and money. My color also had visible foil lines--not what I expected from a "master" stylist charging top dollar. When I complained, Heather offered to replace the extensions with USED Infinity wefts that had belonged to another client who had moved to Florida and install them for me. She said they were worth around $500, and I agreed to that solution, despite feeling uncomfortable with the extensions having been previously used. Unfortunately, the scheduling problems continued. Heather acknowledged by text that her staff had given me the wrong appointment date and asked whether I wanted to cancel. I said yes, and we agreed that I would reschedule when I was ready for extensions. I was hesitant to go through the long drive and another exhausting appointment, especially because much of my previous three-hour appointment had been spent listening to her discuss personal issues involving her boyfriend. Heather agreed that I could reach out when I was ready, with no deadline imposed, and promised in writing to make things right. Now she is questioning whether she still has the replacement extensions and treating the situation as though I simply failed to show up. On October 29, I called to request an itemized receipt for my cash payments. Avery initially seemed willing to send it and confirmed that she had my email address. After a long pause, I heard a man's voice in the background that sounded like the owner, Timothy, speaking to her. She then told me the owner was not there and refused to send the receipt until he could review the matter. Weird! I cannot confirm why the receipt was withheld, but the interaction raised concerns about the handling of payment records. After the failed installations, poor color results, repeated scheduling errors, uncertainty about the agreed-upon replacement, and difficulty obtaining any receipt, I am seeking a refund of approximately $510. I expected much better service and accountability from a salon advertising this level of expertise. Beware of choosing ColorSplash, you'll most likely regret it.
