I recently broke the zipper on the best winter coat/ski jacket I've ever had. I had used Stitch It…read morethree times in the past twenty years. When I took it to Stitch It, they offered to fix it immediately if I wanted to stay and shop, but I chose to pick the coat up the next day. When I returned, I was amazed. They had a zipper in-store that was the exact turquoise of my coat and they had a zipper pull that was the exact colour as the grey trim on the cuffs. The new zipper/coat looked identical to what I had had previously. The staff member ai dealt with was courteous in every way and the price was way less than I had expected. In the past, I've put zippers into clothing as I know how to sew. I know how much they coast and how fussy a job it can be. I was most impressed with Stitch It and will definitely return. I highly recommend this business.

I had a shoe strap that broke, and I wanted to get it replaced with a small piece of white elastic…read more No repair was necessary to the actual shoe; the elastic would be a separate piece, just a small add-on. I went into this store to see if they could help me. The lady saw the shoe in my hand, and before I even got to the counter, said, "we don't do shoes". I started to explain that it wasn't a shoe repair that I wanted, but she repeated, more forcefully, "we don't do shoes". I got a couple more words out when she repeated it a third time, like I was an idiot. At that point I gave up, said "OK", and left. OK, I get it, they don't do shoes. But a bit of courtesy, and maybe even helpfulness, would have been nice. I have lots of normal non-shoe-related repair and alterations work that needs to get done. But I won't be taking it to Stitch-It.
