The creamy cake version tasted less sweet than the brûlée cheese and I liked it better. The zero sugar really made both of them so healthy ... just kidding!!! Lol! BUT ... it evened out perfectly with the brown sugar boba and burnt cheese topping. So good!! Decided to give this a try since I was in the neighborhood. Noticed that this replaced Ding Tea. In terms of décor it has a some seats available and everything has that new shop feeling to it. Things are clean and well maintained. The menu is located on a digital board with indicates which items have sold out. Customers are able to order in person or via an ipad. Decided to try the honey green tea with boba at 50% sweetness. The item was prepared fairly quickly despite having a fair amount of customers waiting to pick up their order. During the pandemic, one of the strongest urges, aside from going stir crazy, of mine has been a craving for boba tea. Maybe because the weather in the Islands is turning for the better? Or perhaps, the slightly bitter frustrations with covid has my palette longing for sweet, chewy, and cool milkiness. I've been on the hunt for great boba tea. Started with It's Tea, then went back to the regular Teapresso and Mr. Tea, then tried some new shops like Nio, Tea Home and Hana. For the most part, your standard Milk Teas are nearly the same every where. There's only some discrepancy in the flavor and variety of milk, fruit only, classic, and specialty teas. Boba is nearly the same everywhere as well, albeit some hold up better than others after an hour or two. None do well overnight (gets all starchy, hard and grainy). Brown sugar boba is much sweeter than regular, and not to my taste. Mini boba are a delight! And I'm a traditionalist, so no cream cheese foam for me! Hana Tea has been recommended by several folks I know, and has a slight lead above the rest of the tea shops I've frequented thus far. The boba, again, isn't necessarily the star. What is, is the quality of the teas and the variety! Also, the presentation of the teas themselves in the sturdy plastic cups that the Asian in me will probably reuse for smoothies or drinks I need on the go. Prices are standard. Ordering online is fast and efficient. Parking is ample. Would definitely go back again. Both the Hong Kong style milk tea (preferable for those who like a stronger tea flavor and slight bitter aftertaste) and the Passionfruit Yuzu black tea were impressive. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would LOL BEST boba shop on O'ahu!! And I've tried drinks from Ewa Beach all the way to Kaimuki & this is legit thee best spot for delicious brown sugar milk tea.. AND THIS IS MY FIRST TIME HERE. I got a brown sugar milk tea @ 25% sweet w/ boba & light creamy cake. Their boba is so chewy (how I prefer it) & when I say they nail the sweetness request, they do! This is probably my favorite Boba place. I will drive into town just to get boba from here. Recently my coworkers and I have been craving Hana tea so we have alternated driving down from Waipahu just to pick some up. It's is only online and phone orders right now which work for us because we can place and order before leaving Waipahu and by the time we get here it's ready. I recently tired the tiramisu Oreo foam on top of their brown sugar milk tea. It was good, though I prefer the brûlée cheese foam. Dieting sucks, but if you could only afford 1 cheat meal, it definitely has to be milk tea! Can I just say? I FINALLY got to try this place and I so get the hype!! I was previously warned the line usually goes out the door, but luckily when Yelp BFF and I were in the neighborhood, the queue wasn't too bad. (Since we went on a weekend, we chanced the street parking) We patiently waited, while the line quickly moved. I noticed the free wifi (YAY!) And then we were next in line. How is it that my family immigrated centuries ago from nearby Hong Kong and I've never had Hong Kong Milk Tea until today?? Mind blown! I get why there's a limit ... because it's so damn good! This is my second time to Hana Tea! The first time was during the time of their soft opening, so no one really knew about it yet and it was dead empty when I went. Since then, it's become a really popular place and I'm really glad to see it filled with customers! I decided to try their classic milk tea with small boba and cheese foam. My friend got their Hong Kong style milk tea which was listed as "limited" on their menu. I enjoyed my drink a lot! I appreciate that they offer small boba since there's not too many boba places that have it. I tried the Hong Kong style and I thought it was just okay. So I'm glad I didn't order that one. After you order they give you a table number so they can bring the drinks to you after. Oh and don't forget to ask them for a stamp card! Those are super important if you go there often :) I was a bit worried about going since I've read some yelp reviews about the long lines and the wait time... but I think I got super lucky! It was almost 4pm and the place was half packed... there was no line so I walked right up to order! I believe it's all timing! They do have a parking lot, but finding spaces can be hit or miss as the lot is shared with the other stores/shops nearby. I've was never enthused about the Boba hype. It seemed weird and the look wasn't something I felt compelled to go out of my way to get or take the risk of buying it and not liking it. But then, life is about taking risks, right? So my daughter was wanting Boba and a friend of ours recommended Hana Tea, the irony her name was Hannah. However, she said she personally hadn't tried it but heard good things and stated there was always a line out the door. We were in the area and decided to try it. There was indeed a line out the door. As the lined moved up, it was where we were finally at least getting inside. The vibe and décor is so cute! It just has this cozy place for, "tea time" vibe. The cashier taking the order was so sweet and patient. I asked for recommendations, which she stated the Brown Sugar Milk Tea was the most popular. Ok, lets give it a whirl. Post-Pandemic Review: You have to take your temperature while entering the business, there's only take out only at the moment. No dining in. So you can order your drink and take it to-go. If you order two or more drinks they give you a cardboard carrying case for your drinks. There's also the biodegradable straws that a kind of strong, it won't melt like the paper straws but it can get bend and broken easily in a long transportation ride after getting the drinks. I really like their brown sugar milk tea, I forgot to add the creamy cake and make it 100% sweetness because it would've made it taste better and sweeter. I was trying to be healthier by getting boba and 25% sweetness only. It still tasted good because they use real dairy with their products and the boba is always soft and sweet. The employees are quick, efficient and help remind you what to order if you haven't gone in a while and asked if I needed a carrying case when getting my drinks. Very impressive. My girlfriends and I are boba snobs because we're from the Bay Area. I've been to Oahu dozens of times but have never found milk tea shops to be up to par to what we can find in the Bay. One of my girlfriends found Hana Tea on Yelp and we stopped by after lunch. It's a spacious joint set up with plenty of chairs and tables for working or lounging. The decor is cute and chic -- quite inviting and relaxing. I ordered the Pineapple Black Tea which came standard with pineapple bits. It was really, really good. I added cheese foam and it perfected the combo. My girls loved their drinks also and we all agreed that this is the boba spot if we're ever in the area again. Quick service, decently priced drink options, and plenty of topping choices. Best boba place on the island! I heard the hype on this place and it lived up to the hype. The Hong Kong style milk tea was AMAZING!!!! I love my usual jasmine milk tea so I ordered that with adjusted sweetness. The quality of their tea is pretty good. Since you can adjust the sugar level, your drink won't be overly sweet. I haven't really gotten the opportunity to go through Hana Teas menu . Ive visited once which I think does not make me eligible to give them best review BUT I do want to review the drink I did get because I really do base my opinions on each boba spots classic milk tea. Their classic milk tea didn't have the iconic taste I was looking for. It wasn't very sweet at all even at 100 percent which I thought maybe ill try it at 125 percent and maybe id like it better. I really do want to try the brown sugar milk tea and a lot of other toppings they have because it sounds really good. Right now Hana tea is very in-between for me . The Boba itself was really good, chewy , and sweet. Definitely cooked properly so that's a big plus. I want to go back for a lot more soon so I can add more insight to this review! read more

There are SO MANY different topping options here!!! My best friend swears the creamy cake is the best, but I'm partial to the coffee jelly or mini boba. I may need to try their brown sugar boba sometime soon though ... it's been calling to me the last couple times I've ordered. i haven't been to Hana Tea in over a year and i forgot how good it was! their prices are VERY affordable compared to all the crazy expensive boba shops on the island, especially the ones in town. On our most recent visit my sister and I got the Honey Genmaicha Milk Tea and Brown Sugar Milk Tea, both with boba and cheese foam, less sweet and no ice. They had run out of the genmaicza and said it'd be ready in about 10 minutes. We waited for the tea to be brewed and the whole shop was filled with the deep green tea smell. The Honey Genmaicha was much sweeter than I was expecting even with 75% but it was VERY delicious. Neither the honey or genmaicha overpowered the other. the Brown Sugar Milk Tea that i got was also really good but nothing mind-blowing. It tasted like just a regular black milk tea, without a brown sugar flavor. The cheese foam was also very tasty - thick, smooth and on the saltier side. So what had happened was.... My bestie & I have been wanting to come for months and we finally made it there today! We originally planned to get there prior to opening but coming from Mililani, I arrived 5 mins late. Luckily I scored a parking stall right in front but there was people waiting outside. At first I thought they were late in opening up but nah girl. The line was out the door at 10:35!! Unreal. I had some time to decide on my drink order, and check in on yelp..10% off for checking in yeehaww! But nope, by the time I got to the front, I completely forgot to use it. I was almost upfront, just two people ahead of me and a guy finally comes out with a mobile device to help decrease the line and take credit card orders. The only thing about that is that he didn't give out a number nor a stamp card. But luckily I was next and the cashier took care of me. We chatted and caught up for about 3 hours indoors on some lovely chairs. Throughout my visit, the line was still crazy long. And towards the end of my visit, people didn't want to stand outside and wait so the line curved around the tables inside. I felt a bit squished! The heat outside is crazy but I'm glad we didn't stay much longer. I really appreciate the fact that they bring out the drink to you. Just as long as your number is visible on the table, they'll find you. Furthermore, it doesn't cause a crowd near the counter. Bathroom: Catch a worker and give them your drivers license in exchange for the bathroom key. Walk out of Hana Tea, turn left and walk around the bldg until you see a sign that says Restroom (separate rooms for men and women but only one stall.) When we arrived at Hana Tea, there was a line out the door and we lucked out with a parking space near the front of this tea shop. While standing in line, I noticed the menu posted near the shop's entrance and took a look or study the menu so I could make my decision well before getting up to the cashier. I surely didn't want to be THAT customer who has a "jillion of questions" or undecided person who holds up a line of other thirsty and hot from Summer Heat customers. Our friends assured us that the line would move quickly and the longest they've waited to get to the cashier was 30 minutes! Man, you'd think you were waiting to get tickets to a Bruno Mars show...yeah, now THAT wait was even longer. Anyway, since there were 6 of us, we asked my husband, who only wanted to share a drink with me, to get us seats. Another friend joined him to arrange 2 tables and chairs for all of us so we could sit together. Our wait time was 20 minutes! Both my husband and I are slightly lactose-intolerant so I chose a fruit smoothie (strawberry-mango) with cheese foam. My friends recommended 50% sweetness and it was a great recommendation! But, I wouldn't go so far to say that this drink was stellar or that I'd even return for it. I sucked up a couple chunks of frozen mango and barely tasted the strawberry. Plus, I thought that our beverage was pricey ($4.75 one size + $0.75 cheese foam). But, thanks to Yelp, I got a 10% discount. I was offered a loyalty card but declined and allowed my stamp to be credited to one of my friends. Our friends all got either the Hong Kong Milk Tea or Brown Sugar Milk Tea and their desired add-ins. We could see the glee on their expressions as they took their sips from their beverages. A 30-minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. Worth it!! The Hong Kong Style Milk Tea and Passionfruit Yuzu Green Iced Tea were just excellent and I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the milk tea and fruit tea menu! Hong Kong Milk Tea...the flavor is more of a velvety, rich, and extra smooth black tea taste. Yum! At 50% sweetness (probably a combination of evaporated and sweet condensed milk) and the addition of mini boba, the drink was perfection. I'm already drooling for another round! The Passionfruit Yuzu Green Iced Tea was so refreshing on this warm summer day in Honolulu. At 50% sweetness and extra ice, there was no need to add any toppings. Bits of passionfruit float around and sometimes make way through the little sippy nozzle if you opt to drink from it. Otherwise a boba straw can be popped into the other end. The little sippy nozzle is a good size, so you could really savor the crisp, natural fruit flavor and green tea. The heart shaped stoppers are adorable, aren't they? I originally thought it was attached to a stir stick, but no, just a super cute top stopper to prevent your drink from spilling. :-) Keep an eye on it though in case you pop it off, because you wouldn't want your fur baby or lil human to mistake these for being edible. Free parking in the small shopping center, but it could get a little congested depending on the time of day. Usual business hours are 10:30am to 9:30pm daily except 10:00pm closing on Fri and Sat. Plenty of seating available. I'm really looking forward to my next visit. I'm gonna have to make this part of my weekend routine when I'm shopping at the Chinatown Marketplace across the street. We recently went to Yohei Sushi Restaurant for dinner and the parking Gods were with me as I scored the last parking stall in front of the restaurant. As we got out of the car, we all noticed the MASSIVE line at Hana Tea (HT) that went out of the door. I've heard a lot about of this new milk tea and boba joint and have seen numerous check ins from my friends. I have also witnessed some postings on social media for their drinks and genius recyclable cups. Before ordering our dinner I mentioned to favorite niece and nephew by default if they wanted to try HT after our meal and initially wasn't sure. We decided to play it by ear. So, after dinner I asked if they wanted to go to Nana's Green Tea or try HT. I'm glad they wanted to try HT because I wasn't really in a mood to drive all the way to Waikīkī. o_O At 9pm, HT was still very busy. They easily had a line of about a dozen peeps deep, but it worked out because we used that waiting time trying to decide what to order. I read a handful of Yelp reviews and concluded either the Hong Kong milk tea, where they advertise limited servings, or brown sugar milk tea. I'd say we waited in line for maybe 15-20 minutes before it was our time to order. They close at 930pm on Wednesdays, as I had suspected the Hong Kong milk tea was sold out. So, I had the brown sugar milk tea combined with creamy cake that piqued my interest when I read reviews on Yelp. Don't forget to check in on Yelp because it'll yield 10% off and make sure to show this to the staff to have your bill adjusted before paying. After paying, we were given a number. We sat on an empty table and waited patiently for our drinks. We utilized the wait by assessing the dinner we just had. In about 5 minutes or so our drinks were delivered to our table. I just love the recyclable cups they use here, and each drink was labeled. In my first sip I could immediately taste the brown sugar and was in awe on this creamy cake that complimented the brown sugar milk tea so well. I'm glad I ordered 50% sweet level and it was just right for me. Had it been any sweeter, it would have tasted like drinking a liquid cake! I let my niece and nephew try my drink and both liked it. But they held on to their own drinks and seemed to have enjoyed their selection of Açai smoothie with boba and coffee milk tea with boba. I also love the interior decor as it's very bright and simple. I also love the phrases that you find on the wall and in the frames. Maybe because I'm a deep thinker and the phrases bring you back down to earth and appreciate the simpler things in life. But I'm not sure about their rubber plants though. They look so real until I took a closer look to realize they are artificial. They can be future dust collectors. With about 6 staff behind the counter, they worked like busy bees producing customized drink after drink to keep the line going. I was impressed with their production level and upbeat atmosphere they are working in. I felt out of place because the staff seem to be in their teens and most of the clientele are young. Thank goodness for bringing the kiddies here. I'm no milk tea or boba expert but overall, I would have to rate HT as one of the best milk tea places in Oahu. I had a handful of these drinks in Hong Kong and Taiwan during my trip last fall and HT has got to be the most authentic tasting amongst its competitors. There's a lot of shared parking spaces with neighboring businesses so this is a major plus. Toss in free Wi-Fi, I'll be sure to be back soon to try their popular Hong Kong Milk Tea. read more

Haha tea has been blowing up on social media and they even had a segment on KITV! My sister forced me to take her here & I am HOOKED. Brown sugar boba - if you get it without ice, try it with the cheese foam creme brulee! With ice: Just as good. :) Matcha: I ask for 50% sweetness since I like it with a bitter note/aftertaste. I prefer this drink hot on chilly nights. Honey green tea - Nice and sweet. Best iced. Hong Kong Milk Tea - Stronger bitter tea taste than the other milk tea. I like it better and get it with the sugar boba. WiFi - They have wifi but it can be difficult to study here since they're super busy. Instead kick it back and relax! I was craving for boba and I wanted to see what boba shops in Oahu could offer compared to the bay area. This place was excellent. You have the option of ordering ahead of time (via website) or ordering in person. They have a parking lot that they share with other stores so parking was easy. The staff here was really nice and took the time to recommend drinks for me and what she thought was good. They have fruit drinks, sparkling drinks, milk tea, coffee drinks and pure tea drinks. They do have a variety of toppings and depending on the topping it could be $0.50, $0.75, $1.00 extra. I ended up ordering the peach green tea with 25% sweetness and lychee jelly as a topping. Came here for the first time. We ordered the Classic Milk Tea (yummy), Hong Kong Style Milk Tea (yummy, but tea taste is stronger), Strawberry Smoothie (yummy), and Melon Smoothie (ok tasting). The smoothies appears to be made with fresh fruits. The strawberry smoothies was super delicious. The Classic Milk Tea was more flavorful than the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The staff are fast and friendly. The store is super busy and consistently has a long line that stretches out the door sometimes. The prices are decent and the quality of the cups and drink is awesome. The store has a lot of tables and chairs to use. The parking lot is huge and is shared by other establishments. The store is located in the little plaza across the Subway store. It's also across the street from the Honolulu Community College (HCC). read more
