My favorite drink is their brown sugar milk tea w/brown sugar boba. I have been getting that almost every time and it never disappoints me. I do get it 25% sweetness since it's sweet with all that brown sugar lol. Recently, I tried their matcha latte with creamy cake. I saw someone on Instagram post about it and I was like "omg, I need to try it". Let me tell you, that was the best decision. Now I have 2 favorite drinks! The line was about 20 people deep on a Saturday afternoon. We probably waited about 30 minutes to order and get our drinks. Once we got to the front, we found out that they were out of hongkong milk tea. That's ok. I like brown sugar milk tea, too! Brown sugar milk tea (黑糖奶茶) is common in Taiwan, but it isn't really popular here for some reason. Teapresso recently started offering it, but I think they need to work on it. Hana tea has it down. The tea is strong and it's not watery at all. The boba is perfect and at 50% sweet, it was perfect sweetness for me. They also ask if you want more or less ice. then you get a number and wait. They have comfy chairs and a bunch of tables for people to wait for their drinks. The service was pretty friendly and they were going as fast as they could. I will definitely be back. I want to try the yuzu tea and hongkong milk tea. Even if I have to wait 30 minutes, I think it's worth it. This place is located in the little shopping center across form hcc. The following I have tried all with cheese foam: -jasmine milk tea 4/5: This is my main go to order at all milk tea places. Regardless where I go I always order this and it will determine if i o going back to the place. I loved this and the combination of the cheese foam made it way better than just plain. -brown sugar milk tea 3/5: I didn't like as much as everyone raved about it. There were no swirls of black sugar like in the pictures, it just tasted like a plain black milk tea. It could be my sugar level choice but it shouldn't have made a huge difference. -Hong kong style milk tea 5/5!!! This one is limited sometimes they will have it and sometimes they don't. A few times it wasn't on the menu but finally I saw it so I had to try. If you've had authentic hong kong style milk tea (si mat nai cha) you won't understand the anticipation! The brewing process of this is longer and the tea is much more intense, less milk is added to this. I adore stronger milk so this I love! If you're more of a tea person and less milk this might be for you! It is much more bitter than a classic milk tea. Color is much richer and darker. In summary I love milk tea with more of the tea flavor and the cheese foam just makes all of them a sweet salty savory taste which makes the enjoyment of it better. I'm a big fan of boba and had heard good reviews about this place, so I was excited to try it out. Hana Tea is located in a plaza with many other smaller stores, so there is definitely a spacious parking lot. I came on a Saturday at 12 pm and it was easy finding parking. The inside of Hana tea has cute wall art and is overall well decorated. Something to note is that it is definitely not a place to sit around and chill with your drink as the inside has been set up for COVID precautions. I asked the cashier for their recommended and they told me that their brown sugar milk tea was popular, so I ordered that at 75 sweetness, and it was delicious! The boba was soft and chewy and the milk tea was perfectly balanced between the tea flavor and sweet milk flavor. Even at 75 sweet, the brown sugar milk tea was pretty sweet, so next time I probably would have gotten 50 sweet, but the server was so kind and even offered to remake it if I didn't like it. Since my last review, I've been coming here at least once a week to sometimes coming back 2-3 days in a row. Hana Tea is officially my #1 go-to for drinks! I've tried a lot from their menu and I loved everything I ordered but my favorite drink is definitely the Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Creamy Cake! It is a unique topping that only Hana Tea serves. It follows a similar concept to Thai Walls at Starbucks where it's all over the sides of your cup. Creamy Cake reminds me of a light version of whipped cream that I can't get enough of. And it looks like I'm not the only who agrees. Since word came out about how amazing Hana Tea's drinks are, don't be surprised to find the line almost out the door. The wait can almost be over 30 minutes! Just be prepared for a wait and avoid going at prime times (usually lunch time) Their Fruit Teas and Sparkling Water choices are something else that I would recommend especially for those who can't drink caffeine. I was so impressed I had to share this with my husband. So we trekked it one day from Kapolei to Kalihi in crazy afternoon traffic (there was an accident that day). After an hour, we finally got there. He ordered a Coffee Milk Tea with creamy cake and brown sugar boba and we got my sister a Brown Sugar Milk Tea with creamy cake and brown sugar boba. I'm telling you, brown sugar boba is where it's at... add in creamy foam and it's over! Boom, deliciousness!! This boba shop is legitimately insane! The price point for the boba itself is less than $5 and all toppings run from .50-$1.00 there is a huge hype and following so be prepared for a line and possibly a long wait. One day I came on a weekend around 2:30 and the line was outside of their door and then some! I opted to pass that day knowing that the wait time can be kinda long sometimes. I honestly don't know what time is the best time to come cause I've come in the morning a little after opening and they're already busy and I had friends that show up before closing and the lines are just as long. So you just have to try your luck! My favorite is the brown sugar milk tea with creamy cake topping. I've gotten it with the brûlée topping and it kinda gave it like a salted caramel taste to it?? Anyway I usually don't like milk tea taste to my tea if you know what I mean?? I like the fruit/smoothie types but I really like this brown sugar drink. She loves this place so we had to check them out. They are located off Dillingham Blvd. Brick Oven Pizza, Yohei, Lox of Bagels and H&R Block are in the same complex as Hana Tea. The outside of the building is run down but the inside is very clean and modern. Customer service was friendly and they corrected my drink mishap quickly. Drinks are hand crafted and they are meticulous making them. Mink ordered the M size Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Mini Boba and regular sweet. I ordered the M size Hong Kong Style Milk Tea with Creamy Cake, Cheese Foam and 25% sweet. I liked Mink's drink better than mine because with the additions I put in the drink, I should have gotten it regular sweet vs 25% sweet. The word must be out just how good, and authentic Hana Tea is after being open just 3 weeks...the parking lot was packed. Drove around the corner and parked outside of H&R Block. Once I walked in I heard the familiar sound of Chinese from half the tables. Good sign as these type of drinks and snacks are very popular in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China. There was a line of half a dozen people yet moving fast with every table taken. Good, good! The service was so friendly. I waited towards the front of the shoppe for my treat and the servers were so nice to tell me what each delicious drink was AND how it was made. Found out the fruit smoothies are all made with fresh fruit. When my drink was delivered the server made sure to repeat my order and then left the table with "enjoy!" And the tea? Do love a good milk tea but which one to get...as recommended by Sherrie and Kathy...brown sugar milk tea with creamy cake or milk tea with cheese foam topping? I saw some photos on Instagram for this new Boba Tea Shop and I read Kathy's review which included some CAPITAL LETTERS and made me believe that she was SERIOUS about how GOOD the beverages are at Hana Tea! Since I had finished some errands at Costco in Iwilei, I realized how close I was to Hana Tea. I actually saw it this past week when I had lunch at Yohei Sushi. At that time, I was too full to get a drink, but not today... I parked for free right in the front of the cute shop. The lot is shared by several businesses, but they were closed by the time I arrived. When I entered, there was a table of young adults playing games and a table of people working/studying with their laptops. It's such a comfortable place for everyone to hang out! There were electrical outlets along the walls for charging purposes! Wow...so thoughtful! I was greeted warmly at the counter and I read off Kathy's review, written an hour prior to my visit! The workers smiled and asked if I was looking at something online. Yes! I wanted Kathy's BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA with CREAMY CAKE & BROWN SUGAR BOBA - half sweet! Haha! Yup! Since she highly praised it! This was my first time coming to Hana Tea and I was so excited to try it out. I have heard so many reviews about this place. The layout was very cute, with space to study and hangout. I found parking right away on a weekend. Now for the drinks. I ordered a watermelon smoothie with regular boba, 50% sweetness and less ice. It did not taste lIke watermelon at all. They also used jasmine tea, which I did not know and so the entire drink tasted like jasmine tea. The boba was nice, chewy, and warm, which complimented the drink nicely. I would not order any of their fruit smoothies, and they also do not use real fruits. I also ordered their brown sugar milk tea with regular boba. Not bad and it tasted like it a should. As I got my drink and went into my car, I noticed that the bottom of one of my drinks was leaking! My hand got all sticky with the syrup and overall not a great experience. After seeing a ton of my yelp elite friends write a review for here and many posts on IG, I finally found a chance to try here on a Saturday afternoon. I thought it might be crowded and the line was a lot longer than I had expected. While we were waiting in line, I noticed that over half of the people sitting down were still waiting for their tea. We waited about 10 minutes to order and then another 20 minutes for our tea. My husband and I ordered a Classic milk tea with creamy cake and brown sugar boba and a brown sugar milk tea with brûlée cheese foam and brown sugar boba. Both larges, 100% sweetness. This was my last taste of Aloha before I hopped on my flight back to the mainland. But, definitely will not be my last!! Hana Tea is AMAZING and it's a little further than Waikiki, but it's worth the Uber/ drive over if you have a car. With COVID restrictions, you can text in your order or order online. You'll get an ETA and a message when your drink is ready. There is plenty of parking spots on the street or in the parking lot. My boyfriend and I just shared one drink because we didn't want to have stomach aches (lactose intolerant, but that doesn't stop anybody). We got the brown sugar milk tea, with brown sugar boba and the crème brulee foam topping. WHO. WOULD. HAVE. THOUGHT. This drink was out of this world. The milk tea was subtly sweet (I got 30%) and the boba enhanced the sweetness. The boba was perfectly cooked, HOT, and chewy. The crème brulee topping was something that I've never had on a boba drink (and that says a lot since I've had a lot of boba). It was a little salty, but had a nice crème brulee taste to it. I loved how they charred it and added a little crunchiness from the sugar. Everything went well with one another and I can't wait to come back. The boba here is really good! Compared to all the other places in Hawaii that I tried out, the boba here is the freshest and chewiest. Not too sweet. I ordered the passion fruit green tea with boba, half sugar. Not a huge fan of the Yuzu, but didn't have a choice. Overall, more fruity and sweet than I liked, the but the boba itself made up for it. Would have preferred more tea flavor as well. They also didn't have the curry fishball available, which I thought was strange since we went in the early afternoon. I went to try out this place out for the first time with a friend and their drinks really exceed my expectation! Their milk tea drinks were very authentic and does not taste artificial or powdery. It was so good that both of us have to go back to get seconds. For the first round, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Cheese Foam and she ordered the Classic Milk Tea with regular Boba. For the second round, I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with regular Boba and she ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea. Brown Sugar Milk Tea: For this drink, the brown sugar has a light taste and the right amount of sweetness. It was also mixed in really well that it didn't clump together on the bottom of the cup. The ingredients in it balanced out perfectly. Jasmine Milk Tea: Honestly our favorite drink by far. The jasmine tea was very fragrant but wasn't too strong that that it would overwhelm the overall drink. It literally taste like flowers blooming in our mouths. For the cheese foam, the flavors wasn't heavy, but actually really light and fluffy. When mixed in, it made my jasmine milk tea a little more creamier. Their boba was also very soft, chewy, and fresh. It came out very warm in our drinks. Overall, their milk tea was very smooth and the temperature was perfect even with the warm boba and the light ice. Our orders came out fairly quickly despite how busy the place was. Just like many of the other reviews this place is pretty busy, lines are long because of it being fairly new. But the service is great and they get orders done fast. We came on a Saturday night at around 9pm and there was a line midway through the shop. All the tables were filled and some didn't have their orders yet but shortly after ordering and waiting about 20 minutes we got our order. My other half and I ordered a large melon smoothie with regular boba with 100% sweetness and a large classic milk tea with mini boba and creamy cake and crème brûlée. The cups are different and cute. One issue is the straws which break pretty easy since they don't do well with bending. Smoothie straws which are bigger don't have this problem. The melon tea was pretty good until the end where it's foamy like. It's different from other boba places that sell smoothie drinks but it is quite refreshing. The classic milk tea was good and the creamy cake made it a bit salty but compliments the drink. Definitely will recommended but please note it may be busy especially on the weekends. Also read more

First learned about this place from Malia H's instagram story. I'm telling you, IG is a great way to discover new places! It's also a great way for businesses to advertise for free (thank you Hana Tea for having an Instagram account and posting your menu and pics of your drinks!). Their menu is smaller than many of the other bubble tea houses, but they have a few intriguing toppings that you may not find anywhere else, like the creamy cake and cheese foam (both are 75 cents extra). I placed on online order and let me just say, out of all of the restaurants that do mobile ordering, Hana Tea has the best, most organized system. You can choose your drink, size, toppings, and a specific delivery time to pick up your order -- they also do walk in orders FYI. I ended up getting a large brown sugar milk tea 75% sweet with regular boba, and my boyfriend got the large hong kong milk tea 75% sweet. The boba was soft and bouncy, while the brown sugar milk tea was sweet, but not overly sweet. I don't know if we got a bad batch or if it's genuinely supposed to taste weird, but the hong kong milk tea was more bitter than sweet, so definitely be aware of the taste of that drink. Their menu is huge and definitely has something for everyone. Even those that don't like boba and/or milk tea. Here's what my friends and I got: 1. Brown Sugar Boba: this was suuuper delicious! I got mines 50% sweet and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. You could taste a hint of the brown sugar which added a touch of sweetness at the end of each sip! I can definitely see why this is the most popular drink! 2. Brown Sugar Boba with Cheese Foam & Creme Brûlée finish. My friend has a MAJOR sweet tooth so of course he went allll out. He asked them to combine the 2 most popular drinks: Brown Sugar Boba and Cheese Tea Creme Brûlée. He loooved it! I thought it was a bit weird but, to each their own! My boyfriend opted for green tea and it was soooo good! The Yuzu and passion fruit weren't too sour and made for a very refreshing drink. There were even passion fruit seeds in the drink! I thought they were delicious and ate them. My boyfriend on the other hand didn't and spit them out. As for sizing, all milk teas come in regular and large sizes. The fruit and smoothie teas only come in the large cup. My friends and I loved the cups they provide! They're reusable and have a hole to put your straw and a side you can sip your drink out of. We actually took them home cause they were so well made! Overall, everyone loves what they got and even loved what each other got! Calling all BOBA fans!!! First and only place to do the Hong Kong style Boba tea with foam in Oahu and they are doing it right. The boba itself has just the right of chew with softness. It has a delicate sweetness. I like the brown sugar boba with creamy cake and cheese foam. I know....everyone is mentioning this drink and it is for good reasoning. At first glance I thought ahhh this is going to be so sweet. I got 50% sweetness that end up just right and the cream cake just makes a smooth rich texture as you mix more. Don't forget the little saltiness from the cheese topping. On a visual note, the the place is clean and has a modern feel with whitewashed wood flooring and minimal "tumbler" decor. Worth the drive to the heart of Kalihi. Near Costco next time you are doing a Costco run. The couple that owns the place are super nice and take pride in every drink they make. This is my 3rd time coming here. I would say that their drinks are good and the price is about the same as other boba places. The first time I came and got their Oolong milk tea with the brown sugar boba. That was good although, I'm really big on being able to taste my tea so it was just ok. The second time I came here I got the Thai milk tea with brown sugar boba and I would say that this one was better than my Oolong tea. The fact that you're able to control the sweetness of the Thai tea here was the biggest thing for me. As I have been to other places for Thai tea and it was already a set sweetness and I couldn't adjust how sweet I wanted it which made my drink even sweeter than it needs to be. So the first two times I came were at night so the line wasn't as crazy but this time I came during the afternoon and boy the line was out the door. We were waiting for the line to go down but then it just kept getting longer and so we decided to just stand in line before it gets even longer. Lucky enough we were in line right inside the store so we didn't need to stand outside. This time I got the coffee milk tea with the brown sugar boba and I would say that this is one of my favorite. My friends got the brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba and it just tasted like brown sugar everything haha. It was good but just not my cup of tea! Lol. Only gave 4 star because of the wait. We waited in line and for our order for a total of about 45 mins or so. When I came at night the first 2 times I waited about a good 20 mins or so. Hopefully they decide to get another register or have more people working to get the drinks made within a more reasonable time frame. Yelp popped up a new milk tea place. What makes it special to go to is that they have a topping called creamy cake. That got me. During my break from work I drove here to try it out since they had 10% off for their soft opening. The place was new and the decor was really cute. The cashier recommended the brown sugar milk tea. I added toppings of cheese foam and creamy cake. I had to ask what creamy cake was...it's thick whip cream. The drink looks nice. Cup was cute. Looked like reuseable cup. I took a sip of the cheese foam and it was made just right. Milk tea tasted yummy! There was tea taste in it. It wasn't too sweet. I asked for 25% and it was just right! Service was great. Came here because of the Creme Brulee topping that I saw on IG. The place was really easy to find, across the street from HCC in the small mall complex. The only issue was that the parking lot is small and it's shared with all the other tenants which can get really busy! I wasn't sure about the cheese portion of it but it turned out really good. The topping can be added to any of the many drinks types they have on the board. I had it with my ice chocolate latte. The chocolate wasn't super heavy nor milky which was good, kind of had almost a milk shake taste. The creme brulee cheese had a good salty balance to go with the sweet shake. The fruit green tea that my friend had with 0% sugar had a more green tea taste than anything. The fruits were a nice touch but were definitely more for nomming after. I booked marked this place and have been wanting to try this for a while now. My weakness is boba and donuts. Luckily since moving to Hawaii I don't have many good boba options near Waipahu as opposed to having one walking distance to where I lived in San Diego. (Check out gotcha tea) After conquering an escape room the family and I decided to get our fill on food and beer at the shirokiya. After all the eating and beer we needed some desert after and I asked the cousins if they have tried Hana tea. The answer was yes and it was good. I had to try it. I ordered their signature milk tea with creamy cake and boba. My one mistake was not lowering the sweetness level. I don't like the drinks overpoweringly sweet, no fault of Hana tea. I know next time to lessen the sweetness, of course I'm sweet enough as it is ;) The line was out the door on a Sunday night before memorial day. The bathroom is a hot left after exiting the door and then a left around the back of the building. It was kinda hard to find and scary because it was night and there was no lights. Okay. I admit. I was hesitant to come here because of all the IG hype and photos on social media. I was like, great, another boba tea place that is more for the 'gram than for the taste. Boy, was I wrong. Holy mother of pearl. Not only was I blown away by my drink order (brown sugar milk tea + creamy cake + brown sugar boba @ 50%), I actually ordered another drink while I was there--for ME. My second drink: classic milk tea + creamy cake + brown sugar boba @50% was just as delicious. The tea flavor is definitely unparalleled to anything I've tried here in Hawai'i to date. And the boba? The perfect marriage of sweet and chewy, without being overly anything. Ambiance: Very clean, modern, and cozy. Bright. Tons of laughter and conversation ringing throughout. Long lines the ENTIRE time I was there...and I was there for HOURS grading essays today. Ew. They do have a bathroom key for the shared bathroom around the corner. If you know me, bathrooms are a VERY important thing to note. I have a tiny bladder. And that "no, we don't have a bathroom" irks me REAL bad. So yeah. Bathroom! A plus! Service: Super friendly and efficient. You order at the counter, they give you a number, a physical number you can prop up and display, and they come find you when your drink it ready. They bring your drink to you, so no need to wait around and strain to listen for your number, yadda, yadda, yah. Though I live in Aiea, this will now be my go-to when I'm craving any sort of milk tea or boba. Within a week, we found ourselves back here, the bubble tea THAT irresistible. Even my husband who typically is not a fan of sweets or bubble tea was itching to come back. This time we tried the creamy cake and cheese foam. They were both delicious, as anticipated. The creamy cake were served as cream walls, which required some mixing to get it absorbed into the drink. It basically made it thicker and more creamy and while I liked it, I wouldn't say it's essential. The cheese foam was a nice salty touch - something I believe almost any sweet item can benefit from. Again, not a necessary addition but I can see myself ordering it from time to time. Overall, I'm still in love with Hana Tea and it def deserves high mention in the Oahu bubble tea scene. read more

The times I've gone have been so good! The first time was a Wednesday during lunch. Not busy at all! Just wanted to try it since it's new. I tried the brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba. It was soooo good. It was fairly quick. The other times I went, it was busy! In the evening at 530, it was ok. They do have stamp cards and they give you a number when you order so they bring the drink to you. Parking is okay, it is hit or miss. They do have a parking lot, but it gets filled up pretty quickly. Cute interior, lots of seating. Decoration is nice as well. You watch them make your drinks. They accept card, which is what I use most often. The last time I went was a Friday night, it was soo busy. Luckily we were just there to pick up and go. Cute little boba/tea place that serves up some creative drinks. Honestly, boba isn't my thing so I stuck with a hot Americano while my family tried out the boba. The place is super clean and quant and they have a nice COVID process. Given what you get I'd say their prices are relatively reasonable. They use really nice cups and straws as well. In terms of the Americano I thought that it had really good flavor and was smooth. In terms of the pineapple boba I was told that it was too sweet even though they asked for 50%. Keep in mind that things are relative as it relates to sweetness. All in all, a good experience and I recommend giving them a try. read more

Cute, Cute & CUTTTEEE Boba Cafe This place is located in dillingham across Honolulu Community College in the area of H&R block. I got the Coffee milk tea with 75% sweet and regular ice. I should of got 100% because it wasn't sweet at all and my ice was already melted by the time i got out of the cafe. On the upside of it all, the boba tasted amazing. It was soft, easy to chew and not to sweet. The cafe itself is so comforting, clean and bright. They do have Free Wifi so i highly recommend this place to study because its also not to loud.
