My family and I dined in for dinner and we got denied to order more food. We purchased the buffet. The owner told us no, and that he didn't want us to waste food. We didn't like the beef tongue, He actually got mad and questioned our party asking why we didn't like it. He didn't want to waste so he actually took the extra beef tongue off of our table and saved it to give to someone else. We also had to change our grill out , the server put our food that was on the grill on the FLOOR and when she got the fire started she put our food back on the fire that was on the floor. read more

This is a great korean restaurant. There isn't much in terms of ambiance; the fluorescent lighting and laminate floors leave much to be desired. However, their food is good and very affordable! They have two sections of the reataurant, the AYCE side and the regular menu side. Although the AYCE was tempting and I was hungry, we saw the very reasonable prices for dinner entrees and opted for ordering off the menu. It was a good thing, as we left full and with leftovers. Most of the entrees are $10. Super affordable!! And they come out of these cool sizzling platters, with rice and banchan. They also offer combinations of you can't decide between two favorites. I was able to try the spicy pork (super flavorful and delicious), the meat jun (also very good) and the kalbi (good! But all I can think about is that spicy pork!!). The meats come on a bed of grilled onions too!! We also got the vegetable spicy tofu soup which was really garlicky and noms. Everything tasted so good! Even the ban chan was good!! They didn't have a lot of variety of banchan, but you can get refills of what you like. The location is a little sketchy, but I'm sure I'll be back, even just to pick up lunch. I will have to try the AYCE too! Can't wait!! read more

The food was very good. Absolutely the best vegetable fried rice I've ever had and a very generous portion! Found menu on line before arriving. Received only short menu there so recommend google search for menu photo. One thing about the servers, there were only 2 ladies for the whole place and they had other duties as well. They had to bus and clean the tables. The place was full of customers so I understand why they have to prioritize their service. The chairs are hard plastic folding ones so if you need a soft seat I recommend bringing a cushion. I asked, can't hurt to ask, if they had one and in a few minutes the lady found one and brought it out to me. It was very comfortable. It's comfortably warm so not cold air conditioning. Very homey so dress casual is fine. Three and a half stars if I could. read more

PROS: -All you can eat- Lots of food, good and various meats, -waitress warmed up towards the end and responded playfully by giving us a short teppanyaki show (She was hilarious, tossed the tongs up in the air, and teased her coworker lady), and -spacious inside the restaurant and on the table for the many plates we had. CONS: -Food was limited to 3 meats at a time and instead of getting the chance to try different meats they slammed a lot of the three meats and we're later told that we needed to empty the trays of meat before they served more or others. (You don't get the chance to even try half of the meats) -service appeared rushed to get us out and they needed to be "informed" when the ban chans ran out or we were missing items that weren't served to our table, and -parking was a bit challenging as it was shared with a lot of other nearby shops/bars read more

First time at Han Yang last night. We enjoyed our yakiniku buffet. Service was great for being packed. Unlike many places that gives you a certain serving size we could ask for just a little bit more meat so we could make sure we finished it without having to stuff ourselves to make sure we ate it all. Can't wait to go back. read more

Han Yang Restaurant - Meat :) - Korean Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

We did the AYCE option $25.99 and it was okay. Service was good because we were the only party (6 people) on that side of the restaurant. The restaurant is divided in two, AYCE and regular menu. They have 14 different meat options but I only cared for their brisket and pork belly. The salted kobe and korean kalbi were chewy and not to my liking. However, their sauces and salad were delicious. My fiance ordered for us while I went to the bathroom, and it was only two of us eating AYCE (on our side of the table, since the party of 6 was divided) and the other person ordered her own from the menu, and they gave a lot! Half the plate was ALL pork belly (too much for us). After they served us the raw meat and my fiance started cooking, I saw the sign posted on the walls saying to inform the waiter if there's too much meat, before you start cooking and they'll take some away. Parking is hard to find. Just have to be patient and hope someone is leaving. Overall we agreed the experience was okay.. read more

First time for us to try. It was really good. It wasn't as fancy as Gen just simply but good. They give you a lot of meat at one time so you don't have to keep asking and they also cut it. You know it must be good if a lot of Korean people eat there. read more

More people should try the Yakiniku here. Great price, eat all the side dishes you want, generous serving of pork belly.

Good all you can eat, fast friendly service.. open late and they got good stew dishes as well

Great deal for the AYCE bbq. I always order the brisket while I'm there. The quality of meat is great for the price and the staff for friendly! read more

My favorite hidden spot. This place is small but has all the good food you'll be looking for. The service is great and their always making sure your table is served. They have yakiniku and a restaurant on the left side. So wether you want to be served or cooked food you have options. This place takes card and cash so don't need to go run to the atm. They have a restroom also inside so don't worry about looking for one. This place is clean and quiet. If you're looking for simple yet awesome Korean food this is the spot to be. My experience here has always been delightful. I recommend this spot to everyone read more

Han Yang Restaurant - What they call kalbi clearly top round!! - Korean Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

We came here late at night on a Monday...hungry. My friends order the all you can eat Yakiniku ($25 per person), while me and my other friend order a plate instead. I ordered the somen and mandoo ($8). It was pretty good. Decent portion. I love eating noodle and soup with chili sauce. Tastes way better. My friend order a stone pot, pretty big..looks good. My other friends who order the Yakiniku got a lot to eat. I tried one piece of their beef, it wasn't bad. They marinated the beef pretty well. It also included side dishes of vegetables: kimchee, broccoli, bean sprouts, and such. I think it's a family business owned. It's a medium size place but kind of old, so the place seems worn down. The service was alright. They seem to be eating their late dinner when we were there. So they were walking back and forth eating and serving us. read more

They ignored our whole side of the restaurant for 45 minutes and they were eating in front of us (mind you there were only 3 parties of less than 3 at the time). When paying I asked if their was a reason for that, she ignored me. I asked again and told her 45 minutes is a long time not to check on the table. She said next time call her, I said I did. She said next time walk up to her and ask for service. I told her there is no next time the service here is terrible. We were only able to get 2 orders of meat in. No refill on water, sides, or rice. The menu says it comes with seaweed soup or bean paste soup, we received neither. I could go on and on about all the negative things we experienced but I've already wasted enough of my time at this establishment. Poor service abc no aloha gets a 1 star stamp in my book. read more

Service was extremely AWFUL!!!. Came in at 8:30. Party of 3. After our first round of meat, all the workers sat down and had their "family dinner" together. They sat and ate theirs dinner, forgetting they had a job to do. Which is to take care of paying customers. We had no meat and no rice for 15 mins. We were too shy to bother them because they were enjoying their meal. We ordered second round but only limited to 2 meats. Not 4! They turned off and tv and music at 9:15. Already closing up the store. We wanted to order more meat at 9:15 but told that they were almost closing and told us to hurry up. So we took back our order as it was an "inconvenience" to them. They close at 10pm but cant order meat after 9pm? Their price should be lower considering the awful service these Korean ladies are displaying. PRICE IS NOT WORTH IT FOR A SHITTY SERVICE LIKE THIS RESTAURANT. read more

My favorite kind of kbbq: no frills! Love the owners, bomb bbq, and plenty of seating for large parties!

Why wait 30mins to an hr for gens or sikdorak when you can just walk right into Han yang and eat right then and there . They serve good great amounts of meat . Hands down love this restaurant read more

The restaurant is a little run down and the ambiance isn't the best but... the food hits the spot and can satisfy your Korean cravings. I came here with a large party and the staff were nice and helpful the entire time. We ordered the fried mandoo and steamed mandoo. All were huge and homemade. The taste wasn't too bad but of course the dipping sauce made it taste better. We also got the squid stir fry and japchae to share. Those dishes plus the banchan (side dishes) were absolutely delicious. I shared the seafood tofu soup and 3 combo with kalbi, meat jun, and bbq chicken with my husband. My soup was served in HUGE stone pot and I finished it all. The meat jun was so yummy! It would be nice it they kept the place neat and maybe played some background music. But the food is ono and affordable! Definitely a must try! read more

Was so looking forward to trying this place! Others have said it was really good. Went there on a Monday evening only to find ..... they are closed on Mondays! So Yelp, can you update the info page? That would have saved us a trip! Tried calling before we left but went to VM; we figured too busy to answer the phone! Must be good! I don't think it's fair to give a one star rating because they were closed so I went for the middle of the road. read more

First timer. AYCE for $20, pretty reasonable. Ordered 4 popular meats according to the waitress. Kalbi, tongue, brisket and pork belly. Comes with rice and 5 banchan. Nice portions of meat, not the best quality....but not bad. There is no vents so the place can get pretty smokey. Just a while in the wall place, nice people and lots of food. For the price, no complaints. To me, all the meat tasted the same. Lol! If you're looking for a cheap bbq place, come here. read more

Han Yang Restaurant - what's not to love about Korean BBQ. Known for their yakiniku style AYCE special. They offer regular Korean dishes- tons to choose from. Located in the Diner's parking lot near the Kapalama Post Office. We decided to eat here for lunch on this Sunday afternoon. I wasn't hungry enough to have the AYCE, but I sure was up for some Korean BBQ. We sat on the regular restaurant side where you can order individual dishes. As soon as I opened my menu I knew I had to get the Han Yang Special. It comes with Kalbi, Chicken, meat jun, fish jun, and mandoo. I knew that would be a big plate that would surely satisfy my appetite. As usual, these dishes come with banchan. From sprouts, Kim chee, cucumbers, shoyu potatoes, and greens. The service was surprisingly alright. The staff was attentive and constantly filled waters throughout my meal. One plus for them. I like to drink a lot of water, or I'm just super dehydrated, but nonetheless I was never left with an empty cup. Overall, the food was delicious. I liked the Kalbi and fried mandoos the best. The Kim Chee had a great spice level and taste. I think it was just right. Definitely look forward to coming back and prolly doing some take out. Also, to try the AYCE, which did raise the price to $25.95. If you're in the area try them out. It's a great location rather than having to drive into town for Yakiniku at an affordable price. read more

The Owner and their workers do not pay attention to anyone who ain't korean or speak korean. I went here on my date and with one of friends within the same month and both times they wouldn't come to me for more meat order for the buffet deal. It took over 45 minutes of waiting and trying to call them over and even yell at them eventually to finally get our meats when I was with my friend. Also before that time with my date they treated us poorly making us wait for our 2 second order which took over 25minutes to get. Do no come here it's more like wait till you get full then we give you a new order and charge you extra for leaving food behind ordeal. What a sham and a scam a place like this do not belong in Hawaii local businesses. As they practice poor customer service and I do not recomend anyone to come here either. read more

I'm not usually a huge fan of Korean food but I ate here with coworkers the other day. I didn't order anything but I tried a bit of all theirs and they ordered a lot!!! There was spicy soup with seafood and tofu. There was pork and fish jun and mandoo. There was plenty of little plates with Kim chee and other veggies. I liked it all and would definitely order something next time. You get a lot of food so go hungry! Only thing was the soup had huge chunks of octopus. Hard to eat/chew. I'd cut it smaller especially because it's in soup so it's not like you have cutting utensils.... read more

First off, basing this review off of the all-you-can-eat yakiniku option. Took the family there on a Saturday evening after circling the parking lot twice and luckily finding a spot. Like the parking situation, Han Yang was packed and we walked in with only one table available. The place was cranking and smoking, literally! We were there to try the all-you-can-eat yakiniku deal for $20. The waitress started us off with 4 of our requested menu choices: garlic Kobe meat, kalbi, short ribs, and pork belly. The meat came out quickly and we were ready to rock. The four portions of meat were huge. We worked our way through all of that and before the end of the session, we also tried the brisket, garlic short ribs, and salted Kobe meat. We couldn't get to the rest of the menu - about 15 other items - chicken, spicy pork, tripe, etc... unlimited rice and Kim Chee refills too. Reference other Yelp posts pics for menu items. Plus points: price, quality of meat for the price, no time limit (I think), promptness after ordering Negative points: parking (nothing Han Yang can do about it), one of the waitresses (the main one that's kinda big) is super unfriendly and gruff, oddly, the portion per order is huge (I had to order half portions in order to try different meat and not risk wasting). read more

Love this place. Very generous serving sizes on the all you can eat. Kimchi jjiggae is nice too

Did not come here for the longest, it's been years! Today has been my second time this year coming and it's still the same. Great customer service, especially the owner. This restaurant is split into two areas. Walking in, right side is the yakiniku area and the left is the non-yakiniku area. For those who just want the 'ready to eat' meals. Tonight we ordered brisket, beef tongue, garlic Kobe steak and pork belly. FYI, they do give big portions, so order wisely hehe but my boyfriend said that he saw a sign that said if they give you too much then you can let them and they won't give you so much. Also in order to yakiniku, you must have a second person, I mean the more the better. We recently started coming because they now have $20 all you can eat buffet which is a winner!!! So I recommend you guys come here. read more

My family decided to try out this restaurant after my daughter's gymnastics practice which is just a few streets behind. From the outside, it didn't look like any place special or fancy, but when you step inside, it was bright and very clean. It is a pretty big establishment in fact. The smell of the meet that other patrons were cooking was heavenly. If you are a carnivore, then this is the place for you. My family and I are big meat eaters, so Yakiniku all you can eat is perfect for our family! The servers gave us a table and brought us all waters right away. Shortly after we made our meat selections. Beef tongue, Kalbi, Pork belly, and Garlic Flap Meat. Our kids ate most of the beef tongue and garlic flap meat. They highly enjoyed it. My son loves Kalbi, and whacked that in no time. We had to order extras for just about all of the meat we had ordered. The meat came out on 2 plates, piled up high. A generous portion of meat for sure. The kalbi was seasoned great. I'm not a fan of kalbi, but this one I thought was pretty good. The pork belly which is my favorite was so good. You dip it into the salt and oil mix or the teri sauce that they give you, and it's perfect! The sides consisted of mac salad, potato salad, kim chee, bean sprouts, lettuce salad, and steamed rice. You are also welcome to ask for more if you should eat all the sides. The service here was very good! My family are big fans of yakiniku and it is guaranteed that we will eat here again! read more
