Fulfilling and bountiful. Two words to describe the meals here. Everything we ordered was amazing. I recommend the entire menu. The service was kind, attentive, and accommodating. We went near the closing time and were still delivering high quality service. The environment was normal and very clean without being cramped. There's several spaces for private parties with the main space perfect for parties of 4-6 people

Came here for lunch on a weekday! Very tasty! I ordered the seafood sundubo which had a lot of seafood. I was honestly rather shocked. Delicious! I've come here several times before and the quality is always consistent. I'm not a huge fan of their ban chan though... I like the cucumber one but the others were mid. Service is good and the restaurant is quiet and calming. Overall, I will recommend Han Il Kwan and will be returning in the future.

One of the long lasting Korean restaurants for decades. Gone through its ups and downs but the latest owners have stepped up their service and quality of food. Arrived for lunch and the service was friendly like your aunt welcoming you in. Seafood Pancake was huge & thick with vegetables and seafood! Definitely a must when dining with a group. Soups came out piping hot and good broth depth of flavor. Banchan was fresh and happy to refill for us. A nice Korean option on the south side of the perimeter keeping Buford Highway relevant.

My favorite Korean BBQ. Great food, love the meat and sides. And great service. Also like the ambience.

Didn't realize this was on the michelin guide till I walked in and there was a sign. Ordered takeout but seemed like a casual ambiance with lots of seating. The portions are pretty big, the rolled out my order on a cart and it was in a big cardboard box. Nice lady at the front! Enjoyed the banchan. Got the mackerel w/soybean paste soup, medium seafood pancake, black bean noodles (jajangmyeon), & sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk). The mackerel was not very salty which was refreshing as some places make it too salty. Soybean soup just OK. Wished there was an option to get the fish on its own. Black bean noodles very good! Seafood pancake & tangsuyuk were ok - wished they were crispier but maybe bc it was takeout. Would def return to try more items or get the black bean noodles again.

    LA Galbi and Tteok-Bokki

Han Il Kwan is a Korean restaurant offering traditional dishes and KBBQ! There is a very traditional feeling inside in terms of how it is decorated and set up. In terms of service, I had a friendly and helpful server! The meat took some time to come out, but that is to be somewhat expected. My friend and I split the LA Galbi and Tteok-Bokki. The LA Galbi, which comes with a bowl of rice, was okay. I wish the meat was cooked more thoroughly for my liking (I am not big on red/pink colors still being in my meat) and had a stronger marinade. The Tteok-Bokki was good! The rice cakes were huge and overall, it tasted pretty typical. The sides, specifically the kimchi and cucumber salad, were super yummy and paired well with the LA Galbi. Even though Han Il Kwan is on the Michelin Guide for Atlanta, I feel like there is better Korean food elsewhere.

-conflicted on whether to rate this a 3 or 4 -have been coming here the last 20+ years and before their Michelin guide rating the quality fell off a bit -but my recent visit was pleasant--service was attentive, they changed the grills to include egg and corn cheese, and meat quality tasted better than previous visits -prices def went up -good and maybe the only Korean bbq in the doraville area worth trying

We stumbled upon Han Il Kwan years ago when I was visiting, and I remembered it being really good. So we obviously had to give it a try again, and it definitely lived up to what I remembered it to be. Between 4 people, we ordered the Black Bean Noodle, Chilled Buckwheat Noodle Soup, and Yae Chae Pajeon (Chives & Scallion Pancake). And this was more than enough for the group. The banchan selection here is amazing. Probably top 3 places. They had squash salad, broccoli, kimchi, stir fried fish cake, cucumber kimchi, and bean sprouts. All so incredibly good, but my favorite was the squash salad because most places don't have it and it was delicious. The 3 dishes we ordered were fantastic as well. No complaints here. Service was very friendly and they definitely go above and beyond with making you feel at home here. I will for sure make a stop here again next time I am in town!

This used to be a distinguished establishment and now it's quite the opposite. The owner changed out the staff and now the service and food quality has diminished. we came in at 8 waited 15-20 minutes for a table and then ordered food once seated. My problem was that waiter that was cooking the meat was rushing everything , the water was only refilled when asked . Also the meat didn't taste as good , I feel like they used a cheaper grade of meat or rushed the marinade because it seems like the flavor was lacking and galbi gui that I've order for over 10 years didn't taste the same. The worst part is that the eggs smelled fishy so when I smelled the egg pot that they use to refill the eggs( which was just left at the table in front to the hot grill) it smelled completely rotten and disgusting. I pointed this out to the manager and he goes sorry , take the pot then pretends like nothing happened. I got food poisoning as well. Not sure what happened but whoever is not running this establishment is running it to the ground by cutting corners on food and service. This used to be my favorite spot but now I will never come back!

As far as I remember, this restaurant is one of the oldest since I moved to Georgia. Recommended by an acquaintance who wanted to treat me to Korean Cold Noodle (냉면), he invited me here. We ordered 물냉면 and an extra serving of noodles (사리). This place is known for its delicious 냉면 and Korean BBQ. The 냉면 was great and refreshing on a hot summer day. I also visited recently for Korean BBQ (갈비). We ordered non-marinated 갈비 for our dinner meeting. The overall service and atmosphere were great.

    Combo for two

Average KBBQ restaurant off of Buford Hwy in Doraville. We ordered the combo for two and it was at best okay, nothing special about it - too sweet, too chewy, and low quality. The server did a decent job and was helpful, but was grilling the meat way too fast, so eventually I told him I'll grill the rest. The side dishes didn't look fresh, but the cucumber kimchi tasted the best and there was no need to ask for any refills at all even though we were hungry. When we left, a lot of meat we didn't grill and half the side dishes...

This is a restaurant that has been around for a very long time.... The quality has really decreased over the years as the price has gone up. SERVICE: busy Sunday PM and only 6-7 waiters for the restaurant. Majority of people were at the bbq side and the regular side was neglected. We even joked that "even if left without paying that they would not notice." We did not have our water filled, we had to physically go up to the back to have banchan filled, no one came to drop off the check/we had to find our own Togo boxes. We then waited in line (behind people waiting to be seated) in order to pay our check -- another 15 minutes. Also I understand why they don't care about giving good service. #1: they are understaffed but #2: THEY AUTOMATICALLY GIVE THEMSELVES 20% for parties 5+. ( again, this whole experience felt very self serve). FOOD: a couple years ago, my uncle found a cockroach in his soup so we were very hesitant about the food. It was not bad ... the GalbiTang was decent (warning: the spicy is SPICY). The JJampong: is very large for one person. The Squid Hotplate was good but not $22 good. This place has really decreased in quality over the years... from their food to their service. For paying $20+ for meals (not to include the forced tip payment system), it is just not a good place.

The Korean food scenes got my wife and I hungry every time! Having been to many of Atlanta's best Korean restaurants over the past decade, Stone Bowl is a clear notch above the rest. The side dishes are just simply better with robust authentic seasoning and unforgettable flavor that leaves you craving for more. The kimchi is spot on for spice but not overwhelming. The potatoes are to die for, cooked to perfection, tender and absorbent of all the nearby flavors. For the first time, we tried the Korean sushi roll (K-Pop Demon Hunters was calling) and it didn't disappoint. Stuffed with fresh cooked bulgogi and veggies, we ate it so fast we were left thinking of Korean sushi rolls had an edge over Japanese sushi rolls! And we also got the poached dumplings for the first time and almost went as fast as the sushi roll. The authentic style of poaching the dumpling made it taste homemade from grandma's kitchen. The sizzling plate of bulgogi was amazingly put down the gullet on top of everything else. Consistently on point and warms the tummy. Service is cordial, but somewhat aloof and distant at times because we would have loved an offer to refill our side dishes, but admittedly they are often busy and we don't go there to expect Michelin dining service levels. We come for the food. Awesome food. And Stone Bowl House will be seeing us again before long.

It is located behind a bunch of buildings and it can be hard to find, but it is honestly quite popular. There are not a lot of seats inside and there are only a few tables outside, but some people had to wait for a table to open up. It is rather tightly packed inside. All the tables seemed to be run by one lady, at least when I visited, but the food came out fairly quick for the amount of people there versus the single waitress. My friend and I shared the Kimchi Pancake and Fresh Pork Belly. The Kimchi Pancake was huge! There were 8 small to medium sized slices (think pizza size). The pancake had a good crunch and taste, especially when dipped into the complementary sauce. My only complaint would be that it had a lot of onions. I would have preferred more kimchi and flour. The Fresh Pork Belly was good, but I wish it was crisper. We were also fans of the banchan! I liked the kimchi and pickled radish. I think if you are looking Korean food that feels like it was home-cooked with love, then Yet Tuh is the place to go! It has a lot of traditional Korean food such as stews and grilled meats & fish. Also, a lot of the dishes can be shareable.

Service? Excellent. Ambiance? Relaxed and enjoyable. Food? Oh...MAN. Wow…read more.. I came here about 8 years ago with the same family members +1 family friend and we enjoyed dinner then, but it truly didn't compare to this visit. Previously, I had Kang Nam slated as an overpriced, but decent sushi place that serves meals on a more robust scale if you're dining with a party. However, the sushi back then was somewhat underwhelming. Last night, we had a phenomenal set. Hamachi, Otoro, Unagi, Ebi, and more! Every piece was delicately balanced and beautifully arranged. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting too much going in- and I'd only chosen Kang Nam as a place where I could get some decent sushi while my family got something else entirely. My mom had Don Katsu (served with a small dish of Japanese style curry sauce). My uncle got the Tempura Udon, of which they served the tempura shrimp on the side in a bed of tempura flakes. This is kind of genius, because you can make the decision on when you want to dip in your tempura instead of them bringing it and you have to down the tempura fast in order to still have it be crunchy... NOT HERE! It stays crunchy since they serve it separately. Love that. We had refillable banchan: kimchi, king oyster mushrooms, and glass noodles- all of which were delicious. We all received bowls of deliciously simple miso soup and we ordered a set of fried dumplings. Everything was great! That is...until the sushi came out. Wow. Presentation: 10/10. Flavor? 10/10. Portion-size: TEN OUT OF TEN, Y'ALL. The sushi rice was fantastic and they didn't use too much like a lot of places do with their nigiri. The toppings were functionally decorative. The sweet shrimp was especially pretty with two different colors of roe on top. The yellowtail didn't need the toppings it had- green onion and fish/squid flakes(?)- in my opinion, but they added a dimension of texture to the initial bite and a hint of flavor to the finish. The fish was perfect in every way: not too thick, no too thin, overlapping the rice by double to allow for perfect soy sauce dips without soaking the rice, and I just CAN NOT EXPLAIN how good each piece was... The sushi rolls were so delicious and every bite had wonderful textures and flavors, but my absolute favorite roll was the one with the smoked tuna on top- WOW! Absolutely stunned. Never - EVER - have I actually tasted the smoke flavor so clearly and completely. I am a HUGE fan of that one and I can't even remember the name of it...it's in the picture on the plate behind the sweet shrimp. The eel nigiri was also a highlight for me- as it's one of my favorite pieces of sushi, I always order several pieces. I was happily surprised to see they were nearly twice the size I get at other restaurants. Hands-down, the best otoro (fatty tuna) I've had in Atlanta. The sushi chef here also believes in giving special service by preparing some extra pieces for the customers as well. I only ordered one set of otoro, but next time....oh my...my bill is gonna hurt next time. Each 2-piece set of otoro is set at $17, so...yeah... It's going to be SO WORTH IT though. I will 10000% be back- soon. I might just get some Otoro, Hamachi, and one of those smoked tuna rolls...man. SO. RIDICULOUSLY. GOOD. Get in there if you haven't been in a while. Trust me!
