We were across the street and I remembered I was going to have Mexican the next day so we were looking for an alternative place when we spotted the sign for Blazing BBQ and decided to cross the street and try it out. The interior is clean bright and air conditioned. Nothing too fancy but welcoming and comfortable. There is parking as well. Went neighbor was going to order the kebabs but they were out. So she went with the chicken shawarma plate. I had the gyro plate. Generous portions and the meat was so tender. The sauces are delicious. We understood why they ran out of kebabs cause looks like they had just fulfilled a large order before us. You can tell it's a popular neighborhood spot. We were dining in but saw many people doing take out. Would definitely visit again now that we know there is parking or would even walk over again.

Service was friendly and patient as we tried to make decisions and asked questions. I have a friend that kind handle chile spice due to medical condition they were very accommodating when it was needed by having certain sauces on the side. We shared a number of dishes and two bottles of wine. We started with the Hummus bil Lahm ou Snobar, my favorite dish of the evening a hummus with bubbling spiced lamb. Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. One of our friends likes meat a lot and hadn't cause he thought it was a vegetarian restaurant. We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied. They even comped dessert for my friends birthday which I believe was an orange rose water pudding. Welcoming warm space. Parking is fairly easy on a Tuesday night. Looking forward to visiting again

Both were very flavorful and well balanced. Love the different textures. The roasted broccoli was OK, it was on the less cooked side The entree skewers were pretty good too. Shoutout to the kind service that let me combine and do half beef and half chicken because at the point I was too full from all the appetizers I ordered but still wanted to try both. One thing I really loved about the skewer is the sauces that came on the side: one tahini, one garlic, and one tomato. Such delicious sauces! Entrees were a little pricey though. Last but not least my party enjoyed the special Lebanese wine.

On one super rainy day, my partner and I were walking by and spontaneously decided to go up to the little window and get one lamb gyro the guy at the window, who I didn't know was the owner, looked at us weird and at first I was like ???? but after 5 min of prepping our order he calls us back to the window and hands us TWO gyros and says "you can't just get one! there are two of you! you won't feel full!" and he hands us both, one on the house I was so shocked it was so kind and unexpected of him. We ended up eating outside right under the window and 2 min later the owner walks out with a slice of bread and starts feeding the ducks outside the store. He told us that they're a couple and that they come by every year to lay eggs and they visit him every night for dinner during this time. He also told us that Cedars of Lebanon has been open for over 40 years and that it used to be so rowdy and exciting. So many people would gather around and spend time in his restaurant but now it's a lot quieter (I'm assuming this is because new, more novel places have been popping up on the Ave). I left this conversation so touched and full of love for this man, I genuinely wish him the best. His unprompted kindness towards a complete stranger and willingness to spend time chatting with us alone makes this place 5 stars for me, so many places lack this kind of passion and love that we could really use more of. this happened almost a year ago but I wanted to share my experience to highlight how wonderful of a man the owner is, hopefully we can continue to have nice things and no one abuses his kindness anyway I wanna go back and try their falafel apparently it's super good

Falafel was also fresh and cone shaped, made into that shape using an interesting stamp-like tool. Price was right too--the gyro sandwich and 2 falafel to go was only just over $13! Service was slow ngl, however, the old couple running the place were sooo cute I can excuse it. They were so friendly, warm, and nice; it gave off auntie and uncle vibes. Another customer in front of me must've been a regular because when the customer made conversation at the takeout window, I heard one of the workers go "We love you, John!!!" Definitely worth a visit for the lucky neighbors if they're ever in downtown Greenwood - probably one of the better restaurants in the area. My wife and I came in on a Saturday evening and were pleasantly surprised that there was a line. It was fast though, and we were seated quickly. My wife and I ordered: Baba Ghanoush (a dip with pita bread) Shish Kebab plate Mansaf (braised lamb) Let's get one thing straight: the meats were cooked fabulously. The beef cubes of the shish kebab were soft and pleasantly chewy with great seasoning, and the lamb of the mansaf LITERALLY fell off the bone. Mr Maqluba delivers on their meats, and that is a winning gesture and reason why we're eager to go back. Our only qualm? The portions seemed a bit off. The shish kebab was fine, but the portions of the mansaf felt a bit odd. A huge, overwhelming amount of rice to one chunk of lamb, with the majority of it being bone. I gave a small sliver to my wife; yet, I feel like I was scraping the bone for more meat WHILE having such an abundance of rice. The portion felt a bit paltry. The baba ghanoush was fine too. Nothing mind-blowing, and they gave only 3 small pita bread slices, which even after scooping generously, does not make a dent in the baba ghanoush. Nonetheless, this mom and pop shop's got grit and soul, which is always pleasant to see in Greenwood and Seattle in general. The ambiance and service was great, and we'll be making another trip back when we make our way down memory lane of Greenwood.
