Hilton took out the clocks in the rooms, then they kiboshed the happy hour to less days, then they kiboshed the happy hour completely, then they got rid of the "business center" with the computer and now they're discontinuing the shuttle to the airport. Next thing you know they'll be removing the refrigerators I'm going to try someplace else where quality is just as good if not better. Also, with prices that are lower. read more

This hotel is in dire need of remodel and not what you would expect from the Hampton properties. The staff is nice enough so it's not their fault and they are trying a hospitality hour (at least when I was there) with basic snacks, beverages and a seltzer/beer option. The rooms are dark with poor lighting. The bathroom is very small so you'll struggle if you have to share. read more

Stayed here for a hockey tournament (our first) and we were pleasantly surprised at the level of hospitality and patience (considering they had several hockey clubs with several teen boys running around). The organization and consideration for the kids as well as other guests and adults was intentional and well received. For example, the pool area is closed for adults only in the evening. There is a daily hot breakfast with all the fixins, so we got our fill. The kids all loved the make-your-own waffles and there was always one form of egg and one protein to go with. Also included were bagels/toast and muffins and a pot of oatmeal with brown sugar, nuts, and dried fruit. The room accommodations were appropriate for my son and I, but if we brought the whole family, it would have been a tight squeeze. The pillows were soft and the room was clean and maintained. We'd definitely come back here, whether for the tournament or otherwise. read more

Good location very close to Fox River Mall, restaurants, gas station, and any general services that one would need. Rooms appeared to be recently renovated, which is a plus. I was disappointed that the gym was down for remodeling during my stay as that's an amenity I had looked forward to. Breakfast was pretty decent quality - hot foods included eggs, sausage, potatoes. Mid-point hotels offering free breakfasts have become really hit and miss post-Covid so it's nice to experience a real breakfast that's filling and tastes good. read more

Stayed here for business. A coworker and I were picked up by the hotel shuttle from the airport and she brought us to a local restaurant to get food and waited for us to pick it up. The staff was professional upon check in and out. The front desk lady also was not afraid to call out the random hockey clubs who had kids running around. That was the reason of our visit and I know how wild 12 year old boys are in a pack. Pool closed to kids at 10 which was nice. They did have a hot tub which considering our trip it was mostly below zero was nice. Breakfast was varied; lots of choices for the picky eater. Rooms were clean, hot water was scalding as I love it! Beds were a little firmer than we like so my husband did not appreciate those. But overall nice hotel for the price. read more

Hampton inns are a decent chain and this one is no exception. Decent sized lobby area with a snack shop and a reception area separate from the breakfast area which is included with your stay. The pool looked decent sized and the rooms were nice as well. Within walking distance to a Mall so shopping and restaurants were close Plenty of parking space. read more

Wow, we could've done a lot worse booking a room three days before graduation weekend at Lawrence University! We had no idea Appleton would be a beehive of traveler activity, and wondered why rooms were so hard to come by. Perhaps because Hampton Inn's pricepoint is slightly higher than your standard crap chain, people were opting for other hotel shores. Silly them! We loved our little double double room with ample desk space, a nice hip red chair and TV that we never turned on. The whole place was clean as a whistle. The kids enjoyed the somewhat small pool, and the hot tub. I like that the pool area goes 18+ after 10pm. Whether or not anyone actually uses it, it's nice to know Hampton is not about kids running around all night. I didn't take part in the free continental breakfast but the kids had enough to tide them over until lunch! Nice. No visit to the Machine Shed needed! Lawrence University is a straight shot down College Ave., Time Warner Field is very close, and so is the Mall. Let the bargain seekers have the Super 8, as you enjoy the clean comfortable Hampton Inn, Appleton. read more

Dog owners stay away! Terrible experience at Hampton Inn Appleton-Fox River Mall. Yesterday, I cleared my Mom's dog Riley for an overnight stay before booking a room at this hotel. We travel often, and I always ask for clearance prior to booking a reservation with my Mom's companion animal. My mother is an 88 year-old and in a wheel chair after she suffered a stroke years ago. Like the Wausau Hampton Inn (which was wonderful) Riley was cleared and we promptly checked in. This morning the front desk attendant rolled her eyes at me as I passed her desk. I said, "This animal has been cleared." She said, "No, it wasn't. Do you want to see the overnight report I have here?" I said, "This dog was cleared at 4:00 p.m. yesterday. I travel often and always ask before booking. I travel with a list of all her vaccinations that are up-to-date. We have a letter from her physician." She said, "You can get defensive. This is not a pet-friendly hotel." Traveling with someone in a wheelchair and companion animal is never easy. Working to do the right thing and being talked down to infront of the other hotel guests having breakfast was humiliating. People will forget what you said but they will never forget how you make them feel. I will never stay at the Hampton Inn-Appleton Fox River Mall Hotel again. read more

They were so friendly and helpful. We just walked in since the hotel we had reservations at turned out to be a place we did not want to stay at! They were quick to find a nice room and rate that worked for us. Very clean and modern. Work out room has a decent selection. Breakfast was adequate with a choice of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hot oatmeal, toaster with assorted breads and muffins, bananas, apple and oranges out all the time, cut fruit, Cinn rolls, make your own waffle, Greek and reg yogurt, cold cereal, juices, and hard boiled eggs . Friendly and responsive staff. Breakfast is plentiful and variety of options for this grade of hotel. Can eat healthy if you want. For a few nights of business, this place is great. I stayed at the Hampton in Appleton for a week for work. The room was OK, but especially for longer stays, it would be nice to have a few more amenities - a small fridge, etc. They offer one single-serve coffee maker, which was fine. I was able to use it for tea without issue. But for someone who likes their own brand or flavor of coffee, the maker would not work for you as it takes special cartridges to do anything other than make hot water. If you get stuck in a room with an adjoining door, be aware that the door is not at all sound-proof and you can hear conversations (normal volume, I might add) with no issue. Nose blowing, toilet flushing, water running, and other *ahem* noises come through perfectly well. For someone that has to get up early to work the next day (i.e. if you want to get a bit of sleep at a decent hour), that was probably the MOST annoying part of my stay. Drowning out the people next door was a problem on all but one night, and that was because nobody was there the first night I was checked in. The fitness center was more than adequate, and better than other hotels I've stayed in. They have two treadmills, an elliptical, a recumbant bike and a variety of weights. The pool is small and unimpressive, but nice that it's available. The breakfast leaves much to be desired. The fruits were browning and not real appetizing, and most of the rest of breakfast was a mix of standard fare - toast, eggs, cereals, and a small selection of yogurts. Nothing exciting. The only reason I stayed at this hotel is because it was stipulated through work. Otherwise I'd have stayed at the Comfort Suites, which is where I stayed the last time I traveled to Appleton for work. This hotel is nothing to write home about, but it's OK. Ask for a room that isn't adjoined, and you'll probably enjoy your stay more than I have. read more

Good Hilton property. I'm long time diamond level with this Hilton chain and have stayed at locations all over the world. This Hampton is very clean, modern and has a great staff working. Good location surrounded by retail and restaurants. The only thing I found strange was in room 135, there is no shelf inside the shower for soap or shampoo. So you need to place that on the toilet seat while showering and reach out to get it which of course gets water everywhere. read more

Excellent staff and a clean, contemporary style. When I first walked to the entrance of the hotel, there was a bellhop loading a patron's luggage onto a cart. He was dressed in the classic bellhop attire with a nice hat, double row of buttons going down his blue coat, and shinny shoes that clacked along the lobby floor as he pushed the luggage cart to the elevator. I was greeted at the front desk as I approached with a jovial smile a friendly "hello sir." The customer service was impressive right away. The lobby was large and had a small hotel shop for drinks, adult beverages, basic medicines, food, and other perishables. The hotel had a blue and silver theme with nice, dark wood furniture. This seemed to be the style of a mix between contemporary and traditional furniture design. I took the elevator to the fourth floor to my room. The first thing I noticed when entering the room was the gift bag and card the staff had left for me (thank you gang) and the fun, origami towel flower on the bed (complete with little rubber ducky). The room also had a contemporary feel with modern light fixtures, geometric furniture that optimized space, blue colors, and was very clean with plenty of natural light. It all had a very intelligent look. There was a new mini fridge, coffee maker, plenty of outlets in multiple locations if you needed to move work spaces and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom also had a modern feel with a dark, wood tile floor, smooth, sliding glass shower doors, and a modern faucet. The continental breakfast had an array of wonderful looking pastries, waffle maker, juices, yogurts, fluffy eggs, sausages and other delicious breakfast and brunch items as well. They always had fresh, hot coffee available morning through night. The staff would always smile and say "good morning" or "have a nice day." They were one of the nicest staffs I have every been around. The location is great as well. Plenty of quick bites to eat just across from the hotel. This was a very well ran hotel. The design, the furniture, the accommodations, and the staff all meshed well to contribute to one of the best hotel experiences in my brief stay last weekend. The only downside is that I wasn't able to stay long enough to enjoy all this hotel had to offer. They had a pool and workout facility that each looked fantastic. We got kicked out of lobby at 1030 p.m. was not willing to accommodate a location for all team members to hang out and congregate after a day of Competing. Little extras made this chain inn stand out. Two ottomans in front of the sofa included in the king bed room were a nice addition, the mini rubber duck sitting on the bath mat brought a touch of whimsy, and individual brewed coffee was divine for both the caffinated and decaf drinker. I stay here frequently and enjoy my stay the majority of the time. Very clean rooms, easy location to restaurants, etc. Staff is freindly and overall, is my primary place to stay when in town on business. This last time, I found some blood on the shower curtain which was, to say the least, a little disturrbing. Not a lot, in face a small dot, but it was immediately noticable. I am a little suprised since the rooms look clean. I mentioned this to the desk and they said they would "Tell the house keepers" and that was all.... Normally, I wouild rate this a 4-5 star, but it dropped a bit due to this incident. That aside, I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. read more

My husband and I have stayed in many different Hampton Inn's as we both travel alot and he has frequent hotel points. We traveled up here for the Packers game this weekend. We rented two rooms as there are others traveling with us. One thing I must say is that it is extremely disappointing that this is the first Hampton Inn that we have stayed at that doesn't have a mini fridge or microwave in the rooms. It is also rather loud with the adjoining door. We also requested a low floor away from the elevators and what happens! ? 4th (top) floor and you guessed it...right next to the elevators and ice machine! People were loud getting ice at all hours of the night. The room we got with 2 queen beds for our friends is rather small....I wouldn't want to have to share a room that size with 3 people. I must say on our next trip in town we will opt to go further north to Green Bay and stay. It will be closer to the game and hopefully quieter with at least a mini fridge and microwave. read more

Decided to stay here after I was unable to get two rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Oshkosh. Tried the Hilton Garden Inn in Appleton but they wanted a 3 day cancellation notice when using points (WTF right? This Hampton Inn lets you go until 6pm on day of check in to cancel). Turns out this was an awesome choice. Friendly staff on check in and it literally took about 30 seconds for her to hand me my keys. We actually had two rooms for this stay and during my online booking (on HHonors) I requested adjoinig rooms. This request was honored and all set up for our arrival. Once in the room I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel has apparently been remodeled and they are tastefully done. The rooms were very clean and smelled fresh. No left over hairs in the sink or on the floor (a pet peeve of mine...when maids leave that kind of crap it just shows they don't care). The lighting in the room is very good and there were additional outlets on the bureau that the tv sat on. Very handy since we had 6 people each with a cell phone and a couple iPads (good grief!). The breakfast is the typical Hampton Inn stuff but the lady that took care of the breakfast area was very attentive and showed pride in her work. I would definitely book a room here again without a doubt. And that recommendation is coming from a guy that is Diamond member at Hilton and probably a "hotel snob"... LOL. read more

Do NOT stay at this Hamptoin Inn the staff was horrible the room was not what we had booked and they wouldn't do anything about it. We booked through priceline and they totally screwecd us at the Hampton Inn in Appleton!!! Instead of giving us the room we booked 2 beds 2 people they gave us a handicap room!!! Pity the handicap folks who might have been looking for that type of room when they booked us non handicap into it with a supposed double bed which everyone expect those in the bed businesis aka full size bed. Oh, Dave at the front desk would have changed the room but he couldn't because priceline wanted us to have that room what a load of crap!!! He would give us a different room (the one we had originally wanted on the booking) for a another 90.00 this is graft! Do you have minus rating?
