We enjoyed our stay here, but there's room for improvement for sure. The good: the room and hallways were clean. Check in was easy. The breakfast selection was great (and included in the cost!). The hotel was quiet and relaxing. Room for improvement: the beds were HARD and the pillows were crinkly. This was surprising because other review sites rave about how comfy the beds were. There were also a couple things that were falling apart - the bar in the shower had one end cap/cover coming loose. They were minor things, but definitely should be repaired. Hotel was very clean, quiet and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was well maintained and stocked with a variety of hot and cold foods. We were in Oshkosh for a family situation, and choose this Fairfield inn for our week long stay, we have to say the staff was great, and very understanding of our reason for being in town, making us feel quite welcome, along with welcoming to our family when we got together at the hotel. It's a Fairfield...I don't expect greatness but the sheer amount of mold around the tub/shower was offputting. The exterior outside is also looking a little weathered. Even though I am a lifetime Gold member of Marriott, I would be looking at other hotel brands if my travels ever took me back to Oshkosh for an overnight stay. read more

Was surprisingly impressed with this hotel, especially after a recent stay at a similar caliber of hotel in Arlington, VA, which came with all sorts of quirks. We arrived after a ~3 hour drive from Chicago to 2 cookies left at the front desk. They were delicious. There was hot tea, coffee and hot chocolate available, even though we arrived in the late evening. Accommodations were comfortable. Loved the king size bed. Breakfast was more than adequate - anything you could want really: cereal, eggs, yogurt, waffles, toast, fruit, traditional breakfast meats...the works. My co-worker paid for the room, since it was a work expense anyway, but I think it was around $110 for a night's stay. Would definitely recommend if you ever find yourself in Oshkosh. read more

This is an above-average Fairfield property. Location: B+ Located right on Hwy 41, the hotel is very easy to get to and is close to both EAA and downtown Oshkosh. You will do best with a car as the only restaurants in walking distance are chains (Applebee's, Fazolis). Rooms: B+ Clean, comfortable and spacious. We were upgraded to a suite and the room looked recently refreshed. The beds are comfortable though bathrooms are cramped if you have more than 1 person. Be aware that ceilings and walls are THIN so you'll hear lots of hallway/highway/ambient noise - the people next door were feelin' frisky in the AM and we could hear WAAAY too much. Our climate control also didn't work well - we turned it down which didn't really accomplish much - our room was stuffy and too warm. Amenities: A There is a small pool with a hot tub, as well as a workout room. The breakfast is a step above most of the free ones out there - lots of hot choices including eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy and waffles. Staff: A Everyone we encountered was friendly & helpful Overall: B+ The convenient location near the highway comes with the drawback of road noise. There is nothing great about this hotel, for one night it was fine but I don't think I would stay there again. The outside is dingy and feels kind of seedy. I stayed in the winter and I would suggest they fire whoever plows and clears snow for them. Just know that when you book on the Marriot app, the pictures are not a true representation of what the outside looks like. As far as the rooms, they are showing definite signs of age but they are decent sized and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but as you can see from my pictures, they don't pay much attention to detail. Both the night stands had something sticky dried on them. There is also a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway, if you have allergies or are sensitive, don't stay at this "smoke free" hotel. It is also right on a highway so it is loud at night. I will say the sweet lady at the front desk was so nice and because she was so sweet I kind of feel bad about the two stars, she deserves 5. read more

This was an unexpected treat. After a rather long flight and drive to Osh Kosh, I was expecting just a clean and quiet room. This facility is undergoing renovation. I was out of the hotel early in the AM my first morning so I didn't really get to notice the construction noise. However, the second morning I felt like I was at my dentist's office with a lot of core drilling occurring. That being said, the room was rather small, but clean. The breakfast both mornings were reasonable. The biggest treat for me at the Fairfield Inn was the courteous and helpful staff. I needed to do a bit of wash and they were more than willing to do it for me! Not only that, but I didn't have my scanner and they scanned and faxed my documents (no charge). Housekeeping is wonderful and my room was fresh and clean. The Inn is close to a number of restaurants. Mind you this isn't Manhattan, but the nearby food spots were adequate. What detracted from the 5th star was the construction noise and the quality of towels. If I travel to the Osh Kosh area again, I will definitely give the Inn a second spin. read more

Stayed during EAA 2022 and it was better than expected. I had pretty low expectations based on other reviews, but honestly, it was just fine and got the job done. It's not a Four Seasons, it's a Fairfield. It was reasonably clean. There is a funky smell as others have described, but it seems related to their cleaning products. The staff were all awesome and worked super hard during their busiest week of the year. Looking for a place to stay -- it's fine. Thanks to the staff for all going the extra mile. read more

As a Marriott Bonvoy member and an employee of an airline; I have seen my share of hotel rooms. The smell in the room was sort of musty, the tub is old and had gray streaks in it which made it look dirty. My shower liner was also spotted with stains. I was not impressed, my room was booked in advance; however, it was a weekend the packers played. This I'm assuming is why I was given a room on the first floor near the pool and elevator which was noisy as hell. read more

Time to update this again. Previously, I reamed these guys out for posting some stupidly excessive rack rate and not indicating room availability for people like me who come here regularly and book well in advance (like, months). They've stopped doing that and now have a reasonable advertised rate and actually say when they have rooms available for when I want to stay there. One star back. Over the past month, my bride and I have stayed here twice, first, an overnight booked on fairly short order. We had a very enjoyable stay and the facilities and staff were at least as nice as we remembered from past stays. Another star back and I rebooked our perennial stay (a couple of weeks later) here away from another major chain. The second stay was a little glitchy (our TV would not receive HD channels, which was annoying enough for us to bring up to hotel staff) but the staff were very proactive in correcting what they could and making the rest of it right where they couldn't. I was very impressed by their follow-through and that put back at least one more star. I'm a fan again, and won't hesitate to recommend that you stay here if you're in the Oshkosh area. read more

Full disclosure: I received a travel agent discount for my stay here. I'm not normally a fan of Fairfield's, but this one was recently renovated, and it is just fabulous! The lobby is beautiful, and had a full breakfast spread available (even when we hit the road at 6am). They have a little corner market with drinks and snacks, so you just charge stuff to your room instead of fumbling for change, and the front desk staff was super friendly. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with the bonus of being quite stylishly decorated -- not always the case at a hotel! It had a mini-fridge, which came in handy, and aside from a fairly muted blowing noise from the heater, no loud obnoxious sounds. My only quibbles were that the only ice machine in the hotel was located as far from our room as possible (though they have conveniently left the stairwells open, so I could skip the elevator), and the hot tub was, dumb as it sounds, a little too hot. I could barely put my feet into it, and the skin was red for half an hour afterwards. There was some very minor traffic noise, but I had no trouble sleeping. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay -- this is a super nice hotel! read more

Great place. Easy to get to from US 41, close to shopping and dining as well as EAA AirVenture. Only 10 minutes from downtown Oshkosh. The lobby was stylishly updated and had tons of seating, with a wide variety of tables as well. The staff were friendly and always available. The cookies are a nice touch as well. The rooms have been renovated recently, with updated modern appointments. Free in-room wifi is a little slow, but it works. There's a free buffet breakfast that was wonderful as well - well-stocked, wide variety, and healthy. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the equipment was all functioning and we had no trouble with our stay. The pool is very nicely decorated - it looks recently renovated as well. When we first arrived, taking a quick dip was the first thing we did. We were the only ones in there at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, and the pool was warm and lovely and the hot tub was hot and bubbly. Very clean and attractive. Completely different story in the evening on Friday as well as Saturday, however, when a rowdy family was in there. It isn't a large pool, and 4 pre-teen girls plus 2-3 younger boys, with about 5 adults, made for a huge mess and a ruckus that made it nearly impossible for anyone else to enjoy the pool. We still tried, though. We waited out the family and eventually they left, but when we tried to dip in the pool we discovered that the water was murky and just seemed gross. No wonder, there had been around 10-15 people vigorously in and out of it for the past hour or so. The staff seemed to have very little visibility into the pool situation/condition, which is the only reason for my 4 stars and not 5. Would stay here again, but we'll stick to swimming outside of prime family time. T read more

Lots for the health conscious, like oatmeal, sliced almonds, walnuts, prepackaged Udi gluten free bagels (they put out one at a time for people who need gluten free), turkey sausage, eggs, salsa, and of course, the usual fare like waffles. What a wonderful experience we had at this place! We called Friday afternoon in hopes to get a room to escape predicted thunderstorms and Heather, the front desk attendant quickly booked us. She was so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with warm cookies, an exceptionally clean room and amazingly comfortable beds. We asked for recommendations for places to eat and were given several within walking distance. Before leaving we put some clothes to wash. While away at supper, the front desk attendant put our clothes in the dryer for us. How awesome! Saturday morning we asked for recommendations for activities in the town. The front desk didn't disappoint. She called for a taxi and even held our bags for us. Breakfast selection was super as well. We can't wait until we have a reason to return to stay at this place! This Fairfield Inn was great. Nice staff and exception accommodations. Since this visit, I am going to frequent Fairfield Inns more often.

We stayed here this past weekend for one night as we had a family funeral to go to. We requested a double room with a roll-away bed and were given what we asked for at no extra charge. As a matter of fact, when we explained we were in town for a funeral, they gave us an additional $10 off each room not only for us but for other relatives that were staying here as well. Now, about the hotel itself...recently renovated and is just beautiful! Bright and beautiful and the rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were most comfortable too. The continental breakfast was very good. In addition to cereals and yogurt, there was hot breakfast fare as well and was refilled promptly as needed. You could make your own waffles too. Also, instead of vending machines, they now have a small "store" in the lobby where you can buy drinks and snacks and charge them right to your room, which is nice when you don't have change to plunk into a machine. The people working here were very nice and accommodating as well. I will definitely stay here again when visiting relatives up north. read more
