Upon opening a drawer to put my things away this is what I found, two empty white claw cans.
Amanda K.

Stayed at this hotel for a quick weekend overnight stay for an event I was in town for. Upon entering the hotel it looked modern, clean, & nice. I was greeted by a very nice person who was extremely helpful. I also was able to call ahead and get in my room a little early which helped me a lot. They were very accommodating. I've stayed at Home2 Suites fairly often for travel, so I was familiar with their rooms. It was just what I expected and fairly clean, except for an incident we had. I was putting things away in the bathroom upon opening the drawer there were two empty white claw cans, gross! It just so happened that the person from the front desk was in our room for a TV issue and I discovered this. I quickly showed him, and he profusely apologized. He said this was unacceptable and that he believed he knew who cleaned the room and would address the issue. I gave the hotel grace since I travel quite often and they were exceptionally clean in other ways that some other properties lacked in. Overall, I would stay here again; the staff was really exceptional, and it was clean (with exception to the drawer incident). It was also a great location if you have anything in Appleton, WI. I'll be reviewing a local bar that had a super cool vibe in the area soon as well!!

I was very anxious about going home for the holidays. My family got tested, as did I. We quarantined for 7 days, per CDC recommendations. This hotel was rated the highest in the area and I can totally see why! My room was spotless, covid precautions had been taken. Upon arrival, after checking in, I was give a breakfast sheet to fill out. Since they can't set up a breakfast bar right now. They're making to-go bags. You fill out what you want & what time you'd like to pick up. (See pic attached) Their coffee bar is open around the clock, which was nice! The pool is also open by reservation only. All three nights I stayed they had more than enough availability. Overall, I'll definitely be staying here every year for the holidays.

Offensively bright green stairwells... lol

I spent two nights here while traveling in Appleton for work. I was with a coworker and both of our reservations were under my name; The front desk staff made the check in and check out process very simple and quick. We ended up leaving one night early due to a change in schedule and there were no issues with that, either. No change fees or anything. Very appreciated. The hotel is brand new. Very clean and nicely appointed. The rooms are spacious and decorated well. The fitness center is small, but it offers the essentials and that's really all you need. The equipment was all in great shape which is always nice to find. The breakfast was mediocre, but that's really the only "complaint" I have for this particular property. It snowed heavily one night while there and I thought the plow job of the parking lot was a little lacking, but that was pretty minor. Overall, would I stay again? Yes.

Though there was no one at the desk when I came to check in, they quickly arrived after I went to explore the conference room where I would be assigned the next day. I was pleasantly surprised at the kindness and courtesy of the service at reception. In fact every single person (I interacted with at least 4) at reception was friendly and accommodating. I even had one of the receptionists print some documents for me and there was no charge! The conference room was the perfect size for our audience and the air was cool unless we didn't close the door. *Note, the hallway outside the conference rooms gets really hot, since there are windows where the sun pours in all day. Refreshments that we ordered were always served on time and replenished when needed. Not a lot to complain about at this hotel! The room wasn't as modern as the lobby projected, but it was certainly clean and comfortable. My only other comment is that the air conditioning unit takes a bit to warm up before it starts working, so I could see customers getting frustrated if they don't have the patience to wait 5 minutes. I'll definitely be back!

Country Inn has a nice breakfast area. They also have a nice hot breakfast to get you going in the morning. The room was just the right size. I chose two queen beds. I really like the shades. One you pull down and you can kind of see through it. It blocks people from seeing in. Then you have the option of pulling the other shade down. That one is a blackout shade. I have to say when you get up in the morning, you have no idea what time it is. Nothing to say about the housekeeping. I really don't like the whole new deal with housekeeping since Covid. Most hotels do not clean your room every day like they used to. Country Inn cleans it every third day unless you request otherwise. I decided to opt out of housekeeping altogether. The shining star of Country Inn is Angel at the front desk. She is kind, friendly and genuine. Any special requests I have made she has been able to meet. She is willing to help you with any problem you might have and try to resolve it. As soon as I walked in a he remembered me and called me by name throughout my stay. That made me feel valued. I'm glad I made the switch to Country Inn. I will be a returning customer.

Disturbing and Disappointing Experience at DoubleTree Appleton, Wisconsin!…read more We were appalled and disgusted upon checking into our room at the DoubleTree in Appleton, Wisconsin. The bed had visible bloodstains, which is unacceptable and raises serious HEALTH concerns about the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene standards. To make matters worse, when we reported the issue to the front desk, we were told that they "don't do beds" and were offered only a set of sheets to resolve the problem. The staff member who brought the sheets even acknowledged that it was "gross" but didn't seem to take any further action. SHE TOLD US TO MAKE THE BED! The attached photo shows the bloodstains on the bed, which speaks for itself. We are extremely disappointed in the hotel's response and lack of attention to detail. It is inexcusable for a hotel of this caliber to neglect something so fundamental as cleanliness. The bathroom is not much better. The bathtub was grimy, and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO RESOLVE THESE MATTERS! Clearly, there is no loyalty in their brand. Being a loyal Hilton member, I would recommend that you stay anywhere else. *Rating:* 0/5 stars! I wish there were a negative star rating! *Would we recommend?* Absolutely not until they take serious steps to address their guests' bodily fluids being left behind, housekeeping, and customer service issues.

The staff is friendly and also willing to hold on to your stuff if you ever have to make another trip in the next few weeks. Obviously, you have to ask nicely or at least try to build a rapport with them. I was a little disappointed with the gym. It's only 2 treadmills, one elliptical and a set of free weights. Granted, I'd only bump into one other person working out at 6:30am, but the room is small, however Residence Inn Appleton does provide all the amenities that the Residence Inn franchises provide: television in the gym room, clean towels and a water cooler. The meals are pretty much standard fair: scrambled eggs, meats, waffles, and yogurt parfaits. I also like how they provide Nutri-Grain cereal bars or Nature Valley granola bars too in case that's more up your alley, or I'll take a few for a snack later in the office. The sink faucets are decent - not too much water gets inadvertently sprayed at you. I wish the shower had slightly stronger power (this was even after adjusting the Speakman shower head), but adjustment of the temperature was good. I'll probably come back to stay at this hotel since it's so close to the Outagamie County Airport.

I had to wipe down some white stuff off the chairs at the kitchen table. There were dishes in the dishwasher and I have no idea if they were clean or not. There were ants everywhere, and the TV only faced the bed and wouldnt turn towards the sitting area. Additionally, there was someone's debit card in my drawer next to the bed. Breakfast "buffet" in the morning was basically a waffle maker and standard bagels, bread or muffins. Yogurt and a couple hardboiled eggs, but 2 empty warmers that didnt even seem to be on for anything and signs asking that the breakfast buffet be kindly not brought back to the room. So my bagel, cream cheese, and paper plate couldn't be brought back to my room to eat in my bed, while I watch the news and not puppy dog pals in an empty breakfast room? All I can say is that the towels and sheets were clean, at least hopefully. Do not be fooled if you have stayed here in the past when it was a residence inn. It may look like it has the same features, but things are just covered up and stickers over emergency exit signs to cover the residence inn logo. Even the sign was just given a slipcover over it, as well as the ones that dont fit in the front breakfast area. I paid 77 for the night through Expedia, and and friday night was going for $313... If I was staying more than one night, I would have definitely complained and demanded a room change and discount if I paid more but here's my honest review.

I do stay in hotels a LOT! So it's really nice when you have such a great and nice staff. After having stayed at a few others in the area I have seen this one is a top choice. The cleaning staff do a great job (I hardly see them so I can't call out their names). The front desk crew Rhonda, Sam, Denise, Derek, and Chris are all super helpful with genuine smiles to help you with whatever you need. Mollie the front desk manager goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best it can be and when she finds out there is an issue she is super quick to get in touch or remedy the situation as soon as she can! The breakfast ladies, Karla during the week and Mary on weekends, greet you each morning with a smile and ensure the food is great, fresh, organized beautifully, and available. Me I have food allergies so they always make sure I have something I can eat. The beds are very comfortable with a different array of pillows which you don't always find at hotels. I've stayed at some other Marriotts where they were too big and made my neck hurt, but here they have an assortment on each bed to help you ensure a goodnight's rest! The rooms all have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. So even though they may not have a kitchenette I can still refrigerate and heat up leftovers from some of the nearby restaurants. Or prepare some store bought food, Woodman's is right down the street. I love the fresh decor and I have got to find where they bought the shade for the windows! Thank you to all the staff at Fairfield Inn in Appleton for making all my long stays wonderful! You guys make me feel at home!!!

I will say this, though: I wish I had done my due diligence like I typically do and read the Yelp reviews first. This is a huge NO for me. We had booked three nights, but after the first one, we found another hotel and spent the rest of the visit there. This place is horrendous. Imagine you looked up "cigarette burn" in the dictionary. This is the picture they would use. It still had a vague aroma of ancient Marlboro ashes, plus something else that was potentially more unsavory (mold, I think it was?). The front door lock didn't work. There were no lights in the parking lot. There were minimal lights in the main atrium. Everything in the room was damaged, dingy, old, and in dire need of replacing. It's the cheapest, dirtiest, most antiquated hotel I've ever spent a night at. I'm very grateful they did not charge us for the remaining stay. I'm guessing they're used to this by now, and it's easier to just free up the room again than to actually put money into fixing anything. You hate to leave reviews like this (well, I do anyway), but I really feel like it's a matter of time before this place folds and sits abandoned for eons. It's a real shame, too, because they have a great location next to the highway going up to Green Bay or down to Milwaukee. And it's a stone's throw from downtown Appleton. If all La Quintas are like this, then it's permanently off my list. Even for the price, it was not worth how skeevy I felt while staying there and even after having left. P.S. One positive I can say, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I feel that's more of a symptom of the region than of the business, though.

I purposely prepaid with Travelocity and apparently, the Best Western hotel system was not a fan of that. Our room was enormous. Bed was comfy. Pillows were comfy. Like most hotels, there's a placard on the door handle. 1 side states: privacy please. The other side of the placard says: needs housekeeping (or something like that). We hung this on the door indicating we were in need of service, but they never came to empty trash or provide new towels. My wife finally noticed a small sign in the elevator stating if you want housekeeping service, you must call the night before the day your room needs service. We finally went downstairs and got a couple of extra trash bags and towels. Like most hotels with a pool, their pool was also closed for service and renovation. The other pain was the main intersection at Wisconsin Ave x Casaloma (sp?) was closed for construction. Not the hotels fault, but something to be mindful of if you intend to stay here. That single intersection closure forced you to go well out of your way. Clean hotel and reasonably priced otherwise with great accommodations.
