We have stayed here twice once back in Oct. during the fox marathon and last night. The 1st stay was wonderful!!! This one was not, it was just ick. 1st the bathrooms are freezing it's awful in there. Also the tub was so slippery it felt like someone put baby oil in it, I almost fell. But the noises were the worse!!! The heater in the bathroom was so loud you couldn't hear the tv or yourself think for that matter and the pool had the most uncomfortable high pitched whistle. I assume the ear deafening shrill was coming from the lattice on the cold air return. ( ever hear of a grate... they make them) It definitely felt like a horror movie. read more

Our last stay was really at this hotel was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was absolutely freezing, and the tub felt dangerously slick to the point where I almost slipped. The noise was the biggest issue though. The bedroom heater was so loud and annoying, and the pool area had this constant high pitched sound that made it hard to relax at all. The hot tub is lukewarm at best. Between the cold, the safety concerns, and the nonstop noise, this stay was pretty disappointing. read more

Nothing sets the tone for a review when you see an old friend, Ben, really not like the place. I will always need help understanding things in a mid to lower-upper hotel. The room was very spacious. We asked for a king, but we were given two queen-size beds. Mrs. K. does not like the frozen tundra of the north. So she asked for an extra blanket, which was promptly delivered to our room. If you wanted breakfast, you had to go to their restaurant and pay for it. I just came from a less than a hundred-dollar-a-night Comfort Inn that provided a complimentary breakfast and fast WiFi. At the Double Tree, you must pay for high-speed internet. Parking was very interesting. The entrance was separated from the parking lot. You had to unload the car, then briefly go out on the street and into the parking lot. We came back late, and the lot was full. I was lucky to find a place to park. No amount of chocolate chip cookies will improve the faults with this chain. Why is it the upper-level hotel's charge for stuff the Econo place gives away? read more

I stood around the front desk for about 10 minutes trying to find somebody to help us check in. We came in late because of a delayed flight so stand there wasting time was really irritating. We pre-checked in with the digital key but the key didn't work so we didn't have a choice but to stand around and wait. The facility is very dirty, bathtub surround is just crumbling with mold, and all in all the places just wore down with lots of paint chipping and wallpaper peeling. read more

Good staff, free bottled water, free yummy cookies at check-in, nice hot tub but pool is unheated, pool area has lots of seating for relaxing, comfortable beds and rooms. I wish they had free robes and slippers, and I recommend going out for food - Lawlss or The Globe for breakfast and Appleton for lunch and dinner. read more

Good Hotel situated inDowntown Neenah where points of Interests are accessible and walkable , but then again downtown Neenah is small. Best part of this hotel is the waterway park is just less than block away where you can the walk/ run through the trails and enjoy the lakeside view. Hotel is very decent, staff are friendly and rooms are clean. Hotel has small gym and indoor pool so you won't miss your exercise routine. read more

For the price you're paying, this place was no cleaner or better than a stereotypical motel 6, in fact, I've had better experiences at those stereotypes. The hotel itself is due for lots of maintenance, its dirty- I found mold in several places throughout, the doors to rooms need replacing, the continental breakfast was shut down due to electrical/mechanical issues- you can definitely tell the building hasn't been well maintained for quite a while. We stayed here for a wedding where the bride and groom had rooms blocked, long story short, they were not prepared for the guests. I was told by the check-in clerk that all guests had the 7th floor, but only half the rooms were ready and clean, so I did not get to stay with friends/family, I was put on the 5th floor; it smelled like weed the moment we got there to the time we left. My parents sent pictures of their "ready" room, which consisted of a poop streaked toilet and hair wookiee shower (clearly the bathroom was restocked, but wasn't actually cleaned). Needless to say, stay somewhere else for a better stay, especially at 150.00 a night in Neenah- this hotel does not meet a Hilton Standard. read more

What a wonderful place to hold an event. The staff went well above and beyond to assist with every need, request, complaint or stressor. Jalissa and Mr Dan were available and served us with a smile and were absolutely friendly. They offered their expertise and set up and orchestrated a beautiful evening for our event. We stayed here 4 nights for a family wedding. The room itself was nice. The bathroom was old, outdated, and the light gave a whistling hum every time we turned it on. The door to the bathroom would stick so we had to give it an extra push to open/close it. Same thing with the door to the room. We checked in on a Wednesday. On Thursday, our room had not been cleaned and no clean towels. My husband went downstairs to pick some up. On Friday the room was cleaned. On Saturday, again, room wasn't cleaned, trash piled up and no clean towels. Both times, we notified the front desk. This is ridiculous. The rooms aren't cheap and we are paying for full service. We have always enjoyed Hilton type hotels and service. Not this time. Twice, no one was at the front desk and we had to wait until someone came out. The best thing about this place was the restaurant. Very friendly service and good food. Unfortunately, we will not be back nor will we recommend this hotel to family or friends. read more

I had a very long day, difficult travels due to poor road conditions and a snow storm, some back and forth activity. I needed a safe, comfortable landing spot. This hotel met my need. I was on 2nd floor by the elevator doors (usually never a good thing) this time it turned out well. Noise was limited. I was anle to get a goid night sleep. After a short night, I was up early for breakfast only to learn my car door was frozen and my key fob battery worn down to no help. Thankfully one of the night shift crew was able to help me out and saved my day. I am grateful for thus young man's help. He took customer service to a new level. Thank you, thank you. I wish I could give negative stars. My husband, a retired veteran who fought for our country, booked a two night stay here for us to get away. For some peace and quiet. We checked into the hotel with our four children in tow, so they could swim before going home with our babysitter. The man at the front desk said NOTHING about our children being there to swim, he never said they needed to be authorized, we were prepared to pay extra for them to swim. Two of my children ended up with fiber glass in their arms and legs from the hot tub. My husband and I went to McDonald's to get dinner. My youngest, with fiber glass in his arm, was having a meltdown. My babysitter did not have a key to the room and the man at the desk was very weird about letting her take my son to change. He then tried to hold the door open while my son started removing his clothes. He also asked very curiously, if I was going to leave my child alone in the room. My children went home with the babysitter. 930 at night, the people in the ajoining room were BLASTING music. Called the front desk to see if they could have them turn it down or give us a new room and the man hung up on him. My husband and I thought we would take a shower. The water temperature was literally freezing cold or scalding hot. NO IN BETWEEN WHATSOEVER. So we decided to just go to bed. The music from next door continues. It's midnight now, so we're leaving. We tell the different man at the front desk now. He says come back in the morning to speak to the manager. We return the next day to a lady at the front desk who said she was the manager when we asked. We expressed our concerns. She said you booked a room for two adults and came with all these kids who were not authorized. The man that checked us in the night before told the manager that we said someone did authorize the children which we did not say. We were prepared to pay extra for them to swim but we were unaware. My husband firmly told the woman we wanted an entire refund to which she replied, stop screaming at me or I will call the police. So we left. Tried to call one more time to speak to the manager on the phone and she hung up on me. We checked in at 630 7 o'clock at night and we left by midnight. We've now been charged 338 dollars including our deposit that was held for damages to the room, which there were none! We also cleaned the whole room before leaving at midnight. We've also been refused contact information for whoever is in charge. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH CONCERN FOR ANYONE THINKING OF STAYING AT THIS HOTEL EVER. read more

I really like this Double Tree. It's well kept, clean, in a great location, and has easy parking. What more could you ask for? The rooms are pretty standard size-wise. I really liked the overall theme and decor of the entire place, especially the rooms. Very nicely done. The beds are super comfy and the heating/cooling works very well. The staff were all quite friendly and seemed to genuinely care about their guests. That's always nice. I thought the room service menu was pretty impressive as well with a few items that sounds very good and not what I was really expecting. Overall, I will absolutely stay here again next time work brings me up that way. read more

Business traveler's beware. As a lifetime Diamond member, I can say this is the worst Hilton proprietary I have ever stayed at. Great location, unfortunately poorly managed. This is what the hotel management of the DoubleTree in Neenah considers clean. I have complained repeatedly, no action. If you request housekeeping, be prepared to chase repeatedly and even then your room may not get cleaned. No breakfast buffet during the weeks anymore, so business travelers beware, you will spend a lot of time waiting. Shout out to Debbie, Esmeralda, and the front desk people for being friendly, unfortunately they cannot do much given the poor management. read more

I thought maybe staying at a high class Hotel chain like Hilton would be great ; After dealing with Rachel the night manager my thoughts of high-class Hilton are out the door. When I had a question I called the front desk to inform them that the parking lot was filling up with non Hotel guests taking valuable parking spaces in a downtown setting. At 6 pm I wanted to leave and go to dinner after seeing the hotel parking lot full last night at 9 pm with paid guests, I knew I was not going to get a parking spot later that evening after I returned I thought that those spots are reserved for paying hotel guests. As for me paying a high dollar for a Hilton room I was way wrong. I had called the front desk to inquire about my observation the phone was given to the night manager on duty name Rachel .She informed me that I could park elsewhere and I was disconnected I wanted to ask another question but she pretty much hung the phone up like I was disturbing her dinner( " I think you know what I mean") with that said I already emailed corporate office of Hilton a Christopher Nassetta and told that person my story whatever you do take my advice do not I repeat do not stay at this Hilton read more

Stayed here in spring of 2017. Hotel was under new ownership (double tree) and construction. Rooms were a disaster (peeling paint, extremely dusty and dirty in all cracks crevices and under things.)--I say under things since we spent an hour the final morning tearing through rooms looking for bed bugs. Yep, bed bugs were found, their presence denied by staff and housekeeping and later when staff was told where bed bugs were, things got finally serious. The reality is bed bugs happen, being combative and denial is not a mature business strategy. Management was unyielding about both this and the fact the place was a disaster with a closed pool due to renovations. Crappy to continue operations when your hotel is not really functional. Especially more crappy to do this during a wedding. Yes, this hotel has been renovated but it was already clearly a double-tree which was used as a selling point for the event. read more

This was my first trip to Appleton for business and I was blown away by the incredible service at the Doubletree. They let me check in early and provided water and a warm cookie. The room service staff were friendly and food was great! The front desk text a few times to check in and both times were very quick in answering questions. I had forgotten to pack a toiletry item and they brought to my room complimentary. Very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the room! Would definitely book again for future trips! read more

This Double Tree was recently refurbished and it feels like a new Hotel. Everything in my room was nice. The queen bed was comfortable, they had soft and firmer pillows and the bathroom used Crabtree and Evelyn products. The staff was very friendly and I was very happy they had a filtered water dispenser in the lobby. My favorite part is it's walking distance to some good places to eat and Lions Tail Brewing; which is awesome. It's an easy hotel to recommend if your in the area. read more

I have not stayed at the Double Tree but I have to tell everyone to eat here! Their food is fantastic and their staff so friendly and helpful. If you get a chance to try their Friday night fish, make sure you check out the clam chowder, and their French Onion soup is the best I have ever tasted. Otherwise you really should have the breakfast buffet on the weekend. Additionally the premises are clean and well maintained. Chefs Terry and Larnie are so talented! As a Hilton rewards member upon arrival I was welcomed in with two bottles of water and a warm cookie. I was able to check in an hour early which was really nice and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable it also had an adjoining room (not a fan) I was woken up in the middle of the night by the people saying in there and their loud drunken chatter/ laughter. It sounded as if they were inside of my room. Normally I wouldn't get upset about this but I was really tired from driving 5 hours. So, I called the front desk and made a complaint they were extremely apologetic and made a call to have them keep it down. The next night the AC unit broke no air or heat, the staff was very accommodating and moved me into another room. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to keep me happy. The hotel has a nice pool/ hot tub area. Also, the restaurant downstairs has great food (somewhat pricey) all in all it was a great experience staying here. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel and every single staff member we encountered. This last Saturday we had arguably the worst night of our lives when my in laws were in a car accident. My father in law ended up at the hospital just a block from this hotel. We showed up at the hotel around 3:30 a.m. emotional, tired and overwhelmed. The two ladies at the front desk were amazing! They were very sweet, accommodating and flexible with our situation (we had no idea how long he would be in). They gave us hugs and warm cookies. This hotel was very clean, food was great, service was great and it made what we were going through a little easier on us. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone looking for a place to stay in Neenah. read more

My wife became very ill and I had to cancel the day before my trip. The hotel charged me a night due to their 48 hour policy. I called the general manager to explain, and his words: "so be it". I had our American Express travel service call, and got the same results - sorry, can't help you. So, I will say I get great care from Hilton normally, but beware of this one. I could tell another story about when they first opened up, but will spare the words. If you are a frequent traveler who's plan can be interrupted, try another place.
