I must admit that my time at this DoubleTree was extremely brief, flying into MKE late for a short business trip and not arriving at the hotel until after midnight was a marathon in itself! Then leaving at 8am the next morning left me with little time to really experience this property to the extent that I would have liked to. The hotel is located easily off I-41 and was happy to find free parking which seems to not be the norm at most DoubleTree properties I've stayed at. The day prior to arrival I received email notification that my room was upgraded to a Jr. Suite, which was very nice. Upon my arrival the front desk clerk was very quick to get me a key to my room but neglected to offer me a cookie, but since I was so beat from the long drive it didn't even occur to me until I got up to my room - so I quickly dismissed the idea of a late-night snack. My room (702) was extremely spacious with a very comfortable king bed, well equipped bathroom, great desk area space, sofa, large wall mounted TV and mini-fridge and coffee maker! The next morning, I got up and at 'em and was out of the hotel by 8am, no time for breakfast - grabbed a quick Starbucks on the way to the office and called it a day at the DoubleTree. Next time I am in the area, I have no doubt I'd stay again and hopefully that time will permit me with more time to experience and enjoy the property!

Filthy. Gross. Blood on sheets. I am so disgusted. How is this part of hilton. Bloody sheets. We called the front desk and she said the sheets were gross and she wasn't going to change it so we had to change it. Nasty bathtub, nasty door, nasty light switch.

    This place is filthy

I stayed here because the Packers were playing and rooms in Green Bay for a Motel 6 were going for over $600 a night This was only $109 a night At first I thought the place was okay but then when I woke up I saw a brown SH_T stain in the sheets and there was caked up dirt on the gym floor This place is disgusting My advice is don't stay here Just thinking about this hotel makes me feel ill

    Blood stained through mattress protector.

Blood stained sheets, stinky pool, and the cherry on top is that they made us change the sheets, she even said that it was gross and she would leave us the sheets here to take care of this biohazard, Really bro?

Was here a few weeks ago. Reserved a junior suite. I let hotel chose the room and they gave me room 700. Had issues with the sink draining and the overall layout of room. Sink was worked on but not fixed. Not truly a junior suite. This time they put me in the same room so I choose another room. I arrived at airport and the hotel shuttle wasn't running. Had to take Uber. Got to hotel and restaurant was serving by food. Then desk staff informed me the room I chose was not available and the only room available was room 700. Lock on door broken and slow draining sink still an issue. I can't imagine the rooms they give to non-Diamond members... Disappointed.

    Hair leading to drain.

I stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Appleton often for business. Front desk service and bar food and drinks are always good, but the cleanliness of the hotel is another story. I'm appalled right now at the shower drain in my room (room number 529 on 02/26/2020). The giant clump of hair is disgusting. I brought this up to the front desk immediately after finding the hair, but there were no more rooms for me to switch into... so I am not able to even shower tonight. This makes me second guess how well the sheets are cleaned that I'm sleeping on, or even if housekeeping cleans and disinfects my room at all. I'm so turned off by this Hilton hotel.

Don't worry about noise from the festival Saturday night. The festival ended at 5:30 pm and the city cleaned up the streets so quickly, it didn't even look like anything happened the day before. The staff was so helpful and polite. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. The workout room and hot tub was great. Parking garage next door. Rates for daily parking & in/out parking. Was a bit of maneuvering with the luggage cart to/from the garage to the hotel via the elevator. They use Uber for the complementary ride to the airport. I arrived in the evening and didn't know my way around the area to find hotel parking. I called and the service staff came out to point me in the right direction - much appreciated. Speaking of parking, the only bummer is that it isn't attached to the hotel. You're parking in a city owned ramp so anyone can park there. I happened to visit during an unexpected "peak" time because the ramp was very full so that made in/out a little less convenient. Daily rate is reasonable at $6 with $10/day if you want multiple in/out access. Rooms are cozy but quite snug IMO. There isn't much moving around room between the fireplace, desk and armchair. Appreciate all these "extras" but it didn't leave much room otherwise. Small touches like luxury robes and suitcase rack were nice.

We never mentioned our experience to the front desk. The lady working was always on the verge of tears. Upon check-in, even before she greeted us, she told us that she didn't know what she was doing. They were transitioning to a new system and she had no proper training. Management was not supporting staff and she felt completely overwhelmed. I had to be insistent on the phone to not book it which was annoying. There's some lack of information they provide: pool, parking and breakfast availability so we had to do some digging and ask when we checked in. We stayed here two nights. The decor is outdated. I'd say the room was decently cleaned, but they did leave a used washcloth on the shower. The worst part about this place is the noise. We were in 2402 and the sound traveled CLEARLY. I could hear conversations next door and a bit through the hallways. The door slams from other rooms woke me up at night.

I have to say when you get up in the morning, you have no idea what time it is. Nothing to say about the housekeeping. I really don't like the whole new deal with housekeeping since Covid. Most hotels do not clean your room every day like they used to. Country Inn cleans it every third day unless you request otherwise. I decided to opt out of housekeeping altogether. Extra shout-out to Lisa, who provided us with amazing recommendations for food and transportation to/from the Packers game! It's a Hilton, so you might already have an expectation based on past experience. Temper this with being in Appleton and it's still living up the reputation. A few minor cons... * We were in the South tower (I think??), and they only have one elevator, which is fairly slow and small. * The escalator up to the parking garage stopped working on our checkout day, so we had to haul our luggage up the steps. (If there was an alternative/elevator nearby, there was no signage indicating this). * The parking facility is across the street from the hotel, which made things a bit confusing. (It wasn't too expensive, though, and it was pretty simple to get in and out). * One of the bars/restaurants looked to be closed the entire time we were there, but again... no signage. All that being said, though, there are huge benefits to staying here! * Super-clean rooms! * Very comfortable living space and beds! * Nice modern design without being pretentious or posh! * Amazing staff!! * A Starbucks on the lobby level near the front desk! * Peak location in downtown Appleton near several bars, restaurants, attractions, and Lawrence University! * Several options in the hotel itself for lounges/restaurants!
