We both had the hickory bacon burger with fries. We split some jalapeño poppers. The fries weren't hand cut like you see in older reviews. They were shoestring style, but were good...just not what I was expecting. The burgers were good. The jalapeño poppers were different. The peppers were more ripened, red jalapeños so they were sweeter. It was good. The food came out quick and had all necessary condiments already in the bag.

1 Star I've given Destinations a few chances over time…read more Out of four visits, two were decent, but the other two--including my most recent experience--were awful. Yesterday 09/25/2026 around 5:30 PM, I placed a 4-meal order: a plain cheeseburger with ketchup and fries, a cheeseburger with everything and onion rings, a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, and loaded chicken nachos. I was quoted 20 minutes and arrived right on time. Despite the restaurant being dead empty, I still had to wait another 5 minutes for my food. I live right across the street, so travel time wasn't an issue, yet every single dish was barely lukewarm when I opened it at home. The burger buns were completely soggy, and the burger with everything literally fell apart while trying to eat it. The "loaded" chicken nachos were pathetic--barely any meat, almost zero cheese, and a tiny portion. Given how hit-or-miss this place is, this last experience sealed the deal. I won't be returning or recommending Destinations to anyone.

Visiting a friend that lives on a ranch north of Shawnee and he wanted to take us to Curtis Watkins…read morerestrauant for lunch. It's located on the Southwest corner of I-40 and McCloud road. I've driven by that location many times over the years and never noticed the restaurant. It does sit toward the back of the property behind and to the north of the Sinclair service station. The restaurant is typical small town; a throwback to another era before the explosion of chain restrauants. We were greeted by Curtis who opened the restrauant 47 years ago. The venue is causal and relaxed. The menu features all you can eat catfish for $14.95 and comes with a garden salad and two sides and a small bowl of pinto beans and hot roll. The menu has a variety of Southern comfort items such as fried chicken livers which one of my friends ordered. I ordered the all you can eat fried shrimp, with fries and fried okra. The hospitality and service are excellent. The food is good, the prices are low-moderate ($$) The noise was low.
