Healthy Catfish with mashed potatoes and beans.
    Scott G.

Broke down on a convoy in the area and limped to the parking lot next to Curtis Watson Restaurant. I had the healthy catfish with mashed potatoes and beans with a side salad. I've had a lot of catfish in my life but I've never had it "healthy" (no batter) and that tasted so good! It was incredible. Wonderful and fast service. I'd like to go back and take on the all-you-can eat catfish deal.

    1/4 lb burger and fries

This place has been around for years just off of interstate 40 east of OKC. They have been doing all you can eat catfish here for ever. You can pretty much get it anytime. They have several all you can eat options(see menu). It is Sunday just before noon and there were lots of cars but I walked in and sat right down. The place was busy with a steady flow coming in. You could tell tht a lot of them are regulars as they seemed to know all the staff and many other patrons. They have another large seating area behind the cashier and we're starting to seat folks in there. I ordered a drink and looked over the menu. I ordered a 1/4 lb burger and fries. It didn't take very long. The burger came with mayo or mustard, lettuce, onion and tomato. It was cooked and seasoned very well. The fries could have used a bit more time in the fryer but were ok. Not a very large order and it's separated from the burger. Ambiance today was the hustle of a small town diner on a Sunday after church. I got my bill and the total was 7.42 for everything. I did drink water which usually saves 2-3 bucks. Can't hardly beat the price. Was full but not over full when I was done. Curtis, the owner is there with his shirt and tie watching over things and helping if needed.

This is supposed to be a half chef salad.

Im going to miss this place. It ain't what it used to be. This time it was Chef Salads with half the lettuce portion, soured cheddar sprinkled all over and Ranch dressing thick as mayo and no ranch flavor. The restaurant has been declining for a while now. The prices used to reflect the quality now everything is overpriced. The elderly gentleman that was usually there to keep things running up to par hasn't been there the last few times we've eaten there. I hope he's ok. I don't think the restaurant would ever be the same without him. What a bummer. It was one of my favorite places to eat but we won't go back.

    Hand Breaded Onion Rings

Walked in on a Saturday around 1pm, THEY WERE BUSY!!! The servers are so cute in their little uniforms and we got seated immediately! I wished I got our server's name because she was great! She moves better than me for her age! 1/4 Cheeseburger was quite big. My mom only finished half and barely made a dent to the hand breaded onion rings! Chicken tender dinner was mediocre. Tenders were alright, the Mac needed some salt, the gravy was pretty daaaang good, and the onion rings were great! AYCE Shrimp was great! The shrimps were quite big! The beans... not quite a fan and the grilled taters were delicious. AYCE grilled catfish special was surprisingly delicious as well! Add a lil bit of hot sauce and that bad boy was gone!! AYCE catfish was where it's at!!! SO WORTH AND WAS THE BEST THING HANDS DOWN. Overall, the food was pretty good! The onion rings especially surprised me because it's lightly battered and you don't have that oily feeling after devouring them. Highly recommend to try this place if you happen to drive by. It felt cozy and offered delicious food.

All you can eat Catfish dinner

As a fan of hole in the wall restaurants, I had to try Curtis Watkins as I was passing though. It did not disappoint! It seemed half the people there knew each other, and they were equally as friendly to everyone who came in. Great service with great food came at a great price!

All you can eat catfish, all day long! I-40 exit 175 Oklahoma! Great little place to stop and eat!

They were open this morning so off we went. This little place is in downtown Shawnee. It's a seat yourself place with bar seating at the open kitchen. We sat at a booth and were immediately greeted. The service was great. Coffee was much better than what our hotel offered. I ordered the "sausage patty" meal which was choice of meat, choice of toast or grits and choice of hash browns or home potatoes with 2 eggs your way. I chose the bacon, home toast, and home potatoes. I was not disappointed. The home toast is made in house and was thick cut, buttered and griddle toasted. Yummy! Hubby got the western omelet with hashbrowns and enjoyed it. Son got the 3 buttermilk pancakes and hashbrowns. It was clean plates all around. We will def be back!

Road trips inevitably in my life lead to eating in a random location. Mrs. Ed W. will with concern…read moreask "Why are we stopping here?" My friend TJ3 experienced a similar showing on a recent road trip to Oklahoma City to watch an NBA playoff game between the Grizz and Thunder. It was the morning after the game, and after a few hours of sleep, we hit the road. Our voices were hurting from 48 minutes of cheering. We had to get home. We passed on the overpriced breakfast in the overpriced Renaissance hotel. After an hour on the road, I was starved. TJ3 had a conference call he had to take. He was hungry, too. The sign on the exit said "Biscuit Hill" something or another. Yelp showed nothing. Sounded perfect to me. So we stopped, pulled past a truck stop, and parked next to the only other car in the "area" for parking. I say that because the parking lot is basically an extension of the truck stop, although the restaurant is not connected to the truck stop. It's a dive. It's run down. It's dirty. I was starving. The sign says Biscuit Hill, but a sign in the half-broken front door says "Kay's Country Diner." Ahh, we have new ownership! I sat down at a table of 6 even though there were only two of us. I figured that was not a problem because there were 4 people in the entire restaurant: Ed W., TJ3, the friendly employee and a man drinking coffee by himself at a table that sat 10. I figured party size to table capacity ratio was not a real big deal for this place. I asked who I learned was Danielle what was good on the menu, and she said the breakfast burrito and the omelets. So that was easy. I had the burrito, TJ3 had an omelet. Danielle turned, walked in the kitchen, and within seconds started cooking. Yes, she was the hostess, cashier, waitress, bus boy and cook. I heard lard and/or something hit the griddle and the sizzling sounds began. Nice. And with that, TJ3 was outside pacing the parking lot for his conference call while I had nothing to do but soak in this soon-to-be Yelp first review. I needed some story. So who better to ask than the man sitting by himself, aka Gary. Gary explained that the restaurant had been around since the 60's. It looked like it. The walls were dirty, the furniture was a mish mash. There was a small television behind some counter stools that I believe may have been used on the television show Alice in Mel's Diner. Gary talked about different names of the spot, including The Hoe Down, but now it was Kay's. Danielle later filled in the blanks. Kay had owned it twice, one in the 90's, and now 3 months ago she bought it again. She brought back the old menu, and specializes in good ole home country cooking. "Hamburger patty, hand breaded chicken fries, homemade biscuits and gravy, homemade mashed potatoes" she said when asked what she enjoyed serving. I think I'll be stopping here again soon. TJ3 inhaled his omelet. My breakfast burrito was gigantic, and was heavy on the meat, light on the eggs. It included chunks of potatoes, jalapeno and other peppers, onion and cheese to go along with the voluminous portion of sausage and scrambled eggs. I like this spot and give it 4 stars because it's not trying to hide what it is. It's a hole in the wall. It's limited on beauty but makes up for it in kindness and food taste. So if you're in the area and starving, make a stop to this dive outside of Shawnee. If you can look beyond the grit and grime, I think you'll like what you find. Four stars.

The 50's-style diner setup is awesome, but the real fun is picking up the phone at your table to place your order. You don't see that anymore--and I absolutely loved it! We arrived just past the lunch rush, so things were nice and relaxed. I walked in thinking I'd order a burger... but the Chicken Fried Steak called my name, and I'm glad it did. Perfect portion size--not one of those giant plate-hogs--and served with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw deserves its own shoutout: rough-cut cabbage, creamy mayo dressing, and served cold just the way I like it. Everything on the plate was delicious. My wife went with the Chili Cheese Burger and potato wedges, and she gave it a big thumbs-up. And since it's a diner, I had to finish with a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. Let's just say--mission accomplished. Creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for.
