One of my favorite mom and pop shops. The staff is always wonderful and pleasant with us. In fact we go in often enough they know what our normal drinks are, and our go to meals are. Even after months of not going out due to Co-Vid we came in on a busy afternoon, was seated and greeted with a smile and had drinking brought to us without even being asked what we needed first. I've never had an item on the menu that I have not liked. The French toast is the best French toast I've ever had, the perfect equation of outside crisp to inside softness. I could probably go and and on for my love of all their food items, but its best you try for yourself! Im a foodie myself but my family isnt so my sister was hungry and wanted to stop and eat, this restaurant was the first we saw. Friendly is a great word to describe it. Home cooking is the menu. I ordered sides of fried okra (best I've had in years, and my Mom made great fried okra), collard greens were kinda plain (I prefer mine cooked with a littlw bacon or its grease) but they did offer a "pepper sauce" with it. I also ordered a BLT which was really good, simple, but good, bacon was perfectly crisp. My sister order fried catfish with side of fried okra, cole slaw and fried onion rings, she really liked all of hers (especially the fried okra:), she thought the slaw was ok, I really liked it. You could tell it was home made such a good cabbage flavor, she gave it to me & I happily finished it all. My bro-inlaw wasnt very hungry but he ordered 1/2 chef salad which he thought was good. The star of all meals was tbe fried Okra, bro even thought so. The blackberry cobbler was just OK, not my Moms for sure. Food is okay. Michelle is a great server. Owners are always dressed professionally. A couple servers are not very professional though. I've eat here several times and watched a couple of the servers undermine the others. Britney is really bad for it. It just takes one or two bad servers to make ya not want to eat here. Mr. Watson needs to watch his servers better and reprimand the ones causing trouble. Britney is a problem. She talks bad about the other servers to customers. read more

I haven't been here in over ten years and it feels like I was just here. This is a hidden gem from the past. The service is really wonderful and the food is just as good. Listening the the waitresses speak to all the customers makes you feel like you are at home. You really can't find a staff that could be any friendlier. The catfish was cooked perfectly and they have added some Mexican dishes that do not disappoint. The onion rings are a class three narcotic so be careful if you are trying to lose weight! Things started out just fine, with limited customers in the restaurant around 4:30 pm before the dinner run, but things went downhill quickly, two of us ordered the "all you can eat" catfish which came with two extra pieces of fish like always, then things took a turn for the worse, I ordered additional fish but the reorder was never hung up on the order carousel, I know this because there were no other orders currently hanging there so 15 mins later I asked again, and another 15 minutes passed and still no reorder, as it turned out my friend didn't eat his additional 2 pieces so I elected to eat those "cold" knowing we needed to leave soon. As we started getting up the waitress brought the fish out but it was too late for us to sit back down to eat them. Here is where it really got interesting, I complained to Mr. Watson and I suggested a compromise: he should charge my friend for just a dinner, and myself the all you can eat (a $2 difference) and I would have been satisfied (not great but, ok) but at least we would have remained a customer like I have been for MANY years now, but that all changed when he absolutely refused to compromise! He stated that he couldn't afford to do that and apparently preferred to loose me, as well as the additional people in my party as customers, two of which just moved to this area so I figured they too might become regular customers. I promise this: they are as dissatisfied as I am with Mr. Watson's attitude. I have managed several tire stores over the years and I would try to do everything possible to make a customer satisfied even sometimes costing me a whole lot more than just $2. Mr. Watson suggested we take the two pieces in a "to go box" but we were on the way to a movie so that wasn't going work. Just a footnote: the dinner rolls came out 2/3rds of the way through our dinner and we were offered zero refills of our drinks, I think the waitress was probably new so I could have overlooked that, but I am pretty sure that Mr. Watson has been there a day or two! So much for the theory that the customer is always right. With all of that said, I will NEVER go back, and if you are reading this I would recommend you steer clear as well !!!! I would have given just one star but I think the waitress did do her best. read more

Worst enchiladas EVER. I've had $1.49 frozen enchilada dinners from the store that were better. Tasted so bad that i stopped eating after 2 bites. Told the waitress they tasted bad, but she could have cared less. So, we didn't care to leave a tip since they didn't hesitate to charge me full price for something inedible. My wife had the chicken fried steak. No batter on the steak, but they did put gravy on it. Tasted petty bland. She ate half and called it quits. Really delicious meal it was as other people have posted a little greasy here and there but aren't all the really tasty thing's usually kind of greasy? It wasn't bad in any way shape or form but if you're on some sort of a diet or you don't like greasy food, it's probably not the best choice. I'm sure they probably have other options that are more health conscious, but again mine was absolutely delicious! I had a Big Bang. She did forget to bring me some silverware. I have lived in the area all my life and had not tried this place until recently. The food is excellent and the service is, too. No, it is not new by any means and it probably has not ever been remodeled, but in my opinion that only adds to the charm. It isn't often that a business can proudly say they have been serving customers wonderful, homestyle food for 44+ years. The Watson's can and I am so glad that we finally decided to give it a try. Happened on this quaint place this weekend while camping at the McLoud lake. The food was awesome ! Real southern Mac and cheese ! We got grill and fried fish and shrimp . Everything was fresh hot and so good . The only one thing that was not great was the bread but was not a deal breaker . The waitress was such a lovely sweet person . My mom got breakfast food and thought it was great. And I got the catfish dinner, which is PLENTY for me, I would never get any use out of the all you can eat meal. It was so very good, perfectly seasoned and great breading but the tarter sauce was just bad. Lots of mayo the coleslaw was really good, it could possibly be my new favorite! I really like this restaurant! The servers are all nice and it's almost like a blast to the 60's. This place was my dad's first job in 1991 when he was 15 he was a dishwasher! He even got a butter knife that he scratched and used it and every time we go there it's so fun and he tells me about all the cool story's working right behind that counter. Most Sunday's we go there. Most of the employees unfortunately do not wear masks so we haven't been going to much since the pandemic but most of the waiters and waitresses wear masks but nobody in the kitchen does. I love going there cause they give kids a dum dum sucker when the grown-ups are paying! Definitely an old fashioned establishment. Most likely established in the 50's and hasn't moved along with the times. Woman only servers required to wear matching skirts with their blouse uniform. 50's values. Food was great, servers were amazing. Bathrooms felt like a storm shelter, cold burr! A very average place but great because you could come in pajamas and be just fine. The definition of a country eating restaurant. Ok this place is old fashioned. Place itself looks run down from outside and inside. But it is pretty clean from inside. Next customer service was good. I was greeted as soon I walked in. They provided service right away. They have old fashioned dress code for waitress. You donot see this alot. My food was fresh and hot. Food is nothing spacial but has home made taste. Prices was reasonable. I paid 7 bucks for sandwich,salad, and fries. So I recommend this place. Reason I am giving 4 stars cause this place has potentials. They can even do better.
