Brown Derby Drive-In - Fast Food Near Me - Shawnee, Oklahoma

We finally tried Brown Derby after driving past it for a couple decades. It was usually closed on the days we'd be going through Shawnee. It was good. We both had the hickory bacon burger with fries. We split some jalapeño poppers. The fries weren't hand cut like you see in older reviews. They were shoestring style, but were good...just not what I was expecting. The burgers were good. The jalapeño poppers were different. The peppers were more ripened, red jalapeños so they were sweeter. It was good. The food came out quick and had all necessary condiments already in the bag. read more

2nd time they didn't put peanut butter on my penut butter milkshake consider you ask before you leave

Its not what it used to be. The food has changed ever since it has bought and sold. The menu may be the same..but taste and quality are just not up to par read more

Most rude and unprofessional worker imaginable. My wife placed an online order. The system said the order was not processed, but her credit card was charged. She called the restaurant and the worker, rudely, said no order was received. The worker said the best she could do was take her name and number and tell corporate (basically saying "what do you expect me to do?"). My wife gave her first name and number and was trying to give her last name when the worker mouthed off. My wife responded accordingly and the worker hung up. The worker was extremely rude from the beginning of the call and gave the impression that it was an extreme inconvenience just to answer the phone. People like that should not be in positions where they interact with others. We will not be back. read more

My family has been coming here for years it opened when my grandparents were in high school in the 50s and ever since my family will always stop by when we go through Shawnee, I finally got to try it today and it's perhaps one of the best burgers I've ever had and the fries were very good it's still got that nice 50s and 60s feel and is perfect for family and it has nice staff. I recommend for people wanting something good to eat and experience a bit of history. It's cheap prices too all together my order was $5 or $6 read more

Very glad that you're open again! My husband bought cheeseburgers and fries, he really liked the cheeseburgers but he's not crazy about the thin french fries. I love the french fries I really like thin fries, all in all the food was really good. read more

Stopped in this little place when passing through Shawnee last week. Really a good place to get a burger. I like the small town Mom&Pop places. It's a same not many still left around. The food was good and the shake was a nice cool treat. If your passing through I'd stop in and enjoy something that's old fashioned. read more

Brown Derby Drive-In - a menu on a board - Fast Food Near Me - Shawnee, Oklahoma

It's an old style burger joint, keeps it simple and delicious. Anyone complaining about grease doesn't understand what an old style burger is. read more

Parking here can be difficult, and the place isn't exactly sparkling inside. But if you want a good, old fashioned, greasy burger and "floppy fries," you've come to the right place. read more

I seen this place was filled with cars at the drive in so I decided to give it try. I pulled in and notice that the menu board and button was on the passenger side. Great if you have a passenger but in my case I had to get out my car and walk around and push button. I ordered the double meat burger and fries that came up to 6 dollars. Fast service and the food was cool. I recommend if you are in the Shawnee Oklahoma area to at least try it. It gives you a 1950s feel. I give them three stars because of me having to get out the car to order. Just pay attention to the menu board location. read more

I cannot understand why the health department lets this place stay open. See for yourself get out of your vehicle and walk up to the window and look in, it's filthy inside. The food is well what can I say frozen everything thrown into old oil that gets changed maybe once a month. It may be old but that sure does not make it good or sanitary eating. I guess the city is just that desperate for tax revenue. How sad read more

I have no idea why this place has been open for so long. If I wanted someone to not wash their hands and prepare me a hot dog boiling in sneeze water I would pull on into the Brown Derby. read more

I love your French fry sauce! Oh wait! That's grease!! If you like over cooked burgers with limp greasy fries then this is your place!! Blows my mind this place is always busy. read more

If you are looking for health food, go somewhere else. This is an old fashioned burger joint where the hamburgers and fried are fried. If you don't like greasy food, stay away and do not give it bad ratings because you have been warned. If you like this kind of food like I do, then you are sure to love it. read more

This is an old fashion drive in hamburger joint. We enjoyed hamburgers, fries, and a Dr.Pepper for less and $10. Service was fast and friendly. The only draw back is the state is redoing the highways in front, so its a little messy getting in and out. But we will definitely be going back. read more

OK here's the deal. . . It's an old diner that fries food! No soy beans here. If you are looking for a greasy old fashioned burger and hand cut fries which are greasy as well, this is your place! It's not a fancy sit down place, but a jump back to the seventies and earlier with hamburgers cooked the way they used to be and were meant to be. Give it a try. I'm sure you'll be back! I will! I assume the bad post were written by some generation x or Pepsi generation that didn't know any better. read more

We decided we wanted a great burger, we were told by multiple people that Brown Derby was the way to go. I was disappointed, I'd rather eat at Sonic and I'm not a big fan of Sonic. When you arrive at this vintage ran down burger hut, you expect great food. I grabbed a corn dog for my son, it's just a cheap frozen corn dog. I ordered a Steak sandwich, it had to be a cheap frozen pattie. I was expecting a Del Rancho, or Chuck House quality steak sandwich. The burgers were just as good as anywhere else. If you have zero expectations for this place, it's probably fine. The price for a burger, fries and a drink are close to and other fast food restaurant. read more
