I added bacon and jalapeños to mine. We also had an order of fries each. Let's get the fries out of the way....wilted and lackluster. Now for the burgers.... First off, the bun was bigger than the patty and was too thick, chewy, dry and felt like it was not fresh. Now for the patty....wow...just horrible. The patty was dry, black, over cooked, smaller than the bun and had burnt black onion shreds on it. This was supposed to be an onion burger....where are the onions? We also asked for mayo on both and there was hardly any on both burgers. A huge disappointment to say the least. Bottom line the food was trash! If you need any recommendations for a real great onion burger in Oklahoma....just ask...happy to recommend.

I'd heard about Oklahoma's famous onion burgers for years, but somehow never managed to try one. With a conference taking place across the street, Tucker's gave me the perfect opportunity to finally check that box. I'll be honest--burgers usually aren't something I seek out unless there's something unique about them. This was different. The Oklahoma onion burger absolutely lived up to the hype. Simple, messy, flavorful, and a great example of a regional specialty done right. The staff was courteous, the service was quick, and my food was out before I knew it. In fact, it was so good I ended up tucking my tie into my shirt to keep it out of the way. If you look closely at my photo, you'll spot my tie bar sitting on the table after I surrendered to the inevitable. The napkin dispenser's warning--"You're going to need them"--turned out to be pretty accurate. No regrets at all. If I'm back in Norman, I'll happily stop in again. If you're visiting Oklahoma and want to try something that's actually part of the local food culture, Tucker's is worth the visit.

I had the Original Cheeseburger and fries. The brioche bun was soft, the cheese was perfectly melted, and even the lettuce was noticeably fresh. The burger was seasoned really well, but not so much that it covered up the flavor of the meat, you could actually taste the burger! The fries were hot and crispy with some kind of light coating that made them extra crunchy. Really good! It's not a huge place, but there are plenty of tables if you want to eat in. We also noticed quite a few people coming in to pick up online orders while we were there. They have specials during the week too. Tuesday is BOGO half off cheeseburgers, so I already know when we'll be going back!

The 50's-style diner setup is awesome, but the real fun is picking up the phone at your table to place your order. You don't see that anymore--and I absolutely loved it! We arrived just past the lunch rush, so things were nice and relaxed. I walked in thinking I'd order a burger... but the Chicken Fried Steak called my name, and I'm glad it did. Perfect portion size--not one of those giant plate-hogs--and served with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw deserves its own shoutout: rough-cut cabbage, creamy mayo dressing, and served cold just the way I like it. Everything on the plate was delicious. My wife went with the Chili Cheese Burger and potato wedges, and she gave it a big thumbs-up. And since it's a diner, I had to finish with a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. Let's just say--mission accomplished. Creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If you love classic diners, friendly service, and comfort food done right, Hamburger King is absolutely worth the stop.
