The Black Raven has a classic pub atmosphere, so we really enjoyed that. I was disappointed that many items on the menu were not available, including the bangers and mash and shepherd's pie. Local small business that oozes charm and everything is made from scratch. If you are in Harrah visiting you need to make this a stop. We love the cottage pie, corned beef and cabbage and homemade bread pudding. We haven't tried the chocolate cake yet but will next time we come. UPDATE: the black Raven has become more consistent with their hours. The service has been great every time I've gone as of late and really enjoy the live music when it plays. I took one of my sisters last week that had never been and she said it's the best burger she's ever had. We always get the banger burger. It is so good. I highly recommend it. The Reuben is incredible as well. He makes his own corn beef. There's really nothing on the menu that I've tried that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. read more

Started with the scotch eggs, they are Big and cooked perfectly, served with a great mustard absolutely worth the price and tasted Great. The main meal was Bangers and Mash, the bangers were great with good spices, the potatoes were good, the gravy needed a little seasoning but all in all, the meal was great and you got plenty to eat, the service was good decor was fantastic it did remind me of some of the pubs I spent time in during my 8 years in England, I would recommend the restaurant and I plan on returning to try the fish and chips. read more

Wow! What a wonderful surprise! Every single plate brought to the table was absolutely amazing! We had soda bread at the table that was legit! I then had the Raven Burger and fries. This is not a typical boring burger. This beef and pork mix burger was so dang flavorful I almost don't believe it! Go get it now! We were in town for the Polish festival, and on our way out we saw the Black Raven and decide to check it out. The inside was unassuming, but completely full. We were able to grab a table by the bar and ordered a round of beers and fried mushrooms to start. These mushrooms were HUGE! The breading was very crispy and rich. I ordered the rueben and my husband got the corned beef. The BEST rueben I've ever had. Period. Ruebens can be dry, but the corned beef was perfectly moist. Loved the colcannon side as well. When we asked about the food an hour and 20 minutes in, there was no apology and the waitress said "we are short staffed", rolled her eyes and walked off. Have been coming here for years. Great local hangout where you can get to know the staff. There's usually a performer on weekend nights. The fiddle player creates a perfect lively Irish atmosphere. It's always a friendly and fun atmosphere here. They have several good tap beer options and a great whiskey selection. My menu favorites are the onion rings, corned beef, and soda bread. The fish n chips and burgers are good as well. Ordered the peat bog which is "chips" smothered in shepherds pie & cheese and the bangers and cheddar appetizers and almost had to lick the plates clean due to deliciousness. The irish martini is STRONG, so not my style but the on tap Strongbow Hard Cider was. I even had one where they added cinammon whiskey and it tastes like cinnamon apple pie. We hadn't been to the Black Raven in Harrah since before covid. By luck we were in Harrah on another matter around dinner time & decided on a return engagement for one of the best Irish repasts around Central Oklahoma. We started it off with the Peat bog an appetizer consisting of Irish chips, cottage pie mix, topped with Guinness cheddar cheese, delicious! Our party was hungry so we decided to try as much as we could. The corned beef and cabbage was full of flavor with a serving large enough for three people. The fish and chips were with traditional Irish chips and had a golden brown crust over tasty white fish. A cottage pie (similar to Sheppard pie but with beef & pork) came out with a mashed potato covered deliciousness. Beef and Guinness stew rounded out our main course. We topped it off by splitting two desserts, an amazing chocolate cake, & a bread pudding straight from the oven. An Irish fiddler entertained us all evening. We have been there a few times and wanted this to be our go to for our monthly dinners. As of this evening that would be a NO! We arrived at 6, they open at 5 and was informed that the ingredients for the Ruben would not be ready til 7. Ordered beers to wait. At 7;00 was told another 15 minutes. Asked for another item for myself and was told in the end all he had was fish and chips, had the steaks but were not cut so "Don't have those". In the end came out at 8:15 with to go boxes with salads. Got home and the salad was something I could have gotten on a bag from the store. According to the owner, while he had lots of help, it was just him and a cook. Claimed he was just soo busy he could not keep stocked with food. Hope he decides to understand the amount of food he needs OR maybe he does not care because people will just except what he has and get over it !! read more

Oh, how I love finding new places on a whim! When we sadly found out that Old Germany closed, we ended up searching around and found The Black Raven. As I walked in, my excitement grew due to the fact this little joint had a band. Let me tell you that this Irish band is pretty impressive! I don't know if they have an actual name or if they are there regularly, but they were terrific. Of course, I didn't know any of the songs that they played, which didn't matter, because there was one time where I stopped eating and talking to bask in whatever song that they were playing. I had the Shepards Pie and my boyfriend had one of the Ribeyes with potatoes. The shepherds pie was tasty, though slightly dry. I just wanted a little gravy with the meat mixture. Also, it was just the right size that I didn't have to think about taking leftovers. Nonetheless, I would order it again after I went through the menu because I had a hard time choosing. My boyfriends' ribeye was on point. It was covered with the most delicious mushrooms I've ever eaten. I would personally, order just that as a both of my sides if they had that available. The ribeye was good, but in my mind, the mushrooms were the star of that plate. Don't judge me!...lol. I can't wait to go back. The waitress was very attentive and gave great service.
