I am a regular customer and a member of " The Liar's Table" group. The food is top notch and well prepared by the chef " David", who also is the owner and operator of David's Cafe. It's open every day, 7 days a week. It opens at 8am until 2pm Monday through Saturday and is open 8am until 12pm on Sunday. His specialties are fried pies and fresh biscuits, and he bakes his hamburger buns. All orders are made fresh when you order your meal. His biscuits and gravy are made fresh to order. Each order of gravy is made when you order, it's not sitting in a pot on the back burner! I've been going to David's Cafe for about 7 months, almost every day. First-time visit and I was so impressed! I love how patriotic and welcoming the whole environment is. David is a true chef -- everything is homemade, fresh to order, and absolutely delicious. We tried the country-fried steak, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and the country potatoes and fried pie.. every single thing was amazing! Gloria was incredibly kind, constantly checking on guests, clearing tables, and providing exceptional customer service. They truly exceeded our expectations, and we're so happy we stopped in. Hunting something for breakfast and found David's Cafe. Was NOT disappointed! Super nice folks. Great food and plenty of it. Very reasonable prices. This is a hidden gem!! Just ate the breakfast, food was perfect! Please order the fried pies!! We got them to go but they are made to order but they didn't even make it to the car! We ate them warm and the crust is a family recipe, so light and flakey and the fillings were made from fresh peaches and blueberries. Not too sweet, tasted so light!! Delicious! Always heard about this place never been, on a wild ass hair decided to check it out. Ambiance is awesome USA military decor very clean hometown look. Service is what you would expect from a hole in the wall good conversation and excellent service. Food was awesome came out very quick, one of the few places that knows how to cook over medium eggs the right way lol. Table next to us got a hamburger that looked amazing, so we will be back soon to try out the hamburgers. Don't overlook this place give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

My wife and I were staying in Shawnee for weekend casino trip. We looked up breakfast places and found David's cafe. We decided to try it out. It is very quaint and only holds about 6-7 tables. My wife and I met the town regulars. Very nice individuals. My wife ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. I ordered eggs, sausage, hash browns, and a pancake. We were enjoying a ride in the country and drove through Earlsboro. We stopped in at David's Cafe to eat lunch. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak dinners and fried pies for dessert. I live in Shawnee and my parents were in town, so we finally decided to take the 15 minute drive to David's for a late breakfast/early lunch. It's the perfect small town cafe! My mom loved her burger! I tried it, and it was delicious. Apparently, David gets up early enough to make his own hamburger buns (I mean, how many places do that)! I decided to have breakfast, just the standard 2 eggs, bacon and potatoes. It was all wonderful, especially the potatoes (the blueberry pancake I got on the side was fantastic as well). My dad didn't say much about the catfish, but he's been having health issues and I think that's why because I tried it and it was pretty darn good. I highly recommend! I definitely will go back, especially since I didn't get a fried pie as we were in a hurry. read more

Delicious!!! The breakfast skillet was amazing! It's a layered skillet with crispy hash browns, fluffy biscuits, sausage patties, cream gravy with eggs of your choice to top.... we split it and added a pancake. The pancake was so good - a good old fashioned pancake... yummy!! David is very a accommodating and a good cook!! The coffee and tea were both good and fresh and the bathroom was immaculate. Had the best patty melt ever. Don't get the crazy idea that this place is fancy, but the owner-cook-server is accommodating and he certainly brews up delish tea - fresh and plenty of it. We were too full for a fried pie but that's on my "next time" list. I can't wait to go back for Friday night all you can eat catfish. read more

I love this place. David knows what he's doing in his kitchen. He makes a perfect Ruben sammich & Ruben sammiches are my favorite. So I really appreciate a good one. Because most places just suck at the attempt. His breakfasts are also outstanding. Im sure everything else on his menu is just as good. But I can't seem to pass up his Ruben & try something different. Also, David & his wife are both very cool & genuine people. This place is a total dive. However the food was surprisingly good. I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and my husband had the big breakfast. The place itself is pretty dirty, with rustic decorations. The price of the food for breakfast was also a little higher than we would have expected. read more

The food was really good. Had eggs , bacon and hash browns. It just needed a good cleaning.

This is a wonderful place to eat. He has a good menu, but my wife and I like to order items with a little twist. He remembers what you like and will ask if that is what you want the next time you go there. He makes the absolute best home fried potatoes and cooks eggs to a turn and always embellishes your plate with a fresh garnish. My current favorite is his pecan waffle. It is to die for. If you like pecan waffles go there for breakfast or anytime he is open. My wife and I love his fried pies. He makes them all by hand and will make one while you eat your meal. David is very friendly and will make you feel at home. It is a very small and rustic diner that I heartily recommend. His hours are geared to breakfast and lunch until 5:00 and is only open for dinner on Friday. I've heard great things about his catfish, but I've not had any because we haven't been there on a Friday evening , hope to make it soon. Missing fifth star is because some people think to be 5 star it needs to be modern a and"classy". David is a very experienced and knowledgeable chef. He just isn't in the greatest location.
