This was my first time trying Native American food. I was really excited and also recognized that it was fast food. The portions were large, tasted great, amd prices were reasonable. The main reason I'm giving 3 stars is because when I entered many dining tables were dirty, though they wiped tables as I was finishing up. It wasn't that busy for the place to not be cleaner. The employee plating my food was a teenager, mind you. So he's probably still learning. But he wasn't neat or precise. This may not be as authentic as one would imagine, but it absolutely plays the part! The kids up front don't know much in terms of just making it, but they are working and that's really all that matters. The fry bread was delicious and perfectly fried. Not too greasy and not crunchy. It held all the toppings as it should have, but cut through with a fork and knife. The ground bison was flavorful while the green chilis could have been a little better if they were warm. They were good flavor, but they were cold. The prices were very reasonable with $7.99 toppings and $8.99 if you choose bison. In my experience all the food has been freshly made which puts some people off because they're not used to waiting a few minutes for fresh frybread. My opinion? If you're in a big hurry try the slow Sonic down the road. Ambiance isn't much but typically clean and temperature appropriate. My family and I decided to try this place today. Think Subway, but with frybread tacos. You go in and pick your meat, beans, veggies, cheese, and sauces. They also have some kid friendly options, such as: corn dogs and chicken nuggets with fries and cookies. They also have dessert options. The service was great and the young lady working the front end was friendly and gave excellent service. There were multiple tvs to watch a variety of shows while you ate. The seating was comfortable. There was plenty of spacing between you and other diners. As far as the tacos went, I would say they were decent and filling. I couldn't complain about the price, either. First time that I went to this establishment, my friend and I ordered a fried taco and we both got terribly sick. The service was slow. The food was bad not to mention. I think it was a bit overpriced. That was the first and the last time that I ever went there, and I will not be back. You really dropped the ball there fire Lake. So my hubby was excited for this on our OKC, he is native and loves Indian tacos but we don't get to do them at home much at all. We walked in and the lady kept looking out the kitchen window. Opened the door several times but never said anything to us. It took her 5 minutes to finally say anything and it was give us a few more minutes. She finally came and acted like we just ruined her day by eating there. She made up our food. Indian tacos are essentially flat bread with what ever topping you want. So yes like the other reviewers subwayish, My husband and son got bison, they loved it said it was very flavorful. I got the ground beef. It was gross! Gross gross gross! I'm glad my hubby enjoyed it. But I wouldn't want to eat there again because of the bad service. New management might change my mind. read more

For east coasters Indian Fry Bread is somewhat foreign but I'm here to tell you it's the best thing ever!!! I love it and count the mouthdrooling seconds until I cross into Indian Reservation territory to have Fry Bread (tacos) I had the bison fry bread. They were NOT stingy at all with the meat and toppings! My bison which. Is a premium meat was in large chunks and many of them. I love the customization of this Fry Bread establishment... just think the build your own (like at Subway) only with much fresher products and a 100 times better end product. If you have never tried a fry bread do so and this establishment is a great place to introduce yourself to the wonderful world of deep fried bread topped with delicious tender meat and fresh veggies! The interior was very clean with plenty of room, plenty of parking. The location was a bit off interstate but easy enough to find. I like it sets on/belongs to the casino. If you have time to make an extended pit stop here the casino is attached and all around though if the casino is not your thing it's super easy access. Both myself and a friend drove out to Firelake Fry Bread, only after receiving "really good" reviews from a gentleman the gift shop-at First American Museum. Our expectations were HIGH after receiving this rave review! We drove the 40 miles (80 RT) to experience these "amazing Indian tacos". The dining area was freezing cold. We waited several minutes for someone to come from the back. We started looking through the small window to get their attention. Out comes a girl. Very nonchalant, no engagement or excitement about these "amazing" indian tacos we had heard about. COLD fry bread, beans, meat...salsa's were not homemade, just an assumption I had made that would be fresh. As a matter of fact, she told us she "made the best salsa at home". :) The corn soup? was disgusting with grease inside and outside of the containers. Everything about this place was a let down to say the least. The gas and time we spent to drive out there for an indian taco dinner. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Made me wonder if our referral was a family member. We too noticed there were several in the back, that peered through the windows, but never came out! The other reviews are correct in saying that this is basically subway but on fry bread. But that's where the similarities end. This food is legit. I've been eating here for over a year and it stays consistent. They used to have a loyalty program where you get a free taco after buying a certain amount. I might be the reason they stopped that. Normally I love your meat pies; tonight Sept. 26, 2019, apparently the regular cook was not there and I am guessing the manager stepped in to cover. They were awful!! The meat was grainy and not very tasty. Like I said, these are usually my favorite! But this time, they were not very good. I ate half of it, because I was hungry. I am a fry bread/Indian Taco fan. For the most part I only can find these at Powwow's or other Native American events. It was great to discover a place where cultural foods comes alive in such a unique way. A place where delicious fry bread merges with either beef, chicken, bison meat, or black beans. The assembly line style of this establishment akin to Chipotle where you choose the entree, fillings, toppings, salsas, and everything else but for Fry bread tacos instead of burritos. The tacos are delicious, fry bread was cooked perfectly with a nice crunch. Best of all it's located next to Firelake Casino with the $1 domestic beer special, and offers a break from the gaming action. Well worth the price and experience for Native cuisine. read more

I have never had a frybread taco, and I really appreciated the easy to read menu. I LOVED IT. I usually avoid fried items at a quick-serve restaurant, because ... well, you know..... Very good idea for an establishment. Not the friendliest people, but they do their job and you get your food. It's an Indian Taco restaurant, set up much like Subway, with your choice of beef, buffalo, or chicken. You also get Pinto beans or black beans, then all the vegetable sides. Before this restaurant you only got Indian tacos at the State Fair, Sports team fundraisers or your local garage sale (Eat at your own risk). It's kind of taken the specialness out of the Indian Taco for me, but if you really like them, now you have a restaurant. They also have dessert tacos that you can top with strawberries and whipped cream. Good restaurant and a must try if you like Indian tacos. read more

A novel idea to put taco toppings on fry bread. It was basically a funnel cake or elephant ear (minus the sugar) as a base. And then your choice of chicken, ground beef, or ground bison. A chipotle style setup. I went with the bison. It was lean with not as much flavor as beef normally has. However, I preferred it because there entree itself is heavy. The toppings are very generic. Like vegetables from the can, and Mexican cheese from a bag in the grocery store. Salsa was bland. It's hard to make terrible Mexican food, so I'd probably have it again. Maybe with chicken instead. The bread was the best part. The dessert were very good, but was too full to really enjoy it. Strawberry was definitely more tasty than the cinnamon and honey option. Service was less than mediocre. I LOVE fry bread tacos and haven't found another place in the OKC metro that specializes in them! If you've never had one, it's basically a taco salad atop a deep fried piece of heaven. This place offers bison meat, which I thought was cool. There's nothing fancy about it. It's like a Subway....walk up, go down the line to pick your toppings, and pay at the end. Prices are good, like $6-8 depending on the meat. The 5-star rating is comparing it against other fast food-like places, so don't expect much on the inside. Okay, this is a lot of food for a little money and it is really good stuff. The staff has been super friendly every time I have gone and I like the build your own taco, like the way Qdoba does it. The only draw back for me is that the meat and soup is bland. I've only tried their Fry Bread with the works on top and I must say it was great! They have just about anything you might be craving and since I just live about 2 miles down Hardesty Road it only takes us a couple of minutes to get there. Also,you can eat there or get your food to go. read more

If you have never had one, they include your choice of typical taco ingredients piled thickly on top of Indian fry bread. There is a choice of several meats, including bison, and several different sauces. You can also try traditional fry bread served with a choice of bean soups, and also there is a dessert fry bread. While in Shawnee OK. I noticed the sign for this place. Had to stop to get some fry bread. Ordered the one with fresh fruit (Wojapi) and whipped cream on top. This was some good fry bread and tasted like fry bread is suppose to taste like. If I'm ever in this part of OK again, I will definitely be back. read more
