Fresh fruit from third trip
Nannette M.

For this adventure, it took place on Saturday the 16th, 2024, and involved a trip to Oklahoma City and the surrounding area with my husband and mother in law. On our way back from picking up and dropping off gifts, we decided to stop by Cracker Barrel for lupper. My husband got the hashbrown tots and grilled catfish filet. I got the vegetable plate, and my mother in law got her selection to dine on. I had a cherry spritzer, my husband had a sweet tea, and my mother in law had a rootbeer with her meal. Quinn did a great job on checking in and filling requests of the table. It was one of the most peaceful dining times I have had in a long while. Once I was done eating, and the check arrived, I had the chance to pay the check, pop into the restroom, then do some shopping briefly, where I found a couple of travel mugs and candy sticks(cinnamon & butter rum). After lupper, we headed home to crash for the rest of the night and just relax.

Sweet and Spicy Bee sting chicken

Hello it's Saucy, your friendly food reviewer. Stopped in to celebrate a birthday dinner and decided to order the Sweet and Spicy bee sting chicken tenders. First off our waitress named Holly was super friendly and had a lot of patience with our large group. Ok chicken bees out of 10 I'd say a 5.2. You can tell the tenders are frozen. It had that frozen a while taste to it Fries good, salad good ok. Ranch not good the atmosphere was relaxing.

Just the best feel of getting home cooked food. I go there when I need a good southern "like grandma use to make it" meal

My second time at a Cracker Barrel ever. Wasn't expecting the biscuits and gravy to be this good. Also, everyone is just so nice.

We visit Shawnee once a year usually memorial Day weekend so…read morethat means that some local eateries are closed for the holiday weekend. We tried to come here last year but they were closed. They were open this morning so off we went. This little place is in downtown Shawnee. It's a seat yourself place with bar seating at the open kitchen. We sat at a booth and were immediately greeted. The service was great. Coffee was much better than what our hotel offered. I ordered the "sausage patty" meal which was choice of meat, choice of toast or grits and choice of hash browns or home potatoes with 2 eggs your way. I chose the bacon, home toast, and home potatoes. I was not disappointed. The home toast is made in house and was thick cut, buttered and griddle toasted. Yummy! Hubby got the western omelet with hashbrowns and enjoyed it. Son got the 3 buttermilk pancakes and hashbrowns. It was clean plates all around. We will def be back!

I've eaten there 3 times so far, and have enjoyed every dish I have tried. The " all you can eat"…read morecatfish is the best I have ever had. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay area, having access to the finest fish dishes known around the world. Mr Watson's catfish is the best I have ever had. The accompanying sides remind me of my grandmother's home cooking. I would recommend trying Curtis Watson's restaurant to anyone wanting to experience the best food available. The prices are very affordable and the ambiance is down home enjoyable. The service staff are very nice and friendly to everyone.

Visiting a friend that lives on a ranch north of Shawnee and he wanted to take us to Curtis Watkins…read morerestrauant for lunch. It's located on the Southwest corner of I-40 and McCloud road. I've driven by that location many times over the years and never noticed the restaurant. It does sit toward the back of the property behind and to the north of the Sinclair service station. The restaurant is typical small town; a throwback to another era before the explosion of chain restrauants. We were greeted by Curtis who opened the restrauant 47 years ago. The venue is causal and relaxed. The menu features all you can eat catfish for $14.95 and comes with a garden salad and two sides and a small bowl of pinto beans and hot roll. The menu has a variety of Southern comfort items such as fried chicken livers which one of my friends ordered. I ordered the all you can eat fried shrimp, with fries and fried okra. The hospitality and service are excellent. The food is good, the prices are low-moderate ($$) The noise was low.
