Sadly the Red Lobster in Shawnee Ok has removed from the menu all healthy choices for an entree. There is no grilled fish except bad salmon. Not to mention it took over 30 minutes to get a fried meal. At a time when we are all trying to be healthier- we have lost with Red Lobster. read more

The place is really dim lighting and outdated. Poor service and lackluster atmosphere. The worst Red Lobster restaurant I've ever been too.

I blame myself really, for showing up to this establishment and expecting the experience to have any basis standards of any restaurant. The food was everything it should not have been. Steak over cooked. Pasta mushy. Sauce cold. Crab underwhelming. We did have a large group of people with us & it was after lunch hours, but this staff had a really hard time serving this table. As a fan of Red Lobster each location is different. This was our first time in Shawnee so I was open minded. The First thing I will say is our server Demetrius was FANTASTIC. His customer service is Spot On. We ordered Lobdter Spinach dip and it was Fresh Hot and Yummy. My better half ordered the Mariner's Boil I got the Shrimp Boil and requested the sausage on the side They don't have Corn so alt sides were offered. AgainSvc Wonderful, so my bag the Red Potatoes were So Hard I mentioned to server he apologized and after a bit brought me a order of which Again were hard. I left that alone as I knew there was leftovers and I can cook the spuds. The only other thing was the "Lobster" is more like a Langostino via it's Very Small. I will go again but try something new and specifically hope Demetrius is working. Sometimes chain restaurants get a bad rap. Red Lobster continues to be a family favorite for us though. My husband wanted to go here for Father's Day, and it was a great experience. Our waitress was super kind and attentive. All of our food was exactly as we ordered it, and it was all very good. We splurged a lot for the occasion, so everyone left happy. The cheddar biscuits are always a hit, and they seemed extra good today. It is also my birthday month, so I got a free dessert for having my rewards account. read more

Considering the food quality this evening, I've probably paid my last visit to Red Lobster, Shawnee. The food quality has gone down so much as the prices have sky-rocketed, not that RL was ever inexpensive, but when I drop north of sixty for a meal, I do expect pretty high quality. I had the Admiral's platter. The clams were like the dregs of the holding pan, the flounder was wafer thin, and the fried scallops were tiny. Not even convinced the scallops were scallops - maybe shark fin. The shrimp was good but didn't redeem the whole plate. My wife had Fish and Chips with fries and coleslaw. The fries were greasy and the slaw was inedible. The service was average, at best. Do better! read more

Whoever is the manager at the Shawnee, Oklahoma location for red lobster might want to have a conversation with his or her staff. My wife and I came in last night at around 8 PM. Plenty of time before closing. The restaurant was fairly empty, I was only able to notice about six or seven other Customers dining in at the time. When we arrived, it took a good 10 minutes to be seated, and once we were seated, we assumed we would be seen fairly quickly considering that the restaurant closed at 9 o'clock. After 20 minutes and almost 10 employees walking right by our table without anyone taking notice that we were even there, I told my wife they have about five or 10 more minutes to come and greet us at our table or we are leaving. While we waited, we heard several of the employees complaining about their job, while they stood around and did absolutely nothing. Another 10 minutes passed, no one paid us any attention, and we stood up and walked out. When we did this, again, no one took notice of us or said one word to us at all. Whoever the manager is at this location should have his or her employment looked at pretty hard by red lobster. I understand red lobster has had some difficult times lately, but you would think that in the economy we are living in, employees, especially at a restaurant where tips are life, would be busting their butts anytime a customer graced the door to come and spend their hard earned money at a fairly expensive restaurant. Considering they're probably aren't many people that regularly come to red lobster to eat, we were totally SHOCKED by the level of apathy and incompetence displayed by the ENTIRE STAFF of this establishment. I have literally had better service at the local Burger King, Taco Casa and McDonalds. I would be flabbergasted and wholly embarrassed if they were my restaurant and my staff. read more

I called in and placed a order to go at 8:40pm. Upon the the completion of my order I was informed that the kitchen was closed. I inquired about the kitchens hours, and I was informed that it closes at 8:30 which is 30 minutes prior to the resturant closing. read more

So disappointed in the quality of food and service during a 5 pm dinner slot. Requested an ice water and received half a glass and when refilled, half a glass. The dinner I ordered was slopped all on top of each other like the time and care was too big a commitment. Asked for drawn butter 3 times and the food was cold when butter was finally brought. We can't predict the quality of the meal, because the disrespectful attitude of the host today led us to give up waiting for a table (with the restaurant less than half full). His repeated hostile and disrespectful attitude had us leaving without further ado. To think that the person responsible for making the visit minimally pleasant for the customer is the very reason we left is unbelievable - we were happy to get out of there. We ordered to go on Valentine's Day, the website kept crashing, I finally got it through after 30 minutes. They were 15 minutes late bringing it out. I got home and it was about 3 bites worth (I got the lobster stuffed flounder). And it was cold. My fiancés pasta was a small portion. Save your money, this place sucked! read more

We are from the area and decided to take my mom to the Shawnee Red Lobster for Mother's Day. Guess I should have read the 1- and 2-star reviews 1st because they are spot on! Hostess was rude, the food was rubbery & cold (ordered the $45 double lobster tail for mom). The amount of food you use to get for a lessor price is now even less food. I walked in, approached the hostess area, there were 3 or4 women standing there - none looked up and when then headmaster did look up, she glanced back down at the test they were all trying to take I guess, then she looked at me and said can I help you? Yes, what is the wait time for a party of 4? oh it will be 7 pm before we can seat you. This was 5:45 pm when we arrived and like others have said, the place was 1/2 empty as far as I could see and only two guests in the waiting area but when you drive around the building on your way in you see several employees out back smoking and have a soft drink. We checked back at 6:30 - still it will be 7 pm they told us. Starting to think there's no cook available because there is plenty of seating and nobody waiting. Our server, Jeramiah, seemed a little shy but he got the job done and was tipped over the suggested 22% on the ticket. My dad asked if they served hamburger steak to which Jeramiah replied, " I'm not sure what that is but we have hamburgers and we have steak." Fair enough :) Some thirty something guy brings out the tray of food and I guess he's the cook that showed up on his day off because he sure seemed mad about something. No manager ever stopped by to see if we were enjoying our meal or had any requests - I'm guessing she or he took the day off as well as the cook. The place was clean enough and it was the ambiance of a normal Red Lobster. Instead of cutting lose OKC, Stillwater, or Lawton - maybe this one should be on the list as it hasn't made any improvements based on other older reviews. Food was good. Jay, our server was great. My only complaint is that the plate my Cole Slay served in had a huge chip missing and made the dish very unattractive. Stay far away from this place. Food was literally ice cold, rubbery and the portion sizes are ridiculously small. I was supposed to have a half pound of snow crab legs. Literally only received 3 tiny legs, if there would of been a scale to weight it before removing from the shell it wouldn't have added to 3 ounces.They were ice cold and water dripping out from the legs was as if they was taken from an ice bath and put on the plate. No joke. The lobster was the smallest I have ever seen or gotten at any Red Lobster. I took a small taste of the lobster because it didn't seem to be right. Mushy, and chlorine tasting, it was disgusting. The person with me ordered scallops. They literally was the size of a quarter. Never ever had she or I been to a restaurant, ordered scallops and they been so tiny. When we spoke with the manager SUSIE about all of this, she said that this has always been Red Lobster standards, when told her I have been all over the United States and been to Red Lobster, this one is a joke. It does not compare to the others in presentation, taste or amount. She was unconcerning and basically shrugged it off. Susie, said the general manager sets the standards for the restaurant and the amount served. Took $20.00 off the bill, and considered that good even though couldn't eat the lobster. I'm giving 2 stars because the server was great but the menu changes have left us without many of our favorite dishes. The portions have gotten so small, scallops the size of marbles, baked potatoes that are similar in size to a lemon. The seafood has always been overpriced but now that they've removed our favorites like dragon broccoli, the Sailor's Platter, and several other items, we probably won't be back. If you plan on going and it's been a while it might be worth checking their updated menu because they have condensed it A LOT. read more

The waiter was great, but the food was awful. I had the Ultimate Catch, which is a little bit of everything. The lobster was bland and rubbery. The fried shrimp tasted like it was cooked in old grease, to the point where I couldn't eat the rest. The crab was rubbery and cold. The scampi tasted bland. The rice had no flavor, and I'm honestly surprised the baked potato wasn't messed up somehow. The best thing was the cheddar biscuits. They were actually good, which is sad because it got my hopes up. Hopefully our experience was just a fluke. read more

NOT a fan of the new menu! Apparently a garden salad is no longer even an option? We loved those salads! We would have settled for Caesar Salad, but they were out of lettuce, lol. The biscuits were still good, but the "jumbo" scallops were quite disappointing. You pay almost $8 to add these to a meal and you only get 4 on a skewer?! 2 of them could possibly have been considered "medium," but the other 2 were definitely "small" & "extra small." One was seriously the size of a marble at best. So NOT worth the add-on! The 2 Kung Pao dishes looked interesting and possibly the Nashville Shrimp, but miss the Dragon Broccoli and Firecracker Shrimp, plus many other dishes from the old menu. Our service was good, although it took a long time to receive our meals, even though there were very customers (each server maybe had one table?). Red Lobster was the one chain that we usually enjoyed, but think we will just stick with "local" establishments. read more

The Shawnee Red Lobster always has a line out the door of people waiting for a table. So you would think that the place is always full, right? We went on a Sunday evening recently, and had to wait 25 minutes for a table for four. Once we were finally shown to our table, I was surprised to find see that particular side of the restaurant had 3 other tables occupied (out of maybe 12 total). Clearly they were short staffed and had good reason to keep people waiting, but it's always a little annoying to realize you could have been seated much quicker had they scheduled enough help that evening. The food was decent, on par with other Red Lobster locations, but nothing spectacular. Though overworked, our server was attentive as she could possibly be and did her best to keep our tea glasses filled and basket of cheesy biscuits stocked. Shawnee has such a limited selection of decent restaurants that you might feel thankful to even have a Red Lobster to choose from, but they could still do better. read more

Not really sure if my fillet was in fact a fillet. I do know that you can not order a steak as med rare. If you do it comes out blue. The ideology that it is good service to serve mashed potatoes with steak is not a sound practice. The mashed potatoes are not even mashed they are squashed through a ricer. Not Good. They have also came up with a recipe that calls for Old Bay Seasoning on a lobster tail. I would prefer to experience the taste of the lobster. Perhaps these are the reasons I only go to Red Lobster once maybe twice a year. The first table they attempted to sit us had a dead fly. I made the mistake of looking out the window. Upon the window sill were at least a dozen more dead flies. Next time I will try Pelicans in Midwest City. read more
