Never heard of a pastrami quesadilla but this one was MASSIVE, nicely grilled and was filled with some nutty lettuce that kinda got soggy but that's ok cuz I lowkey like soggy lettuce, tender savory pastrami, and some gooey cheese. The burger was hefty and was stacked with perfectly ripe avocado, actually still crisp bacon, savory cheese, a nice charbroiled meaty patty, juicy tomato, fresh crunchy lettuce and sliced onions, with some slightly sweet tangy thousand island and pickles all on a sesame seed bun. This place used to be really good, but unfortunately, it has gone downhill. The last couple of times I've ordered, the food has been extremely disappointing. My most recent order was completely burned--the burrito, gyro, and even the sides. Everything tasted overcooked and was basically inedible. It's frustrating because I used to really enjoy the food here, but the quality and consistency just aren't what they used to be. What a great place to have a HUGE, DELICIOUS, and well-prepared meal. My family and I had business in the area, and we were craving breakfast. We are so glad we decided to visit this restaurant for the first time. The restaurant itself is located in a very busy industrial area. It is a large and clean restaurant with many tables and booths. The menu, which is clearly posted behind the counter, is extensive and offers many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are also signs posted throughout the restaurant featuring specials and specialty items. The entire staff, including the owner, who happened to be working the register during our visit, was extremely friendly, welcoming, hardworking, and appeared to appreciate each customer who visited the restaurant. My family and I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito, eggs, turkey bacon, and hash browns combo, and I had a veggie omelet with hash browns. The portion sizes were HUGE, and the food was DELICIOUS!!!! Everything was truly cooked to perfection. It really was good. At one point, I leaned over the counter to thank the chef for preparing such a delicious breakfast. He appeared surprised yet thankful for the compliment. I also wish to thank the owner for providing top-notch service, as he personally delivered our order to our table, including utensils, and checked on us a couple of times, as did a very nice and friendly female employee who was seen working nonstop. They do charge for other small thing, including credit card fees of 3.75%, and ranch. It just seems the owner is trying to nickle and dime every customer. Not a good feeling. $4 for fountain drinks, a bit expensive. I had friends who shared their onion rings and fries with me. I was not impressed at all. The onion rings was overly fried, and the fries were mehhhh.... The colossal burger was not too bad itself. The vege inside were fresh. I usually stop by once a month for a nostalgic taste of old school burgers, made like how I remember growing up. My usual is the bacon cheeseburger but I'll have to expand out on my next visit. I like that they include onion rings with their fries so I don't have to separately order it. It's a pretty hefty burger and a good amount of fries so I think it's worth the price (more than what you'd get at any other chain fast food place). We've been coming to Hamburger Express for the past 10 years. It used to be really great before the new owners took over. The quality is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is really good, other times the fries lack flavor or are very mushy and the buns are dry. They also charge for ranch, which now comes in smaller containers than they used to. Sometimes they don't put the ranch in your bag, so make sure to check for it before leaving. For a while they had a sign saying you get a discount for paying cash, but in reality, the cash prices were on the menu and you just paid more for using a card. You didn't actually get a discount off the prices on the menu. Talk about deceptive. They must've got complaints because it now says the menu prices are for cash only. Also, be sure to check your receipts. I ordered a cheeseburger combo and hot wings (no combo). It was about $35 and I thought it was a bit pricey. Turns out they charged me for a second combo. This is hometown spot for me. Grew up eating here. I do remember there was a time when it wasn't great and had a horrible rating. But I finally came back tried this spot and hoped it was as amazing before when I was super young. And I'm so happy to see the rating back up and that the quality of the food is back. They're not lying, it really is express! Ordered through the drive through around 1 PM on a weekday and the time between ordering and pulling up and paying, my food came out ASAP. Interaction took no longer than 3 minutes. Now that is EXPRESS. I got the: 1) 1/4 lb Cheeseburger lunch combo: -This comes with the burger, a side of fries, and a drink. -Their fountain machine must have been slightly amiss since it tasted more like syrup than soda. -The burger itself does hit the spot if you're craving a good burger. The meat was slightly charred and smoky and it comes with a pseudo In-N-Out thousand island style sauce (think like Carl's Jr. California classic burger). -There's pickles, lettuce, and onion as well. -Even though the burger has a wrapper, you better add extra layers of napkins around it or eat it on top of the container. It was leaking out a massive amount of oil and juices, so much so that the buns became soggy in no time unfortunately. 2) Onion Rings: -You can substitute the fries for onion rings or zucchini fries instead for free. -They gave a good amount of onion rings that were alright. -A bit too much batter and not enough onion, but it wasn't bad.
