I absolutely LOVE this place! I eat here weekly. I find everyone who works here pleasant and really helpful. The food is consistent and always delicious. I made a suggestion for their online ordering platform and the owner was incredibly kind and figured out how to make it happen. As someone who needs lots of food modifications (gluten free, no cheese, etc) they are extremely accommodating. Morning i got the avocado toast and turkey back overall was ok and decent experience. I got a lavender spice latte which was good. For lunch I got the chicken burger. I didn't like it. The inside was pink, and it didn't taste good, so I just ended up throwing most of it away. I got a lemonade chiller with it which was ok. As I was cleaning up to leave I approached the counter to ask where to put my dirty dishes as I seen a sign that said don't put dirty dishes here (on counter) before I can get my full question put the guy upfront in the white shirt (pictures) just rudely pointed in a direction opposite of the cafe. He didn't say a word ans barely turned. So I had to go look for where in which it was not clearly labeled either (pictured) to place my items. The location isn't the issue it was his rude non character response of rudely just pointing mid sentence and not saying a word. Review is a combo of my experience for this visit. Not to take away from anything of my previous review and experience. Today I decided to work from here. I came here for a quick brunch on a Sunday at noon and there was plenty of seating. My order came out quickly and was delicious! The Halo Toast had the perfect balance of avocado, tomato, and balsamic vinegar. I also got 3 pierogies, which came out hot with a side of sour cream and tasted great. The mac and cheese was nothing special but will be sure to satisfy your cravings. There's actually a fairly large menu of items and prices are very reasonable! Amazing coffee and food! The staff make me feel welcome and remember my name. It makes a difference

Lets start by saying. I went to this place when it first opened, and it seemed pleasant enough for a second visit. So today , My sister, spouse and I stopped in for a bite. The both ordered the same dish, mine was different. We placed the order which asks for a tip UPFRONT before anything actually happens. So and minute later, the one girl behind the counter alerted me that my item was out of stock, was there something else I prefferred. SoI ordered the same dish as my guests. Our table was a bit of a mess and she offered to clean it. She proceeded to go back behind the counter and fisnish her lunch, and wait on other customers. A few minues later we waived her down to request to clean the messy table. She confessed , im sorry , i just forgot. No harm done.. About 15 minutes later two of our plates were deilvered to our table . I assumed mine was right after. Wrong... 15 minutes later my spouse asked, where it is the other plate. The girl behind the counter said about 2 more minutes. ( Wait .. what???, tht woukd bw a total of 17 minutes) So i waited a little longer and went back to the counter and asked why was my food delayed. The girl said, it was due to mine was put in as a new order. ( which translates: everyone betweeen your original order will be served before you, even thought you actually were part of another order) . I said why wasnt it put with the original? The was basically her explanation, and they are busy with only one cook. No apology, no nothing. When I asked to speak to a manager, she told me she was, And I asked who was above her, she mentioned the owner was her mother. She did say she was sorry I did not like her answer. (No, nore did i appreciate her lack of proffesional demeanor or attitude.) So I sat back down. Our food came out soon after, like 20 minutes after my gyests received theirs. I no longer was hungry. I was annoyed. So whats the big deal you ask? Ill tell you. We have gotten so complacent with common courtesy and general empathy. If you are in busienss, you treat your customers with kindness and understanding. This seems to be lost on these kids who truly dont give a crap.Im just another Karen, ok, but then she is just another entitled young adult who shouldnt be left in charge. So the tip she got beforehand was not deserved. But here is another, think again before you spend. I lived in this town 30 years. Ive seen these types pf businesse come and go. I will not be going back. If this is the type of service they provide, it wont be long till the next fly by night arrives. Halo you need to take some pointers from Dunkin Donuts. Such great variety of specialty coffees/ flavors that makes you just want to come back and try every single one. The food also looked quite good. Wanted to try a new coffee and breakfast place and this came up in Yelp. The service was extremely slow. I ordered coffee, donut and breakfast sandwich. I got the donut but no coffee. I had to wait 10-15 min for my coffee to come out with my sandwich. I wanted it on a roll but it was not an option. The Taylor ham was 4 slices and charred well but on the bread it didn't cover the egg or the cheese. There was too much pepper too. I will not order this again. The coffee was good but they put the cream in it and it could've had more. The ambiance was quaint. There were several tables, a counter by the windows and outside tables. It was noisy. I went here around 10:45am and it was more busy than I would expect st that time. I will probably not go back since there are other options within 10 minutes of this place that make better breakfast sandwiches. Do I recommend l? I can't say yes or no. Try on your own read more

This is one of our favorite spots. The food great, the coffee drinks are delicious, and the staff is friendly. I stopped in for lunch for the first time. I had the winter salad. I had a Mountajn Ave. sandwich, I really liked it but my boyfriend didn't so I guess it depends if you like onion/onion jam? He got the 228 Sandwich, it was good but not a lot of texture so I preferred the Mountajn Ave. Avocado toast was as you'd expect. Their tater tots were very good! I have been here two times when visiting this area. The first time was a bad experience, but that can happen and might be an anomaly. I went back today (a few months later), and I'm afraid it's not the exception. No line and went straight to the cashier and placed order. I was with 2 kids. Ordered gluten free toast and sausage for both children, but no butter on one because she has both a gluten and a dairy allergy. I also ordered a bottled drink (kambucha). I was rung up and tipped on the machine. I pushed the button for a receipt but didn't get one. No big deal. Then I found out they were out of the drink. It took 5 minutes and 2 employees to figure out how to do a refund. We sat down and waited. And waited. Another 5 minutes and the toast came out. I asked about the sausage and was told it was coming. After 5 minutes and after the kids were nearly done with the toast, I went to the counter to inquire about the sausage. They brought one order. I said there should be 2 orders. They searched around and then said the order only showed one. At this point I asked for the receipt. Receipt confirmed they didn't put in 2 orders of sausage, so at least I wasn't overcharged. But I also found that they put in just one gluten free toast, and buttered it. The other toast was not gluten free, and it was not buttered. I relayed this story to family and they suggested I call the owner to make them aware, especially because of the allergy issue. However, there's no phone number on the receipt. read more

What an amazing local sport. The coffee was very good, but the starving the show was definitely the breakfast tacos. So much flavor and honestly you put anything on a taco and I'm here for it! The staff is polite and super welcoming. It's an enjoyable spot and a very cute local family business. They make great tater tots and croissants and focus on healthy eating and recycling (no yucky chemicals haha) They're very helpful and community oriented they have an option for any customer down on their luck to take a posted note provided by other customers for a free coffee and/or meal while also offering free water on hot days to incoming students. I believe I've even noticed a bulletin off to the side with job offerings which is very helpful to high school students that come there frequently (such as myself). The inside is what you would call rustic, chairs of all different types and sizes along the walls and width in the middle and back, perfect for anyone needing to get work done on their computer with the abundance of outlets for plugs and USBs but also for a group of friends to grab an affordable bite to eat. And for one inside gets too crowded or you want to enjoy a taste of scenery with your meal there are also tables and chairs outside with nice shade near the building. Admittedly the wait time can be pretty long depending on what you ordered or how busy the place is (super busy on the typical weekday around 3 o'clock after the middle school and high school students are out) is but the wait as well rewarded with a delicious array of salads, omelettes, paninis and of course delicious coffee which includes many creative seasonal drinks. What an AMAZING find! I found this spot ny searching Yelp for a lunch spot that was different from the typical highway fast food and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the turkey /brie sandwich with a mixed green side salad and small cold brew coffee. (Not to be consumed together ). The food was so good and so fresh. Been meaning to try Halo Roasters and I'm so glad that I did. The coffee is Hidden Grounds which I enjoy and was delivered hot and black to my table. I had the Halo Breakfast Wrap which consists of 2 eggs American cheese , honey ham, hash brown, sriracha aioli, and a flour tortilla. Simply delicious and original I could eat this quite often. Have been here a couple of times for coffee and I must say it is 10/10 and the baristas really take their time to make sure you get exactly what you ordered when you order hot drinks. The bacon egg and cheese on multigrain toast was great. Would definitely recommend. Having such a positive experience with their coffee and breakfast, I decided to order take out for lunch one day. I ordered a southwest bowl with chicken. Didn't change or remove anything. I was very disappointed. Chicken was bland, corn tasted like it was drained from a can and went straight into the bowl, same with the roasted peppers. $13 gown to waste because I couldn't even finish it. I also ordered a MEDIUM mango hibiscus iced tea. Cup sizes are pretty standard across the board IMO at coffee shops and restaurants. I swear the medium here is actually a SMALL. (Wish I would've taken a picture. If I'm gonna pay Starbucks prices at a small business, that's totally fine but I'm not paying a medium price for a small cup. I'm sorry. The tea was ok, pretty watered down not a strong hibiscus taste and I didn't get any mango notes. For all my orders I've called to place a phone order and food has been ready when I arrived. Halo Roasters has arrived !! We've been waiting anxiously for halo to open and as a local, we've needed a cute coffee shop! Halo doesn't disappoint. This was their first official day open and although they're working out the kinks, the menus (tea, coffee, breakfast and sandwiches) are awesome, the space is warm, inviting and spacious and the staff is really nice. The menu populates electronically on a screen, so takes a little bit for a newbie to review all menu items. I got a chai latte and a Turkey avocado BLT and it was delicious! I was looking for cute local coffee places in my area, and found this place. I feel like they had good food options for a reasonable price. I feel like the coffee was okay, felt like it had too much milk to coffee ratio. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. my friend and I were really excited to try this place, as we're on vacation. we checked the menu beforehand, as she has celiac and has a severe gluten allergy, to make sure there were gluten free options. we walked in, the place was super cute. she ordered a sandwich and confirmed with the cashier of the hashbrown was safe for a person with a gluten allergy. she said no so she asked for it to be removed due to the allergy. cashier confirmed she'd make a note about the allergy. when they bring out the sandwich, my friend took a couple of bites and realized the hashbrown was still in there. she let the employees know and they took it back and asked her if she wanted anything else or a refund. she requested a refund, because 1. she already ingested gluten meaning she's going to be extremely sick as soon as her body digests it & 2. why would she trust any other food order? the employee acted as if her allergy was an inconvenience. when he came back, he gave her ten dollars cash saying "the sandwich was 9.95, so here's 10" again acting like he was doing HER a favor, and not like the hashbrown was literal poison to her body. ZERO apology. It's interesting to me that a peanut allergy is taken with so much gravity, but a gluten allergy is taken as an inconvenience. Anyway, moral of the story, don't eat here if you have Celiac or a gluten allergy. They might poison you and make you feel bad about it. read more

Furthermore, I visit a lot of cafes in both NJ and NY, and can confidently vouch that Halo Roasters coffee is super fresh and always flavorful, hitting the perfect balance between sweet and roasty. Called an hour after that I was told it was cancelled (but not by me).. person who answered was admit that I cancelled when she told me prior that it was picked up already.., with notifications or anything. I asked her if she spoke to her employee about the two times I called. She went on, "since we don't have control over third party orders," after I gave her the opportunity to explain how orders are placed through third parties, she continues..."Customers often receive the order and a complete refund when it is canceled." As if I was the one lying, why would I waste time reviewing a restaurant while I was there enjoying their food on their fare? I politely replied thank you for calling and hung up, having no intention of going back and forth with her. When a customer was attempting to find out what happened to her food, the way that you spoke to me was not appropriate for the owner of the company.
