I contacted Hallmark Tree Solutions to cut off the dead limbs from my Crepe Myrtles that had been damaged in the February 2021 freeze. The tops of all the bushes were dead, but there was new growth at the bottom. I also wanted some unwanted tree stumps killed and removed. I got an estimate and immediately selected them to do the work. (I probably should have gotten a couple of other estimates because I do not know if the price was good or not.) I waited about a month for someone to set up an appointment. I knew they must be busy after the horrible freeze so I was not worried. Then I got a bill on July 13 (I think) and it demanded payment by July 13. I sent a hot email saying that the work had not been done, I had not even been contacted for an appointment, I refused to pay until the work had been done, etc. They contacted me quickly and said there was a glitch in the system and I had gotten overlooked. Then they set an appointment. Some workers came to take care of the Crepe Myrtles. All they had were chainsaws and a wood chipper. They could not speak enough English to explain. I tried and tried to contact the company with no results. Finally they contacted me and said that someone else with different equipment would come take care of the tree stumps. (They had not explained that previously.) So dealing with the management of this company was a nightmare. They didn't give me an appointment. They did not explain that it would take two days. The workers were supposed to be there at 8:00 AM since I had such a bad experience getting things set up. I was going to be the first job of the day. The workers got there at 1:40 PM. They did a good job on the trees. They chipped up the limbs. They left the yard and alley clean. Good job. Then the following day someone knocked on my door. I usually do not answer the door if I am not expecting anyone because it normally is a salesperson, real estate agent trying to flip houses, etc. I did answer this day. It was the people coming to take care of the tree stumps. (Father and son team. The father did the work and the son assisted him.) They showed up unannounced. So he got to work. The gate was too narrow for the stump grinder to fit in the back yard! So the man manually chopped up both tree stumps with a pickaxe. It was a hot day and the job was difficult. But again they left the yard in good shape, removed all of the debris. So to make a long story short (too late), dealing with the management is a nightmare. No scheduling, no explanation of the procedure, etc. However, the worker did a great job (except for being late and coming unannounced). They took care of the problems and left the yard clean and in good shape. read more

They did some good work- took down a large pine that has died in the freeze for reasonable rate. But they took down bamboo in places I asked them to leave it and left it in places we had agreed be taken down. They never did a final walk through. Just kept telling me to keep inside even when they weren't doing removal work- then just left without a word. Hired to remove a tree, which they satisfactorily accomplished. However, in doing so, they destroyed our sidewalk. When we tried to contact them, as they claim to be bonded on their website, they passed us off, asked us to leave messages, which we did of course, and then ghosted us. We were repeat customers, but never again would we do business with this tree service, and recommend anyone else to proceed with caution It considering doing business with them. read more

Got a bid to remove 3/4 of a tree in our backyard. The price was not cheap, but I went with them anyway and they did a good job. Then, about 3 days later I decided I wanted to remove the rest of the tree which was just the tree trunk alone at about 16 feet tall. I called a guy named Michael who originally gave me the bid and I assumed he would remember the job, but for some reason did not, and said he would come out to give me a bid to remove the remainder of the tree. That was a week ago and he's never called or come out. Maybe he decided it just wasn't worth his time, but there's really no excuse for being so unprofessional. I hired them to trim my trees. Waited a week for my appointment, I was scheduled to be their second job of the day they would be here at noon. Has the day goes on no tree trimmers! I called them 4 times throughout the day always being assured they were coming. It's now 5:00 they show up and said the were so tired could they come first thing in the morning, it is now well past morning! They are in Collyville!!!! I'm next they say!!!! Are you kidding me I've been sitting around waiting for 1 1/2 days, they should be paying me for the time I'm out!!!! Now I'm getting pitiful excuses about rainouts. I used Hallmark Tree Solutions to cut down a 21 yr old Ash tree after calling several other tree service companies. Their rate was $400 less than the lowest bid I was given. They did what they said they would and the bid didn't change after they completed the work. I will definitely use them to prune my other mature tree! read more

I've used Hallmark Tree Solutions twice so far and have been VERY pleased with their service and their prices. Last week I called them again to schedule some tree trimming. Steve the Owner came out the same day and gave me a quote I was very happy with so we scheduled a date that worked best for me. He is very professional and courteous and some one you feel comfortable doing business with. As scheduled Hallmark showed up today right on time, went straight to work and when they were done the tree cutters ensured I was happy with the work before they left. These guys are GREAT!! We first started using this company for their tree grinding services several years ago and we were so pleased with their professionalism that we call them for all of out "tree needs". Last year we had Hallmark out to trim a tree in our back yard and take a look at one of the trees in our front yard. The owner, Steve Caviness, personally came out and diagnosed that our tree had a fungus which was causing the tree to be unhealthy. Steve treated the tree and it is thriving to this day. I know it might be silly to some that we were so concerned with the health of one tree, but it is the reason we fell in love with the house. I know if we hadn't called Hallmark Tree Services the entire look of our home would have been altered.
