The lady behind the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the free samples of brittle were a great touch (and honestly what got me hooked right away). I ended up purchasing the cashew brittle, and wow--it was da bomb. Super unique texture: soft yet crunchy, and not crazy sticky to your teeth like most brittle. I also grabbed the classic peanut butter brittle, and it was just as impressive--rich, authentic peanut butter flavor without that overly chewy, annoying stickiness. Again, perfectly balanced between soft and crunchy. To top it off, I tried the little squares of brittle covered in chocolate... and they were unreal. Honestly better than a Butterfinger--like 100k times better. So goooooood! If you're anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it.

We found Jean and John Linstrum with their booth of sweet caramels at this Faire, and I sampled the huckleberry variety, having not grown up in a state where huckleberries are a regular treat. It was delicious! We ended up buying several half pound bags in a variety of flavors and they were all outstanding. When we returned home, our house-sitter, our pet-sitter, my co-workers, and my parents all received some candy! It was such a nice treat that I emailed Moon Creek and asked about pricing to give out little variety bags. I figured I would give them as a way to draw in business for my side job as a mobile notary, and to thank my customers as well! A box of 50 variety bags arrived very soon after (the pricing worked out to $3 per bag, with 6 flavors in each bag): Butter rum caramel, espresso caramel, cherry caramel, pecan caramel, butter caramel and salt caramel. I wanted to get some of her favorites to mail to her for her upcoming birthday and found the nearest See's to me is a little over an hour away. The occasion was worth the drive and surprised to see it was it's own store and not just a kiosk in the mall! It brought me back to my childhood living in California and my mom taking us to See's as a treat. When we walked in, we were greeted and after a while we were offered samples, which we happily obliged. This store was pretty big, clean, and filled with a variety of chocolates and candies. They also offer 2 big stands of greeting cards for all kinds of occasions. I loved seeing the expansive variety of chocolates and candies that was offered behind the glass window. I went with a half pound of my mom's favorites: California Crunch, Dark Walnut Squares, and Scotch Kisses. I also got her a toffee-ettes tin, a mini scotchmallow box, and a wrapped pecan roll. For what it's worth, they offer a handful of sugar free chocolate and candies. The wonderful nice woman who helped me, definitely held true to the See's Candies look and name and represented what See's Candies is all about. She even gave me a frequent buyer card and a coupon for 15% off a future visit. I'll definitely be coming back here!
