The lady behind the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the free samples of brittle were a great touch (and honestly what got me hooked right away). I ended up purchasing the cashew brittle, and wow--it was da bomb. Super unique texture: soft yet crunchy, and not crazy sticky to your teeth like most brittle. I also grabbed the classic peanut butter brittle, and it was just as impressive--rich, authentic peanut butter flavor without that overly chewy, annoying stickiness. Again, perfectly balanced between soft and crunchy. To top it off, I tried the little squares of brittle covered in chocolate... and they were unreal. Honestly better than a Butterfinger--like 100k times better. So goooooood! If you're anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it.

They had just closed but don't like to turn a customer away. I told her we would be quick, and we were. The aroma inside is warm and inviting. They make their candies in house. They have lots of goodies to choose from - over 2 dozen varieties of salt water taffy, several caramels, variety gift boxes, and of course: the Bruttle. It's a soft peanut brittle that melts in your mouth. We were lucky she let us in because their other store was extremely busy and most of the shelves were empty. After more than a decade in the area, this week I finally decided to try some brittle. Only one word to describe it: Addictive. I loved it. The soft brittle isn't like a taffy or something. It's hard to describe other than "not hard." It's still crunchy but it melts in your mouth. Wonderful. I snarfed the peanut brittle quickly. We found Jean and John Linstrum with their booth of sweet caramels at this Faire, and I sampled the huckleberry variety, having not grown up in a state where huckleberries are a regular treat. It was delicious! We ended up buying several half pound bags in a variety of flavors and they were all outstanding. When we returned home, our house-sitter, our pet-sitter, my co-workers, and my parents all received some candy! It was such a nice treat that I emailed Moon Creek and asked about pricing to give out little variety bags. I figured I would give them as a way to draw in business for my side job as a mobile notary, and to thank my customers as well! A box of 50 variety bags arrived very soon after (the pricing worked out to $3 per bag, with 6 flavors in each bag): Butter rum caramel, espresso caramel, cherry caramel, pecan caramel, butter caramel and salt caramel. Simply don't have courage and willpower to take so much sugar.
