One of our favorite u-pick spots in Green Bluff! Dog-friendly and some of the best varieties around! We come in the summer for peaches and plums and in the fall for apples and pumpkins. It seems like they add a little something every year too - from barn animals to swings and jungle gyms. Free parking too unlike some of the farms nearby. We've never had any issues with hospitality or service. Very peaceful spot too - not overly crowded even on the busy weekends. read more

My 4 kids and I drove from Missoula to u-pick. We picked lots of stuff, but among them were peaches that weren't ripe. Brought everything up to pay for it. We were berated by rude owner that "people like us RAPE his orchards" by picking things that aren't ripe. In front of my little kids. I apologized and assured him that I was paying for everything. Ruined my entire experience. Will NEVER go there again. Owner, if you read this: please treat people with kindness. It's not hard. My kids made a mistake and I paid for it (literally). I visited Hidden Arch Farm with a friend and our children. While we were talking, the kids were near the animals and, without us realizing, pulled some leaves off a tree that was behind them to feed the animals. As soon as the owner came over and pointed it out, I immediately apologized and told the kids to stop. That should have been the end of it, but instead, he continued lecturing us in a rude manner, insisting we "don't get how much it takes for him to grow it," and then went so far as to threaten to call the police and demanded that we leave. As a parent, I understand that kids sometimes make mistakes, and as a business owner myself, I also understand the importance of protecting your property. But I also know that professionalism means handling situations with respect, not hostility. A reasonable owner would have accepted the apology, given a polite warning, or taken steps to protect the trees if they were truly so vulnerable. The way he escalated a small situation into threats shows a clear lack of self-control -- and based on other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue. This is a public orchard that markets itself to families -- and families come with children. Any business that invites families must know how to handle those moments with respect. Threatening customers and treating them with hostility is not only unnecessary, it's deeply unprofessional. Looking at other reviews, it's clear this pattern of behavior is not a one-time issue. If you are so concerned about your trees, perhaps this is not the right line of business. An orchard open to the public -- especially one with a playground -- will naturally have children, and that requires patience and basic courtesy. Sadly, what could have been a pleasant family outing turned into an uncomfortable and unnecessarily hostile experience. When you compare this experience with other reviews describing the same pattern of out-of-control behavior, it's clear this place does not feel safe. My kids and I drove from Missoula with family just to go to a u-pick. When my daughter was at Sacred Heart in Spokane for her cancer treatment 9 years ago this was one of our favorite spots to go. Today, I was embarrassed I brought my family there. We spent about 2 hours picking and had a great time. When checking out, the owner was cold and rude. When my sister checked out next he said her kids "raped the trees"! My kids had questions without great answers. So upsetting. Don't buy from these strangers, I never will again. read more

My husband and I drove to Spokane from our house in Lakeside AZ. We took our time getting up here and are taking our time going back. We boondock most of the time and figured we would just find a spot when we got here. Hah. There are NO NATIONAL FOREST areas anywhere near Spokane. So we started frantically looking for a spot. The orchard itself is beautiful, with rolling hills and plenty of trees for the perfect atmosphere. The fruit selection was great, with everything from apples to peaches to berries. The fact that this is a low/no spray farm made it even more enjoyable because I could feel confident knowing that whatever we brought home was healthy for our family. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, suggesting recipes and favorite combinations of fruits to make. They had samples available too so you could try before you buy - always a bonus. We purchased several different types of apples for pies, crisps, and snacks as well as some delicious jams and syrups. Overall it was a really pleasant experience and I'd highly recommend Hidden Acre Orchards to anyone looking for high-quality local produce without any of the harsh chemicals used in traditional farming practices. I'm a sucker for local farms. Always have been and always will be. Free parking can be found in the dirt parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. There is a Donut Shop onsite that offers fresh mini donuts, popcorn, cotton candy and caramel apples. A sweet touch to any farm. Hidden Farms offers U-Pick apples, plums, pears and pumpkins. My sister and I were here for the apples. A variety of apples were available: Gala, Mac's, Fuji and Laura Reds.. We were both encouraged by the staff to sample the apples while picking to ensure that we went home happy with our choices. To encourage recycling, Hidden Farms offers $0.10 cents off per pound if one brings their own box/bag from home to load their picked produce in. Hidden Farms offers a small store stocking local wares such as: hand-made items, fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, jams/jellies, salsa's, pickles, etc... Farms are important. Easily accessible from Spokane by car, Hidden Acres made for a memorable afternoon trip to go apple and pear picking. The process was simple (grab a box and go!). There were people there picking under 5 and others loading up box after box. There are two shops on the premise - one with food and ice cream, the other a general store with local items. Worth a visit and maybe an overnight stay. They offer camping to Harvest Host members and have some tent platforms. A really nice spot near Spokane. Found this sweet farm through Harvest Hosts and it's a great find. great place to camp among the cherry trees and when the temperature cooled a bit we picked Rainier and Bing cherries that were the sweetest we've ever had. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Their gift shop is stocked with all kinds of goodies from salsas, jams, cheese and pickled green beans to straw baskets, lotions, cute little wooden signs and coffee mugs.(much more than i mentioned) And you can walk around and visit with the sheep, ducks,chickens, little piggies and bunny rabbits. it's well worth the drive coming from the Seattle area. call ahead about camping and what's being harvested-don't miss this jewel in the Spokane Valley. read more

Moved from WA 2-yrs ago and went to one of my most favorite farms in Green Bluff today.. I love their down-to-earth farm/shop/staff/owners. I was pleasantly surprised to find they still make and had available 'Pickled eggs.' I got 2 for my breakfast and loved every bite. I also enjoyed freshly made Ickes this morning, bright yellow squash and of course fresh farm eggs. The young couple of this family owned haven are hard-working and mellow. I bring my dog and he's allowed to gently roam about without anyone saying a peep. (of course he's well behaved and properly supervised) Hands Down this is in my top 3 farms of the 59 on the map tour! Huckleberry homemade pies are UNDER $20!! Not a whole lot to see here, or at least, not a whole lot that I saw. They have a small shop with some various fancy snack type items, some pies, ice cream etc. They do not sell pie by the slice, which is too bad since, they are selling what look to be good whole pies, and in great flavors. We did get some of the best - if not the best - peaches I've ever had from here, and at only $1/pound for you pick, with the trees very close, and laden with fruit. Two of my lovely Aunts, traveling with me, made the effort to fly them back home to the Midwest, so they couldn't have been bad. Finally, they had sort of a ragged old dog trotting around with a quite ignoble handwritten sign, stating "I'm cranky and old, please don't pet me." They explained he'd been treated unkindly by folks in the past, and now tended to nip at people attempting to pet him - which was true, he did try halfheartedly to nip at my Uncle (who has never met a dog he didn't like)...but maybe we could just lock him up rather than making him wear a sign? I guess he deserves to run free in the fields, but it was still kind of amusing. read more

Been picking pumpkins and apples at Hidden Acres for years, probably 30 years if not more. Took our kids there years ago, and now we've been taking our grandkids there. Was up there picking 2 weeks ago, then again last week, and then we went up there again today and we were literally screamed at (in front on everyone)!!!!! Some guy (I'm assuming he was the owner), loudly screamed "hey dude!!!! You can't pick there!! Can't you ready my HUGE sign hanging in the tree!!" Then he stomped off like a big baby! Wow! We were picking in the exact same place where we were actually directed to pick just 2 weeks ago. When we finally found the sign it read "don't pick not ripe." Lol. What a joke. They were ripe 2 weeks ago and they are ripe today! My dime anyway. I'm paying. I can pick whatever apples I want to pay for. That's why it's called "U pick!" I'm hoping he's the owner. If he's not , he should be fired! Immediately! Won't ever be back. Ever! And we'll tell others about our experience as well. He was willing to do all this in front of families with children! If in fact we really shouldn't have been picking in that location, there was a billion ways he could have told us that nicely and we would have apologized for missing the sign and happily picked elsewhere. Instead, we left, humiliated and embarrassed. Must be new owners. We've never been treated like that there before. Come to think of it, we've never been treated like that anywhere before in our life, and we're in our 60's. Can only wish them all the luck ......they're going to need it. Hard no from us! read more
