There are lots of signs where you can purchase and pick berries. At the brewery itself it lives up to it's namesake as the brewery is in a barn. One side of the brewery is a stage and a fair amount of outdoor seating while on the other side is a sizeable parking lot which is good as this brings in a lot of people it seems. The inside of the barn is nice and roomy like a lot of these barn breweries are and even though it was busy it was spacious where everyone had some space. But now onto the beer! The Black Dog Stout was one of the three beers we had. This was a good, solid stout. It had coffee elements and sweetness in the flavor profile. The beer was smooth and creamy which is how a good stout should be as well as the hue which is nice and dark. The following beer really put us in a quandary as to which of the remaining two would be our favorite. The Bailar Con Maiz was the next beer we had and we were just thrilled to have it. Of course I am very partial to Mexican Lagers this one was excellent and one of the best ones I had in recent memory. This beer is malty, corn flavor, smooth and light bodied. The final beer was also excellent and I think had a slight edge over the Mexican Lager as it was so different and good. The Mead Honey Lager was the next one and it was so good and so unique! It had that mead essence going on due to the honey. The beer is sweet if that isn't obvious because of the Honey but not too much and has a dry flavor features at play. Also this beer is smooth and light bodied. The three beers we had we really enjoyed and hope to try out more Big Barn beer options in the future!

We especially liked the fried pickles app! A unique thing they do on their menu, is list both a cash price versus credit card price, which I think other places should consider doing. The taproom is out in a residential and forested area which gives the taproom a great atmosphere and approach to it. Once you park your car you can walk up a briefly lengthend path to the taproom. If the weather is nice sitting outside enjoying your beer really comes full circle. Not that the inside of the taproom isn't pleasant. It's wooded look is very nice. The beer selection is pretty unique and I had to take a moment to ponder what I wanted. In the end I got the Jalapeño Saison. It isn't too spicy hot at all but has an excellent peppery taste to it and was really enjoyable to drink. I went here by myself but Steve and I are planning to pass through Spokane again later this summer and this will be an essential stop for us. In fact it could be a stop we make each and every time we are in Spokane because I enjoyed the brewery that much.

QBC is my 308th brewery! Not exactly local for us but it was a great little day trip…read more It was pretty cold so no outside seating today but no worries as QBC has a nice indoor bar area. I told the beer tender to set me up with a flight of five, while SWPFTD ordered a pint of the Angel Peak Amber. Purple Flat Top hazy IPA is a really good IPA with great hop flavor but very manageable bitterness. Peewee Falls hoppy Pilsner didn't work for me. It had a little bit of an aroma and flavor that didn't appeal. YMMV. Timber Mountain tripel was good for me. I was tempted to go with a pint of this but decided on another. Iron Mountain stout had a nice roasty chocolatey flavor to it. Very drinkable! Bangs Mountain dark Kolsch was a good beer as well. I also tried the amber which SWPFTD ordered. This was a decent little amber. SWPFTD approved. Our daughter-in-law had ordered the wassail and it was pretty cool to see they had one on. I decided to go ahead and revisit the hazy IPA. They don't have food at QBC but they had a food truck when we arrived. Lola's Good Eats was REALLY good! QBC is a great spot. Great beer and all! It can be accessed through town festivals.. make sure you know for sure the brewery is participating however. Also you can get their beer in bottles at the Odessa grocery store and at a country club west perhaps a half a mile or so from the grocery store going west. Be sure to also look at their Facebook page to see where they may have other guest taps at other locations as well. The beer I had from Rocky Coulee I really enjoyed! It was their Summer Lite beer which was indeed light and had a good breadiness feature to it in which I always enjoy! After looking at the brewery's Untapped page on the app I see that there are indeed other intriguing beers I'd like to try at another opportunity!

They are very knowledgeable. They know their beers! It's made right there. I believe there are 20 on-tap. They have home-brew bottles as well. They sell beer drinker's comfort food; sausages, potato chips, etc., along with all the fix'ens. The range of types of beers is phenomenal. From light, to medium to dark stouts. All are listed with their alcohol content. I saw one the other day that was over 12%! The strong ones linger around 7 or 8%. Beer types change as they brew more. As it turned out, we came back three times after that first visit! We'd be there tonight, except we had to head home. The beer is amazing. Good variety and just really well made (in my humble opinion). Plus, they have homemade dog treats and great people food (I've heard - didn't go at dinner time yet). And games! We were playing cribbage, and several people came up and asked if we wanted to join the brewery's cribbage tournament! How fun. The owner, the beertenders, and the customers were all friendly and welcoming. The space itself is cute, with great music and plenty of seating at picnic tables and high tops.
