As for Greenbluff, I dont get there too often, but I have always have a good time when I go there. I've been to the Apple Cider celebration. I had a good time too. The apples they raise there are just wonderful. I went to the peach festival too, and had a wonderful time. I think Greenbluff is a wonderful and productive area for Spokane.

I try and go to this Farmer's Market a few times a year…read more They have a mixture of veggies, fruit, baked goods, meats, eggs, prepared meals, crafts, and even mead to drink. Early in season they have people selling plants for your garden. It can be hot on hot days since it is on a parking lot. People can block walkways as they gather in groups. Random kids run around. So if those things are a negative to you? Maybe not an event for you. It has started leaning heavily toward food trucks. I se this as a negative because it leads to people showing up just to eat, not to shop, and sitting on sidewalks eating and overstuffed trash cans. Still the fresh fruit and baked goods make it worth a shop.

You can tell there was a thorough thought process when designing the layout of this market. We picked up some Scones from Scone Ranger, some honey, some cheese, and other trinkets. I had been keeping my eyes peeled for a produce stand and was excited to find this place! This little store is pretty old-school. It's run by a sweet older gentleman and features many varieties of fruit, veggies, and a limited selection of groceries. Many of his items seem to be "seconds" (perhaps bruised fruit, or a veggie a little past its prime) but the prices make a stop here worth it if you're willing to dig around for the good stuff (or just cut off the "bad" parts when you get home). I bought a HEAP of fruit and veggies here and only spent $15. Wheeler's is cash only, so keep that in mind if you stop. And be sure to ask him about the cool antique phone on the counter - it still works!

This is something I look forward to each week (when expenses allow) as I know everything is made with care and love. I encourage everyone visiting or living in the area to stop by, if you love Korean BBQ the church adjacent to the market has a killer deal. $10 will get you a plate that'll fill you up with a happy tummy for your shopping needs!

No candles, jewelry, crafts, or other stuff that permeates so many "farmer's markets." This is what a farmer's market should be. Lots of produce and baked goods. Tasty scones. Surprised by all the fresh, local grown produce. And a guy selling dried mushrooms of all kinds. We bought from all the vendors today. Purple potatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli, green beans, yellow zucchini, and dried mushrooms. I bet the Saturday market is even better. I notified Yelp to update the address as it still showed the old 5th Avenue location. We drove around for quite a while to find the market and glad we did.

Yes, I'm a creature of habit I drove all the way to Spokane for Islander stuff. HAPA served me a great heap of fried rice. After that, I checked out the crepes at crepecafesisters. There is also public use bathrooms that aren't port a potties, in side stores that require patronage, or generally nonexistent like most outdoor farmers markets. Fresh flowers, produce, salsas, bread, baked goods, local brews/ciders, jewelry, artwork, and more is there to peruse. The market always has great variety but I go mainly for two things; Fetch Dog Bakery and Big Daddy's Honey. Occasionally I will partake at the Scone Ranger as well but it's the English toffee I'm perpetually out of luck on (they did say you can call the a few days before and say you are coming to the market and would like a certain flavor). Their other flavors are enticing too. My mother in law loves the orange cranberry. Fetch Dog Bakery is so adorable and if you weren't paying close enough attention to the little trailer, you'd think their delicious offerings were of the human variety. Granted, there are options for humans but it's intent is to be a great place to get really affordable and fresh treat options for your pets. Plus, their clientele (aka all kinds of dogs) is always fun to watch "shop". I usually get the 4 for $3 little flavored doggie bagels. Our dogs love them! Then I head down to Big Daddy's Honey and I get a jar of spun honey. If you've never had spun honey, I highly recommend it! It is the perfect companion to so many things; donuts, fry bread, biscuits, waffles, crepes, spoonful in tea, the list goes on and on. You just want to make sure to store correctly so it doesn't separate. My niece was a big big fan of the Lush Cotton Candy. It's customizable and every kid's confectionery dream. It that was big enough to share with her cousins but didn't because those were her chosen flavors and colors.
