Spokandy - Sugar free jam

Spokandy

1.17.26: I was specifically looking for sugar free chocolates for a birthday gift and after some…read moreresearch, I discovered Spokandy carried a small selection of sugar free. The travel time to get there was a little over an hour. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and I told them what I was looking for. They were really helpful and showed me the section of pre-wrapped sugar free options and then they had a section of sugar free chocolates in the display case, where you can purchase anywhere from 1 piece to pounds--price is based on weight. I purchased both wrapped boxes and some more from the display case. I was amazed at the variety and selection of sugar free chocolates and candies that was offered and bought several items to create a sugar free gift basket for my friend's mom, who is a diabetic that loves sweets and chocolates. They also had a sugar free huckleberry jam that I couldn't pass up. Of course, I picked out a handful of treats for myself, which consisted of truffles, jelly sticks, several key lime inspired chocolates, chocolate covered Oreos, marshmallow caramels, a pecan log, and a huge cookies and cream rice krispie treat. The store is pretty big and has a wide variety that even the pickiest of eaters could find something to satisfy their pallet. There's many novelty and gift items, which was fun to look at. They even have a photo booth and props to take pics with. The two female employees working were nice and Ciera, who helped me was really patient and answered all my questions. With Valentine's Day around the corner, Spokandy is ready and has you covered!

Subpar chocolates at best. Their signature mints are hands down the best product, even those are…read morejust good, not great. The other chocolates and truffles we bought were overly sugared, and clearly had low cocoa content, even the "dark" chocolate. The flavors and quality are more in line with mass-produced supermarket chocolate than what you'd expect from an actual chocolatier. For the prices I expect actual high quality, high cocoa content chocolate. extremely disappointing and not worth the time or price. On top of that the staff wasn't friendly and seemed bothered by any question we asked about the chocolates. We will not be back.

Godiva Chocolatier - Augustus Gloop goes for a dip

Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do…read more Remember Augustus Gloop from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He was the spoiled rotten, gluttonous kid who fell into the milk chocolate river in the factory, despite warnings of danger. Well, this is nothing less than one of the great forbidden love scenes of all time. I imagine I am a svelte girl version of Augustus and the river is Godiva Chocolate. I would so go for a dip. Really good chocolate is simply bliss and Godiva is really good chocolate.

Second experience at a Godiva Store, surprisingly I have never been to any of the stores in my…read morehometown or in Boston surprise surprise. Most products as usual are priced over the line, but hey it's European chocolate mimicking the ones available in stores throughout Brussels! Well there is something tailored to everyone here. You can order chocolate shakes if they still have them around. Try the raspberry toffees or the chocolate drops with the sweetened salted almond truffles. Right amount of sugar too, this is not a sugar mill, otherwise no amount of mouthwash can erase the sticky sensation. Will not increase your dental insurance bills before the annual premium is due. Anything coated with tints of vanilla is super tasty. Once you pop those small pieces of handmade cacao, let everything swoon around your mouth. This will be enough to tame the most bad behaved of little children, think Jack Jack. Sometimes their custom orders will have new products based on the changes in different seasons. I know plenty of paparazzi members who would faint at the fragrant smell of so much chocolates. A toast to one of seven deadly sins. Some of the stuff is SOO DIVINE like Apollo's most finely created edible and most perfect primordial pebble! Or the cream of the crop of the many limestones used to create the traditional Calçada pavement haughtily constructed by the first tyrannical ruler who never had to possess the title of a member of a royal household (Mr. Marques do Pombal)! Who wouldn't envy the power to turn SOME objects into Godiva chocolates with the touch of one finger at this rate? It is jawbreaking how this place is smack in the heart of downtown Spokane, I rarely have to drive down to get here. Notice, most parking spaces in the area fill up and you would have to avoid getting dinged badly for attempting to perform the two minute absent driver running motor technique.
