Kristy is a gem!! As for the shop in general, it is always clean and well maintained. Everyone in the shop is pleasant. Most of the other people working there seem to be barbers and clients are males getting haircuts. They give good clean cuts from what I've seen. I really like the shop's online booking system. Makes it easy and convenient to book appointments. The system sends text confirmations and reminders too. The only downside can be parking, especially at lunchtime. The parking lot is very small and there is a restaurant that shares the space. Street parking is available though. All in all Eddie's Edition is a good shop barber cuts and limited women's styling.

Unfortunately, when it came to payment, I have had a very bad experience. In the shop, I was charged $95.58 for a long cut, shampoo, and tip. I was quoted $65 online when I made my appointment for a long cut only and the stylist did not note there would be an additional charge for shampooing when she brought me to the basin. I should have asked, but it also should have been more clear. I was called about an hour after I left the shop to give my CC info over the phone because the first charge did not go through. This time, I was charged $76.80 for the same services. A few days later, both transactions settled in my account. I left a few voicemails, and did not hear back. When I finally got someone on the line, they said they'd refund the $95.58. Today, a refund for $76.80 settled in my account. While I'd like to come back for another haircut in the future, I'd be very hesitant to do so because of the way transactions are handled by staff.

The hair that Adriana had to deal with was "virgin" hair untouched by processing but very fine. I don't know anything about balayage (and that it works from the tips to the root, not vice-versa) so she helpfully showed me a few pics of gray highlighting and we were set to go. I love the ambience there; very chillax. This happened right between Thanksgiving and Christmas and you get burnt out on all the bouncy music everywhere you go. Luckily, I picked a very quiet establishment with just soft jazzy versions of the holiday stuff. The many live plants as decor really adds to the spa vibe. Make sure you keep your voices low so as not to disturb other patrons, many of whom are fellow Asians like me. I read on their website about the "Head Spa" that they do, which is kind of a 20/40/60 minute facial but for your scalp. Those chairs are so comfy you will, if you're not careful, fall asleep. Every major service (cut and highlights for me) will include a scalp massage. They block out the overhead lights and you feel like you're floating lying down. I might come back regularly for this alone. I recommend this place for people who have stress headaches. They say they use pure jojoba and help exfoliate your scalp. The total for a long hair cut was $94 and the cost of highlights was $325. You put down $100 deposit with your credit card when you make the appointment and they don't cash it until your service is complete. Make sure you're on time or early (I suggest at least 15 mins) or you will be charged 100% penalty. Parking is limited to behind Lake Ave in "Shoppers Lane." If they run out of spots you can also park at the Trader Joe's (west side of Lake) and just buy something there so you can get validated. It was pricey but well worth it. My stylist advised that I come in every few months for toner rinse to keep the highlights bright since the gray will just come in naturally after that. Don't be afraid to do it! Ask for Adriana.

I have textured hair but I look like I got smacked by a tornado It was $120 for this :( I drove out from west LA because I really trusted this salon but I think... it's time to find a different one or try Reyka again :(

She was quick to get me scheduled in that same week. Thank goodness! I was going back to work soon so I wanted to cut my hair before then. Fast forward to my appointment. I parked on the street in front of the store. I was greeted by Stephanie right away. She let me change into a salon gown and we started chatting about what I'd like all while washing my hair. I told her I want a trim and some layers. However I'm losing my hair so I wanted to see what she recommended to make it still look full and healthy. Stephanie suggested cutting the thin ends of my hair and doing layers in the front. I'd say the wash, cut and hair dry took about an hour. Which felt quick since we had really good chat about motherhood. Since I'm so low maintenance with my hair, I let her take the lead, did everything she recommended and I'm SO happy that I did! It's literally the best hair cut I've ever gotten. We took off about 7 inches from the bottom and my hair still looks long. The layers shape my face and I feel brand new! I can appreciate a good ol' fashioned barbershop that is great at their craft on a consistent basis. I already know what to expect and that the minute I walk out of the shop I'll be oozing with self confidence and a dapper cut. I've tried pretty much every barber in the shop and all do a great job but my go to guy is Chris. Chris is able to get my haircut knocked out with precise execution in a matter of 20-25mins. This is unheard of for my thick, straight brillo pad hair type. He also offers a super easy to use online option to setting an appointment that I love and lastly he's able to get me in at 8am!!! I love this because I don't have to take time off work or make any adjustments to the rest of my schedule for the day. Their haircut rates are much better than any other shop around ($25 adult haircut) and on Wednesday's you can even get a special customer appreciation rate of $18. That's a steal. This is definitely my go to barbershop and I'd recommend anyone to come check them out.
