I came here the other day for the first time... And got a really good cut. The place is your typical barbershop maybe seven or eight chairs a waiting area that accommodates like ten people, with a vending machine and a few bits of reading material. Unless you have "your barber" they'll just call whoever is next, last chair on the left I ended that with Jose and lucked out although everybody in there seems like they know what they're doing. I kind of wish it was a little shorter with the wait and cut but the results are worth it. I'll definitely be back. Back here for the fourth time and I have to say this place is the business. Each time I leave with a great cut and shave. If you're prone to razor bums these guys will give you a good close shave, with a razor and it will stay smooth all week. read more

Jose is a true life saver. If you ever find yourself in need of a resurrected hairline or just in need of a nice haircut, Jose is your guy! I moved to LA from Hawai'i about two months ago & the search for a new barber was one of the most difficult things about transitioning here. Note: I was with my previous barber back home for almost 5 years! Anyways, I've tried two other barbers out here in LA before coming to Jose. To keep a long story short, I wasn't happy with the cuts I received from these two previous barbers and I don't blame them. I am an islander so the texture of my hair is similar to a mixture of African and Hispanic hair. If you've never cut hair with this sort of texture before, it can be quite difficult. So trying my luck for the third time, I decided to go to Jose as he was was recommended to me by a relative. This brotha is the real deal. He takes his time and he is also very detail oriented. He did notice that the texture of my hair was a bit different however, he figured out how to work with it and still delivered a fresh cut. Definitely will be going to him from now on. read more

On the positive side: Haircuts look fresh as they walk out of this barbershop. On the negative side: I was a walk-in with 2 guys sitting in the chairs and 2 guys in the waiting area. Some how, I waited an 1hr and 30min. First, a 'primo' that was here earlier then he left; his place in the line was 'saved'! Another 'primo' had an appointment with a barber so he went to the front of the line. And 2 more 'primos' some how snuck in front of me! There's definitely a system here and certainly favoritism. If your a local, figure out the system soon. If your not a local, make an appointment or expect to wait a very long time and know a 'primo' will be jumping in front of the line! read more

I've been coming here since I was maybe 13? Maybe younger, what I do know is that I've watched Saul and Obed (the owners) gain weight and some grey hairs ha! When you walk in you're greeted by name and to handshakes which to me is amazing customer experience and that's rare now a days. This is a no thrills barbershop so while you'll find a nice TV to pass some time while you wait, you won't be playing video games or listening to music. These guys are a Pasadena stable just like Lucky Boy and the turkey tussle. Many barbers have come and gone but this place still stands, over the last couple of years I've been getting my haircut by Gio (tall lanky guy who never looks mad) I'm very picky about everything so why would my hair be any different? I've never had a bad haircut and Gio does such a great job my friends starting going to him. These guys can do it all, fades, tapers, undercuts, shaves etc... This isn't some hipster salon with a bunch of hype, just a great place to get your haircut. Tell Gio richie sent you, he won't give you any hook ups and when you tell him you don't really know me it'll be awkward but I just want him to know I'm spreading the good word. If you're not the patient type definitely call and make an appointment, these guys are full staffed but since they're busy (great sign that they know what they're doing) there will be a wait time. This review is way long overdue... what can I say about this place? First off I've been coming here since 2006, I walked in by accident and ended up getting a cut. All I can say is consistency and perfection is an understatement. Regardless of what time you come in or what day, your haircut will look exactly like you asked, and te same as you have always asked if you are a returning customer like my self. They are all very friendly and hella funny! They all know me by my name and treat me more like a friend than a customer! They are very professional and they tend to be full, so try to get an appointment with time. Even tho same day appointment may be open sometimes. Now all the barbers are great! Some guys here have over 20 years experience, so you know they know what they are doing. As far as my preference I specifically request my appointments with Gio! Although young Gio has only been cutting for 4 years, his skill/ work is exceptional and holds its self to a higher standard. Gio has a passion for his work and is always trying to make it better! He competes in barber competitions and has taken many prizes, I have no doubt in his work and his consistency never fails! Gio I hope you never move cause you're cutting my hair till the day I die. Been here 3 times, and each time I leave without haircut. they have 5 barbers cutting hair and even if u been waiting 45 mins as walk in they still take appointments first. This was last draw, today I waited 1hr as walk in was 3rd person with 5 barbers. They were all too busy looking at soccer game taking their time. 5 barbers in 1hr I was waiting and I was next and here comes appointment guys who made me wait even longer. So I keep looking at all the barbers and they too busy watching soccer game to hurry up and so their job and keep customers from waiting. They should change name from great barbershop to great beauty salon cause real barbers don't take appointments it's first come first serve. Especially when pressed on time. Best haircut my 9yo son has had. He has very straight hair which can easily show a mediocre cut's errors. No such thing here. Even for a kid, they pay attention to detail. I seriously thought the barber was going to pull a ruler out and measuring. He got a great cut and the barbers are SO NICE that he felt immediately at ease. My barber Jose is the best of the best. Every time I come in to get a hair cut Jose makes you feel as comfortable as possible from beginning to end. When cutting my hair Jose makes sure to takes his time on every single detail making me feel fresh and more confident about myself when leaving the barbershop.
