First time here at Edition Studio. I booked my appt online with Faye for cut and color. She responded to me via text to get to know my hair condition, and she was also very flexible with time. I honestly came in with no expectations.(Also me being very indecisive) She evaluated my hair and told me the hair color that she think would look good and the hair style that fit my head shape. The whole process took about 2 hours, and I was very happy with the result! She was very detailed with every cut, and she also gave me tips on how I can blow dry my hair in the morning. 12/21/2025 Stylist: Faye Sunday afternoon, lots of parking in the neighborhood. The storefront is quite unassuming so you will miss it if you're not careful. Memorize the front! It's a petite white building. Very beach-esque feel when you see it from the front. Faye: She uses almost all scissor cuts and only resorts to an electric razor when she needs to trim tiny parts of your hair. This is a huge reflection of her attention to detail. Barbers use electric razors for two main reasons: 1. They want to create hard geometric lines. The finished product is clean and sharp. Or 2. They are lazy. Faye systematically parsed through section of my hair using only scissors. This provides a more natural look that most Asian men want. Because of our rounded features, we don't want hard lines that Americans are used to. She, then, hand styles my hair to match what I wanted. I was greeted with a friendly face and was offered some water as I wait for my appointment with Kim. They asked if I wanted sparkling or cold water! Thats fancy! There is plenty of street parking and residential, but they have a very small parking lot of their own. This is an additional salon associated with Eddie's just a few blocks north of here. This location is bright, clean, has great air conditioning and intimate. The atmosphere is very chill, quiet and focused. I called this morning to ask if they do consultations before haircut appointments. They told me that usually do one before a cut and asked who I was interested in. I was told Faye would be free at 12 and Peter at 130. I told them if it was okay if I walked in at 12 for a consult and book an appointment from there and they said that was fine. I drove over and what a waste of time. When I came in no one greeted me. I sat down and waited for a bit until a woman from the back came out and asked if I had an appointment. I told her no and she just walked to her chair. No questions as to why I came, what my name was, do I need help, what I was there for, they seemed to not care at all. I sat there for 20 minutes and not a single word to me as to why I was there from anyone. I watched the same woman literally walk past me to make a drink behind the front desk then back to her chair and she still didn't bother asking why I was there. They didn't even look at me. Not one single person asked me anything or at least told me how long before they could talk to me. Credit to them I guess if you have an appointment but if you don't I guess you're literally worthless. I walked out and went home. Who knows how long they were going to have me wait. So happy that Eddie opened another location in San Gabriel! I've been seeing Eddie for my haircuts since 2019, and he is truly the best. My hair grows out like a bush, making it difficult to look good on top since I can't do the side part like most guys. I think most barbers can do a good fade on the sides and back (which Eddie can do as well), but where he goes above and behind is his technique and attention to detail to make the transition from the top to the fade on the sides look good. His cuts are the best of anyone I've ever seen, and every cut is consistently great. His salons are also all just pleasant environments to be in, such a nice change of pace from most men's barber shops playing loud music or overly bright lights. Update: weirdly, in photos, the sides and back do look accurate to the shade I wanted. The front does look a bit different I've been cutting my hair myself for the past 3 years and decided I wanted to treat myself to a bold color and haircut. Faye was really great. She took the time to make sure everything was perfect, from the color to the actual hairstyle. During the haircut, I noticed it was a bit longer than I wanted, and I told her she could cut it shorter. And she accommodated my request and checked in with me about the length thereafter. The color is vibrant and bright, just like I wanted. It wasn't the exact shade I had in mind; I definitely should've double checked the shade before it was applied (my bad) but the color that came out was still amazing. Overall great service, Faye was really nice, and the salon was welcoming and clean. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

I booked an appointment with Eddie about one month and a half ago. He is still exceptionally skilled when it comes to cutting my hair and picking out a style for me. I appreciate that fact that he asked me questions about all the important things to with hair before cutting, because when it comes to find a style that will suit a person, knowing details about things like how often you wash your hair to how often do you use hair products to even how often you go get your hair cut helps with deciding the overall haircut.
