Oysters. Char Grilled. One so big I couldn't swallow it!
Adam H.

Not sure this is the place for me! Actually, just kidding, I'm sure that it isn't. I'll just leave this here in case any versions of future Adam decide to get daring and eat here again. I have been to the one in Gulfport and found it lackluster. I thought maybe it was a one off fluke, as everyone pumped it up so much, I was unimpressed completely. Tried this one in Flowood, and I was even less impressed. I had some kind of sampler with chargrilled oysters, shrimp, crab cakes, and some other fried foods. The oysters were full of shell bits and one was so big I didn't even try to eat it. Factory fries, factory Hushpuppies, along with some foreign fried ball that I thought was a Hushpuppy. Eww. What was that?!?!? Just no! Not sure what it is about Madison County and bad restaurants. I feel sorry for the residents here. Poor things, bless their little hearts. There are only three places I have eaten in KidRockVille that are worth even eating. Elvie's, Walker's Drive In, and Pulito Osteria. That's it.... I'll take all other suggestions please! I frequent the city a good bit and like to eat good food. My list of no's just keeps growing!! My server was really nice and tried to warn me on my food choices. I should have listened. She brought the deuces for them! '25 - 48/111

Thank you Angelo for your superb service tonight. My husband and I were looking for a place with great appetizers and drinks. You were very attentive, easy to talk to and made our experience delightful.

At my old stomping grounds! Reviewing as I go! The host was very polite & there was no wait although the parking lot was full. Austin is my waiter today. He was super speedy with my beverageand so far has been very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the orleans oysters. They were a bit over cooked today but still delicious. A Caesar side salad and the sweet potato side with a pot pie topper. It was wonderful. Will be back

I didn't have high expectations, but thought it would be at least as good as Copeland's since it's a local franchise. The best thing I had was the salad which was very fresh. The fish was a little "off", meaning it tasted kind of old. The stuffing on top was overly salty as well. My husband let me have one of his shrimp (which looked gorgeous), but tasted like it was straight out of a bag.

In person, these nachos are amazing!!!! They taste great! But the fact that I had this order to go and it looked like this is crazy. It's disappointing! The food here is great, but for $17 for an order to go, this ain't it.

Food was amazing!! Didn't get a chance to sit down but the front staff brought my food out quickly. Ambiance is always really nice upscale vibes!

Great food. Never disappointed . Try their sweet potato brûlée, it's a must have. Can sit at the oyster bar while you wait.

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

I wanted to go Tuesday but coworkers didn't want to go out. Tried to go Wednesday but they were closed for dinner. My flight was leaving later in the day on Thursday and I had to try to go. Online it said they were open at 10 am. I checked out of the hotel and headed to the restaurant. There were already a lot of people waiting for them to open. To my surprise they opened at 10:30. When the doors opened people were "fighting" to get inside. This is a buffet setting. You pay before eating. To go plates are available for purchase. There is an upstairs eating area. I think there were 3 hot stations, a cold station, and a desert station and an ice cream machine. All the food looked so good. I had to get a little taste of everything. The fried chicken and fried chicken livers were Hands down my favorite things. I like greens that are tangy with a little spicy - these were not that. The cornbread was hard couldn't eat it. Everything else was ok. Nothing that I had that "gotta go back for more" feeling (except the chicken). There were so many offerings, and they have Pepsi products. They have a drink station but The servers bring you drinks. I definitely would go back again if I'm in the area.

Our waiter was extremely polite and very attentive. I can only speak in the items I personally tried the watermelon jalapeño margarita was a 7.5/10. There wasn't a strong watermelon flavor and there really wasn't a kick from the jalapeño. The bartender wasn't definitely not shy with the liquor but it wasn't over powering. The shrimp and crab ceviche was probably a 8/10 ( could've been a 9/10 but it had cucumbers in it). It had a tad bit too much lime juice or lime taste. The shrimp and crab dip was delicious! 9/10. Fresh chips as well. I really enjoyed the pickled red onion addition was really good. Overall Saltine has a great menu selection, warm and welcoming vibe.

Lovely looking place…read more The service was good. Pretty much right there when you needed them with decent recommendations. For appetizers, I loved the lobster and spring roll. That was delicious. Also got the lobster and crawfish dip ok and one can never go wrong with calamari which was also good. For dinner, I had the salmon and grits and kale. It was ok because not quite what I was expecting - I was expecting spicy and it was too sweet for me but might be my fault for not fully reading the description and being focused on the Cajun seared aspect of it. It was still good though. Nothing superb but filling and loved the crunchy kale on top. Really liked that they were open on a Monday and they were fast. At one point, too fast because one of my co- diner's dinner came too soon while still eating their salad. For dessert, we got the cinnamon roll cheesecake and shared it. I only had one bite because it was too rich for me but it was very tasty and good. Unfortunately, we didn't get the oysters which is THE item to get here but it was otherwise a good visit.
