I can't believe I've lived in Burbank all these years and have never been to Half Baked until recently. Their cupcakes are delicious! Right now, they're doing a promotion where purchase of a specialty latte gets you a free cupcake. I got the mocha latte, which was chocolatey and sweet but not too overpowering. The cup was very cutely decorated. The cookies and cream cupcake was excellent. I really loved the cream on top. It was super fluffy and piped on fresh, and the cake had a great texture as well. I wish they had better hours, as I'd probably stop by after work occasionally if they were open for longer. Would definitely visit again!
This is a nice quiet place for a cup of coffee and a quick snack. They have excellent cupcakes and service, you pick out the flavor of cupcake that you would like and they put icing on it in front of you, so it stays fresh. I was really impressed by their service, and the cake itself is really moist. I really appreciate the time and care they put into their orders I feel like a lot of cupcake places will solely focus on the decorating the icing and not the flavor/texture of anything. I honestly never knew butter cream icing could taste so good! I also thought the flower they put on the iced americano was really sweet/cute.
I placed a special order for gender reveal cookies at this cute little bakery and I was extremely pleased. They took my order and made sure I was satisfied with the design before starting and I was incredibly happy with the results. The cookies were so delicious and the design was super cute. They were a hit at the party and no cookie was left uneaten.
WOW! I walked in with a last minute inquiry, an hour before they closed, if Half Baked could put Club Penguin puffles on cupcakes for a powerpoint party. OH MY GOSH. LOOK AT THEM, THEY'RE AMAZING. A hobbit skunk hole cake! Where to begin with this cake. We gasped in delight when we saw it. It was the perfect design matching my husband's hobbit hole ring and my skunk and acorn ring with something funny at the top (Sir Richard Taylor, who we adoringly quote daily). It was almost a shame to ruin this artistry by cutting into it but man, was it delicious! The smaller cake layer was gluten free/dairy free lemon raspberry flavored and everyone who tried both layers liked the gluten free one best. Even my husband liked my cake so much that he said we should have just made the full cake the gluten free flavor. Besides me there were several people with gluten intolerance at our party and no one was accidentally poisoned. I was also really impressed with their selection of gf/v flavors at the cake tasting. I will definitely be ordering more gf/v desserts from Half Baked in the future. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful masterpiece for us!

I can't believe these cupcakes are vegan! They're maybe the best cupcakes we've ever had. We ordered several flavors for my daughter's birthday at Gentle Barn, which requires vegan food only. We ordered an assortment of salted caramel, chocolate, lemon, lemon blueberry, red velvet, strawberries and cream, and cookies & cream. They came out of the oven shortly before my husband arrived and were decorated in a flash, and were basically eaten in a hot second at the party because they were INCREDIBLE! The cakes were moist and flavorful, and the frosting was soft and silky - not like the hard buttercream you get on some cupcakes. We even gave a couple to the Gentle Barn staff and they asked for the store info because they were the best vegan cupcakes ever!
I'm obsessed with Half Baked! Their cupcakes are seriously next level! I also love that they offer vegan and gluten-free options.. such a win when you have dietary preferences. And on top of that, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to.
Super cute little bakery for custom cakes! I heard about this place from a friend and was so excited to try. Overall experience: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5, adorable store that displays cupcakes and cakes. The shop was able to take inspo pics and bring the cake to life for a nursing retirement party and they blew it out of the park! From the other displayed cakes and decor, I'd 100% trust them with a special, custom cake for your celebration. Taste: 4/5. We got the marble cake and the frosting was too sweet. The cake itself tasted yummy, not dry, but I think the sweetness that the frosting brought was overpowered.
Where do I even start? Parking- super easy, plenty of parking. Took my family yesterday for their flight and cupcake tasting, I had never tried so many delicious and unique coffees! First off, the exterior of the building automatically transforms you to a European city! Clean cut and elegant. Inside was out of a movie set! The service was 10/10! We had the opportunity of meeting Christina and Nina, they went through every single cupcake and coffee options, how it was curated, how it named, how it was dreamed of! So much passion. Everything we tried so perfection. We saw how they treated their customers, how they spread love with each and every exchange. I highly recommend anyone near Burbank to stop by!

Longtime fan of Half Baked here, four years and counting! Between our wedding cake a couple years ago, birthday cakes, cupcakes for holidays and just because, everything is delicious and the owners are so sweet and lovely. It's become a place that just feels like home at this point. Look at these cupcakes and cake pops from Valentine's Day! Highly recommend the Pink Lady flavor if you're a strawberry lover. This place is the best, and I look forward to continuing in having them a part of all my celebrations!!
If you want the most delicious and beautiful work of art you can get, Half Baked is the place to go! I don't usually do cakes for my birthday's but I had to for 25 especially since I had this custom design in mind. So, I emailed them with my custom request and Christina & Nina executed the vision perfectly! Also to mention they were soooo nice and easy to communicate with and had fast responses. They really listened to what I wanted. If you check out their website you can see all their flavors, but if you're torn like I was I highly suggest going in and getting a couple of cupcakes to narrow down your choices. I needed a last minute cake so I ended up calling Half Baked day of and they came through for me big time! I called in the morning and the cake was ready by 3pm. I was really impressed with their willingness to work with me so last minute, you can tell their customer service is top notch! Gluten Free? This is for ye! A bunch of family and friends are gluten intolerant. And this means that I am, by extension, often in the gluten free zone. Personally, I eat both gluten and gluten free treats, and have harsh opinions about recipes that lack gluten science. HB gets it right. Although the gluten free alternative recipes for many things are getting better, it is sometimes difficult to find some really good gluten free baked desserts. Not here. FOOD Gluten free cakes, cupcakes, and custom treats from HB are all delicious and moist without being overly oily or gummy. The rising is done remarkably well. (I think I've had their vegan cupcakes accidentally - they were good). (Edit: Oh, their GF macarons are amazing - per my daughter) SERVICE I've never been in the store when it's been particularly busy. Maybe 1 or 2 other people tops. Service there is always good, and custom orders are handled like you're their only client! So nice to be treated with such care. PRICE If you purchase gluten free flours, you know that the ingredients cost more than wheat flour. But the cost for their confections isn't much more than you'd pay at any other custom bakery - and it's something everyone can enjoy. LOCATION It's a little tough to get to, but worth it. If you're in the BURBANK area, you probably have a bunch of hidden gems that are on the "hard to get to" side of the street. Put this on the list with those. Located near the Burbank Costco, there is a lot of traffic in the area sometimes. CUSTOM ORDERS. I've gotten simple cakes from them - really easy. This year: gifts from HB for clients' gift baskets. The cupcakes are fine. But we ordered the cake pops and they tasted like plastic. Five different people found them inedible. They tasted almost chemically. I don't know what was going on with them but had to toss them. Was very confused because their cupcakes are fine, so thought the cake pops would be okay as well. Would really recommend taking cake pops off the menu or revisiting this recipe. Or maybe we just got a bad batch! Either way, these were just baffling bad. I ordered Oreo animal print cake pops for my daughter's birthday and they turned out AMAZING. They did a zebra, cheetah, giraffe, and tiger print (I took pictures AFTER the celebration and so the zebra is not pictured because they had been eaten up). Not only did they look great, they also tasted great. A friend and I were talking about how we have had pretty terrible cake pops from other places in the past that were dry, had too much frosting to cake ratio, or no flavor, etc. But the cake pops from Half Baked nailed it and were really delicious. I paid a little extra to have the pops individually wrapped and tied with a ribbon, which was with it. The pops were the perfect way to share some birthday cake in a pandemic. read more

I think the pictures speak for themselves of how BEAUTIFUL and DETAILED these cake pops turned out!!!The team at Half Baked Co went above and beyond anything I could have expected! The entire team was so kind and strived to make my vision come to life for my cousins 9th birthday that was clearly Pokémon/Kirby themed. This is my first purchase with such a large quantity other than their cupcakes that I've enjoyed for years now and it was such an easy experience knowing the owners/talented bakers have an eye for these things! We had such an amazing experience working with Half Baked for our wedding cake. We were losing hope searching for bakeries that offered delicious vegan flavors and felt defeated. My mom had mentioned Half Baked so we got a tasting box and ended up loving a few flavors. We ordered another box with our final choices and ended up settling on the vegan carrot cake. SO delicious! Never would we have thought that carrot cake would be our choice but this flavor is out of this world. Their customer service was amazing and they made everything easy and hassle free. When I came in for the second cake tasting box, Nina remembered me immediately. You can tell this is a family business and that they put time and dedication into their customers. Walked in and order a dozen vegan cupcakes and the customer service was so pleasing and helpful. The cupcakes were a hit, and I even tried one myself and they were seriously some of the most tasteful, yet not overwhelmingly sweet cupcakes! Favorites were.... We had the pleasure of working with Nina and Christina who were everything you could ask for from a vendor! They were both so responsive and helpful to any question we sent them over email, they set up an AMAZING tasting where we got to try a ton of different cupcakes with our family (which we had a heated debate on which three we liked best because they were all PERFECT), and they truly delivered on the day of our wedding! All of our guests could not stop talking about how tasty the cupcakes were and we think the overall favorite was the honey lavender cupcake, but the others were CLOSE! This is an amazing little Bakery with Vegan and non-vegan options. My boyfriend surprised me with 12 mini vegan cupcakes for Valentine's Day. I was impressed how each cupcake had a different flavor. The cupcakes are extremely soft and very delicious. Probably one of the best vegan cupcakes I have had hands-down. Some of the flavors I remember are lavender, cookies n cream, lemon, pumpkin or chai, strawberry, chocolate, ect. When you walk in, Half Baked Co is very clean and looks fairly new. I can't explain how much I love Half Baked!! They made my law school graduation cake, 100 times more beautiful than the inspiration picture I sent them. This photo doesn't even do it justice - somehow it was more gorgeous in person (no idea how they captured the most amazing shade do purple frosting!) It was so stunningly beautiful that all of my guests agreed it was the most beautiful cake we've seen - I really considered never cutting it so that we could enjoy its beauty all night! Half Baked is probably my new favorite shop for custom cakes/orders! I am very pleased with their top notch service! From great customer service to the amazing creation in the kitchen!!! Oh god the cake I ordered for my son's 1st birthday wasn't just oh so adorable but it also tasted oh sooo great! They definitely exceeded my expectations. I emailed them to inquire for custom order. It was super easy! I showed them a couple of photos, then they scheduled me to come in. I had an appointment with Natalie and she was super nice and listened to what I wanted! I ended up ordering cake pops, custom designed cookies and a super cute 2 tier cake! They also do set up for you on the day of the event/party for additional cost which isn't much! It's only like $25! Which I highly suggest! Don't stress yourself out! They will bake and set up for you! Another thing is that they also rent out cake stands to make your dessert table wonderful! Half baked worked with us to make my daughters first birthday special!! They were very responsive and easy to work with. I really did not want my daughter to have any added sugar since she is so young so they actually created a custom cake recipe which was sweetened by only applesauce and bananas. I reached out to many bakeries and they were the only ones who were happy to accommodate for a minimal change in price. Her birthday cake (which was a "normal" half baked spice cake) was not only beautiful but it was very moist and delicious. They were very helpful in coming up with ideas on how to decorate her cake based on my theme and colors. So happy with the cake! I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a cake for his quarantine birthday and couldn't be happier with the work that Half Baked did. They also turned it around in less than a week which was amazing. My boyfriend loves Bob's Burgers so I wanted that to be the theme. They helped me finalize the look and concept and even helped me with a great birthday pun for the Burger Board. They were easy and fast communicators and it was a fun process. Pick up was super easy and safe. I pulled up in front and someone wearing a mask brought it right to my car. Everyone at the virtual party loved it and especially my boyfriend! I had my 30th birthday cake made at Half Baked Co for: 10/21/2017. It was a one tiered pumpkin cake, covered in buttercream with black fondant horizontal stripes, with gold stripes in the center, with a pink peony on top. The ordering process was a breeze. Natalie and I exchanged e-mails back and forth to discuss the theme, cost, design, etc. She was very knowledgeable and very kind! Customer service was excellent! I eventually settled on the design and received my quote. The cost was acceptable for what I wanted ($295 approx). We then arranged for a cake tasting, for which the cost of such would apply to the cake balance. I went by the bakery and tasted about 9 flavor combinations (of mini cupcakes) and absolutely fell in LOVE with the pumpkin spice flavor. It was delicious!! The cake was very moist and flavorful, and the frosting was sweet! On the day of my party, my bf picked up the cake and it was sealed tightly and meticulously. My cake turned out beautifully! It was decorated perfectly! (I am highly picky and a perfectionist and it passed my test). My guests loved my cake. At first, some were apprehensive when I told them it was pumpkin, but when they tasted the cake they fell in love just as I had. I received tons of compliments on the design, and the taste. My experience with Half Baked Co. was a very positive one. Whenever I need a custom cake for an event, without a doubt I will contact their bakery! A cute bakery that has vegan options and specializes in cupcakes and macaroons. Came here on the suggestion of a vegan friend and I left plenty happy. Lots of cupcake flavor options from regular to vegan choices. Each cupcake is individually frosted/topped when ordered which makes the topping taste fresh and not like its been sitting. The cupcakes themselves are moist and flavorful and not dry like some other places. The service here was fast and friendly and the shop itself has a cute layout with some seating. On my visit got the strawberry and creme cupcake and the lemon and strawberry macaroon. The macaroons were ok, though I'd recommend sticking to the cupcake which I thought were good. This review is long overdue but I must say it exceeded my expectations with wanting a black cake and "gold" flower petal like designs! I went in with the idea of wanting to order a black cake for my birthday and Christina helped me out in deciding the flavor combinations. My guests and I loved the texture and softness of the cake so I truly was happy with the outcome! We have been working with Half Baked for over a year and a half for our wedding cake and we absolutely love this bakery! From our initial tasting to the designing process, everything was so seamless and we didn't have to worry about anything. Their team is on top of everything, we couldn't thank them enough and were delighted to have them as our cake vendor. Not to mention the cakes are delicious. Does anyone know how much of a notice they need for a small 8-12 person custom cake?
A week or more if possible, but sometimes can be done in less depending on availability!
Can they make custom cakes like butterfly shape?
I would say Yes! They created the cake I needed and their communication is great! Really listen and work with you and I have no doubt they can make that cake!

You can sit there. But it's not really that kind of place.
