Recommended! I stumbled upon this place while searching for a bakery to buy a birthday cake. It was highly regarded so I was excited to try! I got their Chocolate Fudge cake and it didn't disappoint. It was a bundt style cake with a beautiful drizzle frosting. The cake was moist, not too sweet, and had bits of chocolate chips. I ordered online and the pick up process was easy. They are located in a business area and towards the end of a narrow parking lot. Looking forward to my next cake from them! read more

So glad I found this bakery on Yelp! Not only was the cake beautiful, it was also DELICIOUS!! It's hard to see in the photo, but the cake had edible glitter on the outside, it was simply BEAUTIFUL. Perfectly moist cake and the whipped cream was fresh and not too sweet. It was a perfect ratio of whipped cream to strawberries. The strawberries were amazingly sweet and fresh!They have definitely gained a new customer. Looking forward to trying other flavors in the future. What happened to the Butterscotch Cheesecake??? OMG Aunt Joy is Joy Harmon of "Village of the Giants" and other classic films of the 50's and 60's! I was waiting to pick up my cake and the movie posters were the tip off - I had flashbacks of my adolescence and they were good. Joy segued to baking cakes and continues to spread joy! read more

This is my one and only bakery needed for any Birthday party going forward! Needed to order a delicious cake for a 40th Birthday. Ordered a 12 inch round chocolate frosting with yellow cake combo. That classic Birthday cake but ELEVATED. SO yummy, moist, Delish! people were asking to take extra slices home. We also ordered a range of cookies for the dessert table, and they did not disappoint! I was planning a spongebob themed 25th birthday party for my boyfriend (yes, spongebob). I needed a cake pretty quick at Ralph's and Albertson's has a copyright rule that I can't use pictures off the internet (even if I edited it myself... which therefore doesn't make it copyright, but what evs). I came here for a custom cake hoping for quick results. Not only was she helpful, but quick too. I was there for MAYBE 10 minutes only because I had to email her my image. We got a marble cake and it was so moist and delish. The best part, the frosting wasn't TOO sweet like how usual buttercream frosting is. When I went to pick it up, it was RAINING! She still offered to help me to my car, but I refused only because it was raining, I had an umbrella that only covers about a 7 year old child, and her chefs uniform was completely white. Although she did add that if I DO need help, she would be more than happy to help. Overall great service, kind people, and really nice job on the cake. Also, there's no store front so don't expect to see examples of cakes or ideas, it's only a counter to write down your order and that's it, the rest is the kitchen! read more

I was so happy to find Aunt Joy's Cakes. After being turned away by so many other bakers as I had a strange flavor combination (apricot filling and mocha buttercream) Aunt Joy herself said, "sure we can make that." They didn't just make a cake, they made an incredibly delicious confection. A perfect crumb to the sponge. The apricot filling was smooth as silk and I have to say, they make one of the best buttercream's that I have ever tasted. The entire staff was so great to deal with and the cake was beautiful. I first tried a cake from Aunt Joy's at a work event and was so impressed I asked where it was from and added a bookmark on Yelp. Several years later I finally had the occasion to order a cake of my own from Aunt Joy's, and the Berry Whip Cream cake was as delicious as I remembered! It's a white cake layered with fresh berries and frosted with whipped cream. The cake is light and fluffy and just the right level of sweetness. It sort of reminds me of the triple berry cake from Sweet Lady Jane's, but the cake texture is lighter compared to SLJ. And the price of course is less expensive. You can opt for pick up (free) or delivery (for a fee). We opted to pick up at their location in Burbank on Flower Street and it was quick and easy. I stored the cake overnight for a party the next day and it kept very well in the refrigerator. I also requested the cake be plain (undecorated) so we could decorate using fresh flowers. Will be back for more cakes in the future! read more

To those who love the Triple Berry Cake from Sweet Lady Jane's, be prepared for Aunt Joy's Berry Whip Cream Cake! Aunt Joy can kick Lady Jane's a$$ any day!! The cake itself was sooo moist and all the berries (strawberries, black berries, raspberries, and blue berries) were super fresh. The homemade whipped cream is what makes it stand out the most. It wasn't too sweet and it had the perfect consistency, it was like a cloud in my mouth. I was literally just picking out the fruit on top and adding a lot of whipped cream to it. I was addicted! I'm so glad my sister, Sharon B., got this cake for her birthday! They also gave her some complimentary cookies to taste and they were delicious as well! There were about 3-4 that I tasted and I liked them all. Just to note: This isn't your typical bakery where you can pick up an order there at the store. You need to call in ahead at least 24 hours because everything is made to order. Also they are only open M-F from 8AM-4PM. Definitely check their website out, they have lots of other goodies that I can't wait to try out. I think I've found the place for my wedding cake! Now how to snag a groom?!?! read more

I worked remotely with Aunt Joy's from NYC to deliver a cake in LA. They made the process easy and were clear communicators. The final product of a printed image cake was said to be delicious and looked great. I highly recommend Aunt Joy's if you need to plan an event ahead of time and are not present to execute yourself. read more

Besides being extremely close to where I live, this bakery is awesome! From the ease of ordering to the customization to the taste. Everything was perfect! I called, told them my ideas and they said that it was no problem at all! And they came out exactly as I envisioned in my mind. I order 1 dozen chocolate cupcakes and 1 dozen vanilla cupcakes all with a custard filling and asked for lavender frosting and silver dust. So almost a year ago I had the most delicious cake ever and it was from here so I decided to make it my birthday cake for my 21st Birthday. I ordered a Chocolate whipped cream cake with strawberries. I was SO excited after waiting almost a year to get this cake. They didn't ask for any specifications about the order, they just gave me a total and asked what I wanted written on it. My dad picks the cake up and brings it home and it's white! They made the cake itself chocolate but because they didn't ask me to clarify they assumed I meant the cake and not the frosting/whipped cream too. There's a reason I didn't say chocolate cake with normal whipped cream. I said Chocolate whipped cream cake. Then I called them within their hours of business to try and figure something out and they never responded. So now I'm stuck with a $50 cake that wasn't even right for my 21st Birthday. read more

We adore Joy and everyone at Aunt Joys cakes - they are are FANTASTIC salt of the earth hard working, kind people. We have been with Joy from the time she just started thinking of creating her business. She and her kids ran everything out of her own kitchen. Then and now She has created the MOST creative and mouth watering deserts. She created an AMAZING Wedding cake for us - it was so good people were begging and sneaking cake home . Being in the industry We have also enjoyed some things at Sweet Lady janes too. Yes Jane is good, but it is more of a business- and the love isn't there... Naturally, I asked a random customer what all the hype was about, and they told me this place was famous for their croissant pastries. Well... next thing you know, I'm standing in line too after a very full lunch. I ended up trying the Chocolate Almond Croissant for $6.50, and let me tell you something -- I am a HUGE croissant girlie. While I'm not normally the biggest chocolate person, Spain and Portugal recently changed my perspective on dark chocolate, and apparently now I'm in my dark chocolate era. And honestly? This croissant was BETTER than the super popular pastry we had in Barcelona, Spain. The chocolate wasn't overpowering at all -- it had the perfect amount of dark sweetness without being too rich. But the real surprise was the almond filling layered at the bottom. Oh my gosh... chef's kiss. Nutty, creamy, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. Chocolate Almond Croissant -- 9.2/10 I can only imagine how life-changing this would taste fresh out of the oven piping hot. Service was fast despite the line moving constantly, but just know there's no indoor seating. It's very much an order, pick up, and go type of spot. Ambiance was welcoming and super friendly gals. Definitely a must-try, and I'll absolutely remember to stop by again anytime I'm in Burbank. Happy eats!!

Only about a few people so that already got be super excited. I got the almond croissant, chocolate, croissant, butter croissant, almond fancier, and a raspberry danish. My one and half year old devoured the raspberry danish all by herself. She didn't want to share with anyone. This says a lot already. The butter and chocolate croissants were crispy and flaky. Those were probably our favorite. The flavor of the almond croissant wasn't overpowering but wished it was a bit crispier. I feel like I have had better ones elsewhere but if you are in the area definitely worth a try!

They are primarily mousse based and I'll say the mousse texture is perfect. We got 5 different ones and heres my thoughts: La Noissette: yummy hazelnut flavor with chocolate inside 8/10 Strawberry milkshake: 5/10 the flavor was very subtle and surprisingly not that sweet. Mostly mousse with jelly inside Mango tart: 9/10 this one was my favorite. The mango had good flavor. It was sweet but not overwhelming. The tart crust gave it the additional element it needed Rasperry petit gateau: 6/10 also very mild in flavor. Almost sour. Wish it was sweeter. Again mostly mousse Pistachio: 6/10 tasted like pistachio butter. Again all mousse with some pistachios inside and pistachio butter. Good flavor. Would definitely recommend. The desserts are beautiful just wish the mousse based ones had added elements to give them more interest in texture, flavor. Also wish the flavors on the fruit ones were more prominent and a bit sweeter.

There's ice cream, a variety of different flavored fresh cookies, a rack with pies, a self grab freezer with pints of ice cream, AND a freezer with ice creams, dog treats, and chicken pot pie. There's so many options, I've been there a handful of times with my boyfriend and we've ordered something different every time and it always tastes great! There aren't any seats inside of the ice cream parlor, but there are benches right out front that you can sit on to eat your treats. Their red and yellow striped building is impossible to miss. Located in the back of the hut is a small parking lot. I stopped by before work to pick up some donuts and was pleasantly surprised by their selection. They have all the classic donut flavors and then some Asian inspired ones. Matcha, Thai tea, coconut, and some other ones that were sold out when I arrived. They also have giant sized donuts too! The woman at the front was super friendly and gave me a quick run down of their breakfast menu. Ill definitely be back in the future!
