September 20, 2022 I dropped off my vehicle for state inspection at Haley Chevrolet. A few days later I was told it did not passing inspection for failure of hazard lights not connected. Haley wanted to charge me $300 for repairs I told them I would come and get the vehicle and get the part from the nearby salvage yard. A few days later I brought the vehicle back for reinspection, I did not get a call or text or anything for over 24 hours and no one told me until I actually went up there in person that it would not be able to pass again because of the hazards don't stay on when the lights are on? I thought that was odd I could not get back up there right away. I finally rode my bike from home, since I work throughout the weekday, to get the truck on Sunday 25th only to find out my battery completely dead. Luckily there was a NAPA Auto center nearby and I was able to take the battery out and have them recharge it to be able to start my truck and get home. Sure enough the hazzard lights worked just fine regardless of if the vehicle was running not running or all the lights were on or off whether the engine was running or not running. I have video documentation of all this of course. Today October 5th I rode my bike from work to get up there I discovere there is no inspection passing sticker on the truck!? I went to go in and speak to the technician (in this case Jason who has yet to text or call me back since this whole ordeal began). He knew that I was there waiting for you speak to him as the other lady in the service bay clearly and directly spoke to him while I was in his presence that I was there about said vehicle, yet he decided to help someone else so I just left. I have my original key, so I took my vehicle and went home. Moral of the story, avoid Haley Chevrolet. They're unprofessional, they try to swindle you out of money, and they don't return texts or phone calls. ------- ** Update ** Chris, the service manager was great in resolving and apologizing for my experience. He allowed me to bring the vehicle back and show that everything was fixed with the hazard lights, and advised me there were no further issues with my vehicle. I was in and out in under 15 minutes, and I was on my way with a passing inspection sticker. Chris definitely gave me more confidence in the Haley dealership. The only reason I withhold five stars is because there's only one fast charger for my Bolt EV and is almost always blocked or difficult to get to. read more

Overpriced service. Not very helpful on warranty issues. Vehicle #4 (all purchased here new). Made multiple trips for multiple issues. Last trip was for random hard braking. Told fix was to replace brakes, I was like nope too expensive I'll take elsewhere, oh wait now I don't need brakes. Now, I need an update to the automatic braking system, then no my car doesn't have automatic braking, oh but yes it does, oh well, not this kind of automatic braking, you have a different kind. Billed for labor for a "fix" of "improperly installed" (installed by GM) item. This place is a scam, incompetent and a money pit. Go somewhere else. read more

I am not happy with Haley Chevrolet or General Motors. I have been awaiting my new engine since May 2025 and 6 months later, known told me that my engine was not ordered until I arrived at the dealership with my wife on October 31, 2025, to check and see if my engine was ordered. I was informed by the Parts Department Manager and Service Manager Chris that the service advisor Pat did not order my engine. I spoke with Chris infant of Ms. Pat and she explained to them that she wrote my GMC Denali up for a Replaced or Rebuilt Engine. I was very heart broken to know after waiting approximately 6 months that Haley Chevrolet Midlothian Virginia never ordered the engine they agreed to after the their technician tested and agreed with the testing that I needed a new engine. Both Managers did not want to hear what there own advisor was saying, they asked if I had something in writing and I pulled the invoices up on my email phone and showed them and I was asked how did I get that invoice and I responded that after Ms. Pat was on speaker phone with Ms. Pat, with me present GM Customer Service gave her the authorization to order the new engine for my vehicle. I assume, both Managers saw the dismay on my face and said I was becoming aggressive and asked me to leave the store. I asked before leaving the store how am I becoming aggressive when I am showing your proof of the invoice for a Rebuilt or New Engine? No one would answer me, so I went over and spoke with the Sales Manager Danny and asked if he could contact the GM and apprise them of what was taken place, he asked me to step outside and he would get too me, I complied and he stated that the invoice that was given too me, should not have been given too me by service advisor Ms. Pat. Without getting aggressive as they called it, I remained professional and left the premisses and contacted your office and GM Customer Service I was told by GM they cannot intervene in the situation because each dealership are independently own and they make their rules and guidelines. I will never purchase another GM Product.....They always want to allude that Blackmen are aggressive when asking a question in a tone they cannot except..... read more

Do not buy a car from this group. In 2017, I bought a used F150 from them and literally 40 days later the engine blew a rod and I needed to replace the entire engine. When I went to see if the salesman would lobby for me to at least get the replacement at cost, his manager came up to me and berated me, stating again and again that used cars are as is. While I understand this truth, my ask wasn't to get my money back, it was to get a break in repairing it, but that seemed to fall on deaf if not ignorant ears. Whether or not Haley knew the issue and hid it well enough to dump on me, I'll never know, but for not even wanting to help me out after it happened to completely disrespecting me in my request to get a break on getting it fixed was at the very least grossly unprofessional and at most personally disparaging. Car buying is generally nefarious enough and this did nothing to change that stereotype. read more

Man this cur buying stuff was tough and a real migraine giver!! Went to a few dealerships in alexandria and near DC but honestly why waste the gas and time when we had DAVID AT HALEY CHEVROLET!! A real class act i might add! We came in with a budget in our minds and they worked with us and were so nice to my family that i had no stress dealing with david. I have already referred a few people to go and one has already purchased a vehicle and they were hella happy! You know like the commercial "HALEY HAS IT!!" Very disappointed in how this dealership handles internet sales. First of all they have a couple of very young girls who answer your emails. However is you call and speak with them directly they cannot answer a basic question like is there a factory warranty? Is the car black? Are you a sales associate? Seriously I'm not kidding you! Then to top it all off the salesman who helps you doesn't help the situation when they flat out lie to you. " oh well my manager took that car home for the weekend" give me a break, the car is at another dealership and you will have to have it brought over. Now you don't know my husband but if you did, you'd know he is NEVER happy with his alignment. He will bring it home and mess with his car to change the alignment a centimeter himself after its done at the shop because it's the tiniest bit off. I have routinely received oil changes from this dealership since I purchased my vehicle there. After some time I developed an oil leak after a recent oil change. After my next oil change I was informed the problem was fixed. My car continued to leak oil. As I was attempting to schedule my next oil change I got a second opinion from a mechanic. His findings found that my drain plug was totally missing an o-ring, something I was told was fixed (It wasn't). Furthermore, it was found that my oil filter looked as if it wasn't changed in almost 3 oil changes. I informed this dealership that the maintenance that I paid good money for wasn't preformed with hard evidence and was asked "so you don't want an oil change?" As if I didn't matter. I would suggest if you like to have a receipt with high numbers but don't actually want the work physical done then this is the place for you. If you want good honest work...never go here. read more

Absolutely atrocious follow through from our purchase. I purchased a Yukon XL from this dealership at the beginning of July, it's now almost October and I still have not received my plates. I have had to call every 30 days to get new temp plates and everytime it's a different story from the dealership on the status of the plates. First the paperwork was lost, then they had it but were behind on sending it in, and still nothing. My plates expired Friday and a new temp plate was supposed to be in the mail and STILL NOTHING RECIEVED. So now, I cannot legally drive my car because of this freaking dealership. So I'm paying over 800 bucks a month on a vehicle I can't even drive!!! ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!! read more

These guys are the only dealers I'll deal with. Charlie Brown has been in the business many, many years and is the only honest salesman I've found. The service manager, Chris and service rep, Hunter, are genuine people that actually want to help you rather than rip you off. Sparky, the mechanic, doesn't look for problems to charge you for. His roots are from the rural garage where they personally knew everyone and wanted to make sure their friends weren't involved in an accident due to vehicle failure. Sure, dealership rates are expensive, but the guys on the ground don't set the rates. They also don't inflate them by creating repairs. Likewise, a used car purchase is more expensive than private party purchase, but at Haley you get a full vehicle inspection prior to the vehicle being available for purchase and a 90 day warranty. Try complaining to a private party after 90 days. I don't work for any dealership nor do I have a relative that works for one. I try to save money by doing all my own repairs. When there's something more than my skill set can handle, however, I take the vehicle to Haley Chevy. read more

Sale's Department:? Service Department: 1 I have used the service department twice now to perform the factory schedule maintenance on my brand new Car. We actually bought the car from Heritage Chevrolet, but they are quite a little farther from our house so we chose to use this dealership. Your looking at this thinking a one? On a factory scheduled maintenance? I KNOW. Basically they have to walk around the car, kick the tires and make sure to bring it back. At this point I am doubtful they could accomplish half as much. Today's experience was incredible. I scheduled my 12,000 mile oil change, tire rotation, and a state inspection. Simple... everything was good. The service advisor Michael Cera told me everything was done, handed me my receipt, and I went home. ONLY TO FIND that the state inspection wasn't done. Ugggghhh... The WHOLE REASON I BROuGHT IT IN WAS FOR THE STATE INSPECTION. So I call back, and call back, and call back, and Michaell Cera won't answer the phone, or respond to voice mails. So I call back again and I get another bumbling service person who is all shoulders with no helpful solutions. He say's they should have done the inspection, because it's listed on my appointment for the inspection but they did a multi point vehicle inspection. I ask him how often they do this multi point vehicle inspection... "um, I've never seen it done before"... Sure... sounds good Haley Chevrolet... I'll take more time out of my schedule to bring my care back in for something that should have been done in the first place. read more

I went into Haley Chevrolet in June/July to order a 2021 Tahoe. At that time Corey C introduced himself, told me up front that since the truck was popular, and there was a parts shortage, that it would be several months before I would receive it. Together we 'built' the truck I wanted and an order was placed. Corey C and Bob M, kept me updated throughout the entire process. When they discovered that the time frame for arrival was going to be extended, they put me in a 2022 model. I ultimately had to wait until December 2021 to receive it, however they kept me up to date by text messaging until the actual day it arrived and they reached out to me by phone. At NO POINT in time did I feel intimidated or forced into any kind of actions that I did not want to take. This is only my second time purchasing a new car so i wasn't an expert. Called and spoke with Bob, inventory manager, about a 2021 Tahoe Z71, tells me he has a white one on its way to the dealership early next week but to come on in today to talk numbers. I committed to being there between 4 pm and 4:30 pm. I arrived a few minutes after 4 pm and was greeted by another employee who said they'd go get Bob, he was expecting us. We waited 15 minutes before this same guy came out to tell us Bob was on the phone and the white Tahoe had been sold by someone who came in 5 minutes ago. So unprofessional that Bob didn't come out to speak with us and that he didn't call to tell us the car had been sold. Horrible experience and this dealership has no inventory. After buying two vehicles from Haley Chevrolet, I had a bad experience when looking for a truck and went elsewhere. I continued to have my vehicles serviced there because of the great service department. Earlier this year, my Camaro was in for an oil change that took forever. I was not happy, but continued to stay loyal. This week I scheduled state inspections on my vehicles for next week. Two vehicles, same day, I wanted to drop and swap. After receiving a confirmation text for one but not the other, I called and was told I only had an appointment for one not two. I was told that I had missed the appointment for the other. I requested both on the same day and to split them so that I could drop and swap. They said sorry for the mix up and was no way to make them the same day now. Sorry Haley, you have no customer focus. I initially went in for service on my 2015 Chevy Cruze with less than 50k miles. I had a great experience from Haley Chevrolet in the past and assumed this time would be no different. I dropped the car off and got a call for an update that the problem was covered under my 100,000 mile-powertrain warranty, but I was quickly upsold on $500+ of "regular maintenance". When I questioned why it was so expensive I was told the man didn't have the details in front of him. The more questions I asked, the more I was encouraged to get the work done and how highly recommended the services were for my vehicle. Please be aware that the dealership isn't above upselling to customers who they can tell may not know any better or may not know much about cars. Outside of the warranty work, the total was over $500, with $200 of that being labor to change a couple filters and flush the transmission. I've had too many problems with my Cruze and I just feel like I was truly taken advantage of when the dealership should have been accommodating with how many issues and repairs I've had with my car. read more

Literally the worst experience at a dealership ever. They sold the car right from under us after telling us to leave while waiting for the bank. We did not leave to think about it, we signed a buyers order. Then they say they'll have another one first thing in the morning and they have a totally different vehicle with a payment $150 higher! I have been taking takinf my car there for oil changes and state inspection and evertime im pleased with the service and the staff! But there was one time i went to get the oil changed the guy who performed the service left the O-ring from the oil cap out of place and everytime i drove the car oil started caming out of the engine, but i took it back and they change the oil again and clean the undercarriage (at no charge) and the staff is very friendly read more

Based upon my experience with Haley Chevrolet internet sales they appear to be practitioners of the classic new car sales techniques giving the entire industry a bad name. If you insist on buying a car at Haley Chevrolet I highly recommend doing all your homework: Verify pictures they have on their web site (the car I was interested in had dealer pictures of a much higher end model of the same color with extensive exterior upgrades), be aware of all factory discounts (Haley played a factory/dealer discount shell game with me I could never fully resolve but started with them offering me a 50 cent dealer discount - not kidding), research pricing using tools like TrueCar, research their dealer fees, and know your trade-in value in advance. You can even research how long a car has been on the lot using tools like CarGurus and play the cliché buyer game of walking in at the end of the month or better yet end of year to try to exploit factory 'stair step' bonuses. Even then, all I can say is good luck with your Haley experience. Yes, the above research tips are true of any dealership but having dealt with 3 other Chevy dealers to varying extents in the Richmond area I'm confident there are at least 2 others probably worthy of my business. Salesman became hostile and discriminate towards me - a female. Insulting the research I did on the car prior to stepping a foot into the dealership. Wanted me to believe a used car that has been sitting on the lot for over 180 days, bought at an auction was the price they paid for it and was selling the vehicle for the exact same price! I was born in the morning - just not yesterday morning. Even after contacting the General manager of the dealership - I received a "We will counsel the employee on his behavior". Where was the manager the night the salesman was yelling at me? Save yourself the time and trouble - shop else where. read more
