OK is not "good enough" for Subaru. My expectations for Subaru service is six star from Michael's Subaru in. Bellevue, WA. The staff is smart, "on-it" as soon as you drive in. The team at Hyman was on their cell phones and computers. I didn't know what to do. Robert was pleasant, nice enough and enthusisatically recommended new tires. I'm going to shop around. Instead of complaining about what I saw here are my suggestions: 1) Entire team needs to wear same "team" polo shirts with logo and name tag; the very slow software needs an update - fast!; the snacks need to be presented with welcome instead of dumped in a basket; throw away the August magazines'. the team needs to listen more, talk less; the blonde woman should keep her political views to herself, and cover her cleavage. Clearly this Auto group doesn't care about customer experience - if they did they wouldn't have 1.5 stars. I drove to Midlothian hoping for better attitude than a Broad Street dealership. The service department will lie to you and do a poor job at basic tasks. I went in for a state inspection 2 days ago. The car passed, but Robert came in to let me know that my serpentine belt had "chunks" missing and made it seem like it was imperative that it be replaced now or it would "squeal and break and leave me stranded." For $200, I declined and bought a $30 belt from Napa. I just replaced it at home and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the existing belt. No cracks, no chunks missing. Absolutely disgusted by their dishonesty. The service department has also cross threaded a lug nut on multiple visits. While replacing the wheel stud because of their initial mistake, they cross threaded another lug nut on a different wheel in the same visit. When I called about it happening a second time, the person assured me the shop foreman "did them with a torque stick." read more

Will NEVER come here again. Should have gone out to Colonial Heights like my mechanic recommended. Had a recall on the puddle lights for my Forester. I ended up going there four separate times and ultimately getting the lights disconnected instead of fixed. They offered to "fix the lights properly" but, since this was VISIT NUMBER FOUR, I told them to just take them out. The whole experience was frustrating. Visit 1 was to confirm I needed the recall, 2 was to put in the parts only to discover they didn't have everything they needed, 3 to do it right except they scheduled it on the wrong day and then the lights were back on that evening, and then 4. The only time anyone apologized was when I pushed for it. I don't know if it's a higher up management issue, but the experience was so bad I'll be actively steering (car pun!) people away from them. Subie Guy is so much more reliable, friendly, and treats you like a person. read more

I'm a believer that when people show you who they are believe them. Sadly I really wanted to continue there. Kristen the sales person I bought my car with had already left and honestly I don't know where she went but I'm sure she is much happier as I could tell they didn't appreciate everything I saw in her. While I like the workers for the most part and definitely there tech guy Rocks. Sales Manager Sterling there has been dodgy and unaccommodating . I have taken my Business to the colonial heights Subaru a far better group and well worth the drive to deal with. I have waited and waited and called and called. I have been silent while I wait for a refund of the money I prepaid and still waited for a refund. I was told he'll call you I called back and told them I guess his phone was broken. Left numbers only to have him called the other number and if history repeats it's self so he can avoid me by leaving me a message. Which I said I noticed your not calling the number I gave them for you to call. To which he dances and say humm ahh Humm and change the subject quickly. Then the same dance yet again I'll call You Monday and Thos time I said yes I'll Expect you to call by close of business. . Man the sales peeps especially the sales managers think they are the bomb. They are ignorant and do not care about the customer and their arrogance is not worth the frustration of visiting this place. There are plenty of other Subaru dealers, and dealers that you can purchase said Subaru's from that are not as forth right as these folks are. I would stay clear of Hyman. Is now Infiniti. Took over a week to get me in for faulty transmission. Once in, complete lack of communication on their part. They never called with an update, so after 3 days with my car I called them. Completely rude and acted as if I was putting them off! Another 2 days, no update, so call them again. Same thing, rude and acting like I was inconveniencing them. Service manager said he knew he had problems and was addressing them. Long story short is their communication and service stinks! Also had them appraise car and they came inn$1500 under Carmax. Never deal w them and NEVER buy an Infiniti QX60! read more

Terrible service in service department. Brought in our vehicle due to excessive oil consumption or leak. Got a brief voice mail a day later. Called back several times over the next several days and left several messages but no one would call back to explain what the problem was in detail. I reached out online and got a call from Patrick. Spoke with him a few times about buying a car and thought he was great! He told me they had one in transit that I could put a deposit down on. He took all of my info and then called me back 10 minutes later saying someone else had just put a deposit down so I was out of luck. He said he would call me back when he found out if another one would be in transit/if they could get one from another dealership or if they couldn't get one at all.. almost a week has gone by with no call back. My wife bought her outback at HB had it serviced there for 2 years. Recently it was inspected. After a few miles on the way home the tire pressure light came on. By morning the tire was flat. The dealership refused to assume the puncture by a piece of metal one would see around a repair area had punctured the tire and would not repair it gratis. i took my Subaru to Hyman Collision Center across the street from the dealership. I had good service from the dealership for maintenance and they have good reviews. My car was dented in the rear driver side. They had my car for 8 EIGHT weeks. i received 1 call from them to update me. When I called to check after several weeks, I left a message - nothing - no return calls. I went by to see if it was still there. When I picked it up it was filthy. The rear sensors were beeping to warn of an object nearby when there was nothing there. Mr. Tharpe - the manager made arrangements to calibrate the sensors. They still do not work correctly rendering the sensors completely useless. They worked fine before. I am very dissatisfied in their service. I would not want others to experience this. The body work looks good. it is all about the money rather than service. This was an insurance claim. read more

I did not buy my Subaru from Hyman Bros (unfortunate name, that) but I was required to use the dealer to fix two recalls. One of which was very serious. I made an appointment online, but it didn't go through. Nevertheless, the service agent was accommodating, and even though he said it would take a few days, it was finished the very next day. Horrid service, they lure you in with being nice up front but then stick it to you on the back end. My wife went in to get a noise checked out somewhere in the brakes/rotors. After one of thier techs took the car she was told that the brake pads and rotors were installed improperly from where we got it done, good news to catch it before it ends up being really bad. So the tech wrote down everything on the maintenance sheet, and she took it to the shop where she got the work done originally, and once the ppl from the shop took a look at it they said it was fine, so we contacted Subaru to fig out what was going on and why we were told 2 different things. After being on the phone for about 20 min, Mr Phillips gets on the line ( service director) and proceeds to argue with me about why we went there in the first place and that he can't help us out, when it was thier tech that told us to go back and get it checked out. I am very unsatisfied with the service. We have purchased 2 cars from them over the last 4 years. I am horrified that a Director can talk to thier customers in that way. I will not be taking my car in for service nor will I but another vehicle from them. I hope that Mr Phillips, who very rudely let me know that he's been with the company 28 years and is a director for 4 location, will be a little nicer to his customers and not boast. If he's been in the service for that long surely he would know how to handle situations and how to treat people. They have lost a customer and also future customers that I would have recommended. My battery went out on my Subaru Outback it was still under warranty the service department at this dealer said that the warranty was only good for 18months that was not true. Thr battery was for free.replacement for 30 months they said they would look into it they never returned my call. Dropped car off for warranty work mid December. Total confusion at the service desk from start to finish. Three items to resolve; battery was boiling over, drivers seat had a defect in the material and the emblem on the horn had become broken up. None of the items were addressed other than being told the battery boiling over was normal battery chemistry. The service manager was supposed to call back on the other two items...never did. Called three times was told each time the service manager would call back. It's mid March and guess what...no call. Took the car back to the dealership where it was purchased and all three items were resolved. Cannot recommend this dealership for service. read more

This dealership has owed my family over $700 since Nov 2018. They have horrible communication with thier customers. They are dishonest, unprofessional, failed to return phone calls, staff have even called my family member awful names. BEWARE! Shady old school used car tactics used at this dealership. Sent an email yesterday to confirm they still had an Outback available which was on their website. David Blackwell, their sales person, sent me an email back right away confirming the car I wanted, then immediately called to confirm it was there and he was looking at it out the window right then. Then asked when did I want to come it to look at it? I said it would take me an hour to drive there from downtown. When I arrived and hour later, I was told that car was actually sold the day before. BUT, they would be happy to show me other higher priced Outbacks they had. They knew it was not available from the start and lied to get me on their lot so they could try to sell me a different car. Very disappointed in their shady, old school tactics of selling cars that is dishonest and a tactic that comes from the top. We went in looking for an impreza, not in any kind of rush, just looking for something new. We were working with Jennifer, who was extremely nice. However, after she walked away to see if they had the car we were looking for, she had Ron, the manager come over to speak with us. From the get go, Ron was extremely rude and condescending. He acted like he knew exactly what we're thinking and that we knew absolutely nothing about how to buy a car. He even said it wasn't even worth searching for the car we wanted because he just knew he wouldn't find it. Definitely find a different Subaru dealership with a better manager. read more

I own a 2014 outback that was purchased thru Pence. I have taken my car to Hyman for oil changes and warranty issues. This is what has happened on each visit. 1st visit they ran my car, which is covered in bike racks, thru an automatic car wash, that I didn't ask for, that ended up ripping my racks off and beating the top my car up. They did repair and paid for racks. Next visit I went to have an oil consumption test done b/c the new Subaru is burning oil. Did the test, a week later oil light comes on. Take car back to have oil topped off and the tech didn't put the cap on. Drove 18 miles before noticing a burning smell, which was the oil all over the engine compartment. Next visit, still dealing with oil/warranty issues, drop off for more diagnostics. Told rep that I would not be able to p/u until after service dept. closed. No problem I was told, the keys will be @ the sales managers desk. My wife drops me off, took a bit for anyone to acknowledge me and when I did get some help they didn't know where my keys were b/c the service rep never gave them to the sales desk and they were locked up in the service area, which none of the sales people had a key to.
