I went to this pet store to buy a gift for a friend. The girl at the register could not be bothered with answering any of my questions regarding the sizes of the dog clothing. She was too busy on her phone. After I bought the gift- She was annoyed that I asked for tissue paper and basically threw it at me Instead of wrapping it and putting it in the bag. Both this and the other nearby location have very friendly staff! The other location was out of stock of the product i needed, but let me know that this one had it available. We love Hala and her store! They have adorable toys, clothes, leashes etc for your dog. They also have great treats and food. Our 11 year old choodle had very elevated liver enzymes. I went to Halas and asked for her advice and they recommended Fresh food which comes frozen and is actually human grade food. It's a little stinky so I don't think that I will be trying it anytime soon. They have all different flavors and even gave us samples to try. Cutest little pet boutique I've ever been in!! I had bought a Groupon for this store -- I paid $15 and it was for $30 worth of merchandise. I wondered on in here today around 10 when the store opened to browse around and see what they have for cat supplies for my little fur baby. This store is definitely geared towards dog owners, but they do have a small selection of cat toys, catnip, treats, food, collars and accessories for us cat owners. The owner, Hala, was there when I went in and she was the nicest lady ever! Very friendly and personable. She even recommended some cat food for my cat that he may like since he's a picky eater (she even gave me a free sample to give to him to try before I purchase). I ended up leaving with a filtered water dish, some cat treats and a toy. I did have to pay another $14 or so on top of what I already paid for the Groupon, but I'm all about supporting small and local businesses so I didn't mind. Plus, there's a Yelp deal going on right now for Hala's Paws -- you pay $50 for $75 worth of merchandise. Hala will be very tickled that you buy these promotions -- when I showed her my Groupon, she giggled and said "You actually bought my Groupon!" and she seemed genuinely excited about it! All in all, great place. If you have pets and live in South County, give this place a shot! So worth it. read more

I love Hala's Paws! For a small boutique, this shop has the best selection of reasonably priced quality pet supplies. I am willing to drive from Newport Beach for Hala's huge selection of healthy, grain-free, all natural dog foods, especially the good stuff in the freezer! My dog already loves the top tier brands they carry like Stella and Chewy's, Orijin and Acana, but she recently tried the Small Batch frozen patties and is totally obsessed! I really dig the large selection of cute looking tough toys. Having a German Shepherd, it can be hard to find toys that last, but Hala's has a bunch to choose from. I like that she carries a lot of hand-made items too. I like knowing that my purchases support small businesses and artisans. Overall what I love about Hala's Paws is that it's a small business that provides the kind of friendly service and unique products that you can't find at a big chain. She has homemade bows and bow ties for the dogs and treats and a great variety of toys and collars and leashes that you won't find any where else that I have bought and my Sadie has received many compliments when out. Everything and more has been said in my prior review and other's that Hala has received on YELP but if you need another one so that you will shop here, she is active in the rescue community. An 8 week old puppy with a broken leg was brought to my attention by a friend that works at a local vet (the dog was brought in to be euthanized as the owners didn't want to deal with it) and I shared the call to action with Hala to help save this pup and she did so by sharing with her contacts in the four and two legged world. The puppy was rescued by a vet however I was so impressed with Hala's willingness to help out that I want to give her an update on YELP. Many healthy treat options i.e. organic and Made In USA... quality food - wet, dry or fresh... great items like toys, clothes, collars, etc (the collapsable travel bowl we got is used all the time and works perfect). On the occasions we've had to return something (picky eaters or it didn't sit well with them), it can be exchanged with zero issues. And.. Hala, the owner, is top notch, friendly and knowledgable - overall, very glad to have a locally owned store in our area. Prices are always reasonable as well.
