They did an amazing job with Mochi, and she was so happy and relaxed afterward! While I was there, I noticed several other dogs being groomed; they all looked very content and well-cared for. Honestly im pretty disappointed. This was my first AND LAST time i come here for grooming. I had dropped off my two doodles (2 yo) and (7yo) for the first time and leaving with my older dog having a huge hole in her arm due to a "accidents happen." The first red flag from this place was that they did not ask for any rabies vaccinations or DHPP. The second red flag was that even though it was my first time and LAST TIME. The woman that cut my older pups leg tried to sugar coat that "accidents happen." Which is absolutely false and disgusting to say. My 7 year old doodle has 7 years of experience getting groomed and I have never had even nearly an injury this bad. It was malpractice and to be honestly the groomer woman that didnt take accountability and stating my dog moved and ALSO DIDNT MAKE A NOISE is what pissed me off most. Not to mention they still made me pay full price even with my dog leaving. She had also stated "if u need to go to the vet let us know and bring the bill." Excuse me? The grooming itself is fine, but the communication is terrible. I made an appointment for a Sunday at 2 p.m. for my dog, who needs to take medication prior to being groomed. One hour before the appointment, they texted to cancel due to an emergency. While I was disappointed (especially since I had already given my dog his medication), I was understanding. They asked me to reschedule, which I did for the following weekend. When we arrived for the rescheduled appointment, my husband was told in person that they no longer have a groomer who can work with my dog, and we were turned away. No one called or texted ahead of time to cancel or explain this change. I understand my dog can be a bit difficult, but they have always worked with him, and he had a regular groomer there who he already knew. The groomer who usually works with him still works there, so I'm unsure why we were told they no longer have a groomer for him. The last time he was there they said he did better than usual which made this all even more confusing because we don't understand what happened. I wish they would have communicated this beforehand. Instead, my dog was given medication twice unnecessarily, and our time was wasted. The lack of communication was very unprofessional. We are very disappointed with how this was handled. read more

Our 15 year old dog left this place with at least 4 different cuts on him, bleeding, and the ugliest and shortest cut he's ever had, and their groomers excuse was that he was matted. My wife and I spent 5 hours getting the knots out of him and knew the only knots he had left were in his tail. His hair was longer than usual, but the inexperienced groomer bathed him and probably left his hair to dry without combing him out and created the knotted mess and then had to shave him down to the skin. He had razor burns and had to wear a sweater for a month. To top it off, the nails were barely trimmed and his ears were smelly and unclean even though we paid for these services. When we talked to the owner, they made excuses, and tried to blame our 15 year old dog for being fussy. Um, your groomer cut him so many times no wonder he didn't trust you people. They did suggest we bring the dog back the next day to address the nails and ears which we did. But the attitude of the owner although seems nice and friendly and helpful, all that stops when it comes to making things right financially even though we had to take the time to bring our dog back to get what we paid for. No offer of a discount, or a refund, and we didn't care to ask because we knew we'd never go back there again. read more

STAY AWAY FROM GROOMER - OLENA! This review is mainly for the grooming service, specifically regarding the groomer - Olena. I brought my tripod rescue dog in for a full groom on Sunday, 7/20/2025. The grooming service took approximately four hours, which was fine with me because I had specifically told the groomer to take her time with my furry baby when I dropped him off. First of all, I requested a teddy bear-style haircut for his face. Unfortunately, his face turned out nothing like a teddy bear, which did not meet my expectations. Secondly, and most importantly, the groomer injured my dog and blamed the injury to my previous groomer. While I acknowledge that my previous groomer was not very good, but the injury sustained during this grooming session was clearly a fresh wound, as shown in the pictures. The front desk called me before I picked up my dog and said it looked like he had been nicked by the previous groomer, and that the wound appeared to have healed pretty well. I asked what she meant by "nicked," and she explained on the phone that it "looked like it was caused by razor burn." I was a bit confused after hearing all these to be honest. Also, they clearly knew the wound was caused by razor burnt. First of all, the last grooming--performed by the previous groomer--was in May 2025. If the injury had occurred during that session, it would have healed long time ago by now. Secondly, we took our dog to the vet for his annual physical in June 2025 (as shown on the vaccination records provided to Pet Evolution before the grooming session), and the vet never mentioned any wounds or cuts on his leg. Additionally, we did not notice any injury on his leg prior to dropping him off on Sunday morning. Lastly, after a detailed inspection when we got home (about 20 minutes after picking him up), the injury on our dog's leg was clearly a very fresh wound (please see pictures). Therefore, we are certain that the injury was caused by the groomer at Pet Evolution. While we understand that accidents can happen, we were extremely upset by the lack of honesty from the groomer. I was also in severe distress after inspecting the wound, especially because I had decided to try this place out, and it ended up causing harm to my rescued furry family member. Owner called me few days after my post, and the very first thing he did was questioning my pictures and denying anything happened. The call was not friendly, and basically he was calling me a liar. He did agree my dog's haircut was not a teddy bear hair style. That's it! No apologies, no remorse, and no empathy! read more

A fancy new pet store has opened next to the Trader Joe's in Aliso Viejo. We stopped in to check it out. They were giving out treats to interested parties walking by. Pet Evolution offers pet grooming and pet washes. The bathing area looks state-of-the-art. They also sell natural pet food, raw food, treats, toys, etc. It's a great spot for pet owners who care about their pets. The first time I was helped by Sofia and she took the time to show me around the shop and show me everything they offer. The second time I went in specifically looking for healthy food options for my dogs, and this time I was helped by Sophie who was so sweet and knowledgeable and showed me all of the healthy food and treat options. We discovered that Pet Evolution recently opened in our community next to Trader Joe's, so we stopped by to pick up a few pet supplies. The store is absolutely beautiful. It is so clean that one could eat off of the floor. It is also meticulously organized. The store is very well lit and it is also very well stocked. We had plenty of options to choose from. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We received a warm greeting upon entering the store by a salesclerk. A short time later, one of the owners approached us and introduced himself. We were able to ask him some questions and he was very polite and helpful. In addition to having a countless number of pet supplies, Pet Evolution offers all types of grooming services. I love the fact that there are huge windows for pet owners to watch their pets being groomed. Pet Evolution also offers self-washing tubs and supplies for owners to groom their own pets. I don't recall ever seeing this option available anywhere. This option seems very popular. The checkout process went smoothly. The cashier asked whether we were interested in providing some personal contact information to the store, but he was very clear that doing so is optional. He was nice, but efficient so we were in and out of the store in no time. We will definitely be returning to Pet Evolution soon to pick up our regular supplies and to try the "self-serve" grooming service or to have one of its trained groomers give our dog a bath and cut. read more

This is a terrific addition to Aliso Viejo. We've been in several times and met both the owners Rick and Martin and they are genuinely good people. They've always been so nice to my Saint Bernard puppy Orville, as has all the staff. We haven't yet been for a bath/grooming but the store and facility itself is incredibly well and meticulously maintained. They carry everything I look for in terms of healthy, single ingredient treats, as well as the Nutrisource food that we feed Mr. Orville. We've recently discovered their Haddock and Cod skin/sticks which have been a huge hit for my dog when we go to restaurant patios. If you aren't familiar with the area, it's located in the Aliso Viejo Town Center which has quite a few restaurants and is really up and coming so you have a lot to do if you want to drop you dog off and get food or go shopping. After meeting her, and seeing how she interacted with my older dog, I decided to have her do a full groom, a couple days later. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before taking my 5 pound maltipoo in for a nail trim. For a business that heavily advertises their nail trim service I expected professionals to know what they are doing. Instead, they cut the quick on her nail where she bled and I did not know that she had bled because they did not communicate that to me. I dropped my penny off to my little sister to run errands. When I got back, I noticed Penny was licking at her paw and saw the blood. I understand accidents happen, but at minimum I expect to receive communication that my dog was injured so I can either monitor my dog myself or at least let her other caretakers know to monitor. My other dog I could see when I picked her up that what I had asked for was not done, so then I had to wait while they fixed it. Our dog was severely injured during a nail trim with pet evolution. The groomer (Sophia I believe) cut the quick on one of her nails. Then kept going with the cut as my dog was profusely bleeding without contacting us at all. Then cut the quick on another one of her nails. After 40-50 minutes of letting our dog bleed out and experience what was probably a painful, excruciating, and terrifying experience, we get a call that the trim is done. When we go to pick up our dog she is bleeding so much all over and can't walk. And apparently has been bleeding for almost an hour! The groomer is so nonchalant about it all. We had to rush our dog to the vet for an emergency visit. And through all this we didn't receive any contact from management or the owners until I called the store and requested a call back because we heard that the vet had had multiple emergency visits due to injuries from this grooming salon. Most of them worse and more critical. We wanted to drop this because it was so traumatizing but I was curious and checked the yelp only to see that other dogs have been getting injured here. I just want to do my part to prevent other dogs from getting hurt or worse. There are so many other grooming salons in the area. Please don't take your pet here. read more
