I was at the dog park recently complaining about how expensive Leo's baths have become. I've always bathed my own dogs, but with his husky coat never fully drying, it's been impossible. Several dog owners recommended this place @Dog Tub in Laguna Beach, I'm so glad they did! The first thing I noticed was the setup: a step-up tub with a door that opens, which means no lifting a 95-lb dog. Huge win. There are only three tubs, so it's never overwhelmingly busy, and everything is clean and well organized. They offer a wide selection of shampoos, including some really high-quality options. I was told huskies love the mink oil shampoo, and they were absolutely right, Leo smelled amazing and his coat looked great. They also start you off with brushes and tools, including a super effective undercoat remover that worked wonders on Leo. The towel system, a microfiber shammy you slip your hands, genuinely absorbs water instead of just smearing it around. And the high-end dryer actually reached all the layers of Leo's thick coat. For the first time ever, he dried completely! From the moment you walk in, the owner, Angela, greets you with a big smile. The staff is warm, helpful, and clearly loves animals. They have everything you need, including specialty foods and products Angela personally recommends. They even walk around handing out treats, so your dog is happy the entire time. We have been patrons of the Dog Tub for over 2 years and have two small chihuahua mix rescues, short-haired (no belly fur), weighing 15 and 7 pounds, respectively. Since going to the Dog Tub, we have brought our own dog shampoo and cream rinse and bathe the dogs in a single tub. On 5/3/26, when we went to check out, a young woman/girl at the register charged us $20.00 instead of $15.00 per dog.. We asked if there was a fee increase several times, but she didn't respond. She finally said the $5.00 additional fee for each dog was because they were both in a single tub?? Then said it was because there was a lot of hair left in the tub. We always rinse down the tub when we are done and happened to look at the drain before removing our dogs and there may have been a 'light' 3-inch single layer of hair in the drain - an easy swipe to clean. Neither of her explanations made sense to us since it is assumed that the adjustment of fees per size of dog takes into account the added clean up. We did not observe the young woman at any time to examine the tub while we were there and felt she was randomly charging us an added $10.00 for no apparent reason other than what was communicated to justify the extra fee. It left us feeling bad about your business practice since it was unclear why your business would charge customers $10.00 more than expected without a clear and reasonable explanation. The young woman never assisted us at any time and never offered any assistance while we were there; she only overcharged us. Be aware and be certain to ask about what you will be charged since to us there was no plausible explanation for the upcharge. read more

It's not just a shop to her. The tubs are always spotless, the shampoos are high quality, and the dryers are strong enough to actually get your dog fully dry without it taking forever. First, you never know what someone is going through or what kind of day someone is having. The guys working here today are the kindest, most Knowledgeable and professional guys I have encountered. I would hire them in a heartbeat. My golden had a ton of anxiety going in and they made us feel so welcome and helped me. I had a lot of anxiety too. You see, my husband passed away ten months ago and he always did this with me. Actually, he would do most of it and I would take pictures and entertain our dogs. Today, I went by myself because I tried a mobile groomer and it just wasn't for us. I'm so happy it all worked out. I was beyond impressed with Angela the owner when I finally met her for the first time. I've had a rescue for over 30 years dealing with senior and abused dogs and she knew more than probably anyone else out of all the vets and holistic healers I had ever dealt with. She only carries the absolute most top of the line foods and knew more about other foods I thought were great than anyone had ever given me information about. The supposedly great foods were not as great as I thought they were. This one 15 + year old rescue dog of mine who was very abused, had become very weak and was not eating well. In less than a week, he has turned into a puppy. I already had him on what I thought were great supplements and foods and didn't think there was much hope left for him with extremely weak back legs and an extremely sensitive stomach where he would often go a day or two barely eating. Angela recommended the Jump for joints and the My perfect pet frozen turkey in addition to the small batch freeze dried turkey bites. I have to drag him in I've tried everything even parking blocks away and just casually walking by as soon as he sees that door he sprints. He really needed a bath after all the rain and thankfully I went by at the perfect time no one was in there had to literally drag him out of the car and get him in there and the young guy David helped Me so much getting him into the tub with the steps lock in the door 2 chokers on him and pound puppy just resigned himself to the fact he's getting in the bath. Wonderful place. I have three bathrooms and tried tub also shower with him everything! Disastrous. If I didn't have Dog tub I wouldn't know what to do and just live with the stinky house. They have all sorts of fantastic shampoos once we got him in the tub I just said just throw me the freshest smelling shampoo you have and I used the whole bottle on him. He's always wonderful when he gets out but just getting him in their boy that's a challenge. Very knowledgeable about nutrition. I took my 6month old puppy in to give her a bath to this place for the first time and the owner never bothered to show me the protocol on how to use the equipment! She was busy chatting with her frequent customer and completely ignored me and my pup! When I was ready to check out, she left us standing to rend to a customer standing by the front door to pick something up for 10 minutes.
