Hey! Just making this post to inform the public of my personal experience. My dog, Roxy has been coming to this facility frequently. I go here because they have reasonable prices for grooming. However, I can no longer ignore a sanitation issue: every time without a doubt, she's come home with live fleas. She is an indoor dog and isn't exposed to any other animals, meaning she is contracting them inside this facility. This is a major health hazard for my dog and a violation of a clean grooming environment. Bringing fleas into my home means now I have to deal with the stress, time, and expense of deep cleaning my house and treating my living space to prevent an infestation. I spoke to a Grooming Salon Manager and they said this has never been an issue before, but a quick scroll through yelp reviews prove different. I was told they take measures cleaning the kennels and tables after each animal. While I appreciate that I was offered a callback from the Store Leader and a free flea bath, a reactionary treatment doesn't fix the underlying issue. If they were truly sanitizing the kennels and tables between dogs, this wouldn't be happening every time. Advice for other pet parents: Check your dogs thoroughly before you leave the facility. I was told "issues can usually only be recognized if communicated within 48 hours" I hope management takes this seriously and does a deep, systematic review of their sanitation practices. read more

I stopped by PetSmart mainly to check out the fish section and to see if they had any cats available for adoption--and they did! That was a great surprise. The store has a solid selection of pets and supplies, including fish, reptiles, hamsters, birds, and more. Everything was well organized and easy to browse. What really stood out was the customer service. I was greeted right when I walked in, and every employee who passed me asked if I needed help with anything. It felt welcoming without being overbearing, which I really appreciated. Overall, a very positive experience. Clean store, good variety, and excellent staff. I am so grateful that the this Petsmart is close to my house and also lots of hours and availability (the Grooming is open before Petsmart normal business). Price is very reasonable too. read more

Beware of ordering your pet food from this store. If you have it shipped or delivered, they have no concern whatsoever what condition it arrives in. We've often had dented cans and missing labels with canned food having no padding at all. Today was worst of all. We pay hard earned money for pet food. THIS IS HOW IT WAS DELIVERED! We didn't have the best experience with Emma in the grooming department. We went there on a referral basis and was told to specifically request Emma for our scheduled appointment. When we arrived it felt more of a transaction than a relationship. When she saw our purebred puppy she had questioned if it was a poodle mix, which he is not. She said that she will have to charge us an extra $10 for dematting. However, when we picked up our puppy he was shaven clean all over. There was no prior notice of this and if this was the case, why preemptively charge us the extra $10 dematting fee when there was no extra dematting to be done if you buzzed all over. When we got back home after the groomer we saw 6 fleas on him, which he didn't have prior to the visit. One redeeming factor is that the supervisor/manager offered him a complimentary flea bath the next day since we picked him up at close. The supervisor/manager was great. Despite our poor experiences, we still thought it would be best to tip Emma, so we did. However she wasn't extremely grateful to get a tip and did not show any appreciation. Again it felt like a transaction after we had asked how we could tip. All she said was you can Venmo me or pay me in cash. Despite having a strong recommendation for Emma, we will not be returning based on our interactions with her. read more

Online order pickup at THIS location is ridiculous. They moved the pickup flag to a position that puts you out of view to the cashiers which means you either wait for 5+ minutes to even be acknowledged, or you interrupt a cashier that is ringing up an in-store customer's purchase (making them and any other customers in line have to wait longer). read more

Been to this PetSmart a few times to get my doggie nephew some goodies. I have been able to find some really cute dog clothes and toys here! I would go when there's a sale- like on Black Friday the deals were worth it. Otherwise some things can be overpriced. Staff have always been friendly! read more

I sent my boy in for quick was today. Well needless to say they charged me but didn't bathe him. He still smelled. I even made a tiny mark on him wheee it washes off when shampooed but was still there. I got home and bathed him myself and a bunch of dirt was in the water. So I know you guys charge people and do not bathe them. I usually have a mobile groomer but been expensive but I guess I'll stick to that at least I know he gets a bath. I want my money back. And the groomer just seemed like a miserable human being. it was Dani. She's the one I paid for quick wash and even gave tip too but didn't bathe him. She seemed like she's a miserable human being. I was scared to leave my dog with her. I stayed in store whole time. There should be viewing areas where you can watch and make sure they are doing what you pay for like bathing them. read more

As you are aware Petco has slightly lower prices on name-brand pet food compared to PetSmart, and the savings add up even more with their repeat delivery option, something PetSmart doesn't offer. But when it comes to pet accessories and bigger items, PetSmart seems to have the better deals. PetSmart has everything, pet food, supplies, accessories, and even small pets. They also offer grooming, dog daycare, boarding for dogs and cats, vet services through in-store clinics, and dog training. Plus, they have adoption centers run by PetSmart Charities, which is a nice touch. This store itself is clean and well-organized. My favorite parts? The pet hotel and daycare, they're awesome. Some of the fish tanks were empty, but the ones that weren't had a beautiful selection of fish. read more

Petsmart of AV scammed us by sending our dog to the vet while in their pet hotel. We did not approve it and they tried to bill us $700. We sent our 17 yr old son to pick our dog up early and they forced medicines on him for $200. Our son was smart enough to speak w a manager and gave them back because he is not an adult nor the owner. Our dog was not sick. She was completely fine. Do not trust them w your pets. read more

The groomers at Pets Mart are wonderful. Emma is caring and she does an amazing job with our "wigglers"! Emma is detailed, focused, kind, loving and patient. Our PetSmart store training classes with Dylan (sp?) who is fun and so knowledgeable. Alll the help we receive from Staff when we have questions about products are helpful and friendly. Re:grooming. Never had a problem. Our usual groomer Kayla was not in that day. Used Dani. When I picked up my dog and got her home she sat with me. She was still dirty and there was filmy dander on her skin. She didn't smell clean. She turned over on her back and never had a sanitary clean or trim. I took her back the next morning for the sanitary trim. Barely trimmed. Dani told me her left ear was gunky. 2 days later her right ear was full of funk. I expect she was lightly sprayed. Never washed and never trimmed. I wrote to corporate and waiting to hear back. I want a refund or a do over but will not be using Dani. If the manager reads this, please respond to me. You need to know what's going on. Just look at all the poor grooming reviews. read more

Our five year old beagle-mix needed a nail trim. For the last several years we went to our vet. The job was done behind close doors (okay with us as we trusted them) and was done quickly. However, They would barely trim the nails and the end of the nails were alwasy rough... and it was expensive. Then we decided to try Petsmart in Aliso Viejo. The people in the Petsmart grooming department were great. Very caring and gentle with our dog. It's not like our dog to tolerate anyone holding her and trying to trim her nails. Two attendants (Matt? & Kenzie) were very loving to our dog and the nails were trimmed and grinded to just short enough with smooth ends. We couldn't be happier. And the price was very reasonable. I took my dog to be groomed at the Aliso Viejo, California PetSmart. I received a call that there was an accident and my dog got a small nic and they transferred him to the Banfield hospital at that location. When I went to see him, there was a huge open gash on his leg and they had to glue it together to close up the gash. My dog was traumatised, shaking, wouldn't eat, started getting an infection in one of his eyes and in tremendous pain. They took no accountability, refused to fire the Groomer and did nothing to rectify the issue. Horrible groomers, please do not take your animal there. read more

Really offended as someone who is in the pet industry and who has often advocated for petsmart as a business. I have been professionally training dogs for 15 years and loved this store as part of my own personal training process until today. Let me start by saying I am a former petsmart trainer. I worked for the company at the leading training store in California for years along side the area trainer who wrote the program curriculum and mentored many petsmart trainers along side her. I left the company as I had aspirations to train with methods I find more advanced than what petsmart would allow but I always felt and let others know that petsmart, has a great foundational training program and with the right trainer in store you can get a lot out of it. I had gone into petsmart after work to get more dog food and work with my personal dog who at the time of rescuing needed severe confidence building in environments with other dogs. Upon entering we were greeted and I went to the isle to check if the price of food was on sale for a treats member price. I stopped to do some drills to recenter my dog who had become a little nervous. I was promptly approached by a woman who told me I needed to "change my shirt" or cover up. I had just gotten off work for the training company I am currently employed by (which is located in Oceanside, no where near Aliso viejo) She gave me the reason that it was advertising a competitor. The emblem on my lapel with the company logo was no bigger than a coaster you'd use at Webb's. She took it upon herself to escort me out as I worked me and my dogs way towards the door. I felt totally violated. I was polite and went and put a jacket over so I could continue to help my dog but I felt completely unwelcome after that as a costumer. I am in store at least once a week to get the refrigerated fresh pet dog food, help my dog over come her confidence issues and let her pick out a toy. People do see me train my dog and ask about training. And I do let them know to check in with Dillion, the trainer who is sweet, always greets and always fun to talk about behavior and breeds with. However as being part of the pet industry, I would hope that petsmart leadership would encourage and represent the inclusion and importance of relationships among others in the industry. Ultimately this mindset that you don't allow someone to buy something after they got off work just because they are ALSO in the pet care industry, after a very long day is a huge disappointment. I ended up working my dog helping her Cuse that's who I was truly there for, and went to petco for her food. Who mind you, didn't feel the need to point out the tiny words on my lapel and welcomed me with open arms. Please from one pet care worker to another, do better. read more

Worst customer service ever! At 7 pm Friday night only one girl dark long hair at the register just sitting there. I walked in asked her if they had dog coats, my zipper broke on mine, had it with me for sizing, there was literally nobody in check outs! She looked at me and said they are not in one area, so I don't know! I said never mind I will find someone else who might be able to help. Looking up and down aisles, nothing. And no other workers in the store. I helped An old gentleman put his 50 lb bag of dog food in his cart while I was searching. I finally gave up and as I approached the from to other employees talking to each other, I said said excuse me do you have dog coats like this one my zipper broke? The older grey haired lady said sorry no it's summer time we don't have them. The dark haired cashier decides to speak up and says I was going to help you! Pretty sure that was her manager! I just feel like clients, who have questions or need helped should be helped, not just pet businesses all of them. You should never have to be treated as such to go look for yourself maybe we have it maybe we don't attitude! What is wrong with these people????? Such a waste of my time! That girl has no respect and needs to either go back to training if they even have formal training or be fired,the name of the game is making money in business, and is done through customer service!!!' Honestly pains be to finally write this, but its been building for several months. I used to love these guys....and it used to be about the pets, not greed. Corporate greed has finally trickled all the way down to the store/salon/hotel level. Unfortunate, since for the past 11 years (and tens of thousands of dollars spent), there has been enough of a separation that regardless of profit initiatives, the pets and their parents--as far as I know--have not been on the losing end so much as it is now. Services/perqs declining rapidly, while costs going up. I've heard from an internal source that it is an attempt by corporate to 'bolster the profit margins' ahead of some corporate stock move. --Reduced staff leading to longer wait times everywhere. --They have cut out the benefit of having a hotel employee onsite overnight to look out for the pets that are boarded, leaving pets unattended. --Charges added in for the 'parties' in day camp for perqs that used to be complimentary; petty, couple dollars here and there, paying for items that were ostensibly donated to them as manufacturer samples. --Feeding used to be complimentary...last year, it went from $1, to $2, not $3. --No more quick, reasonable "exit bath" available, pushing instead over to the higher priced grooming salon --And the list goes on. Here's where it gets worse....I recently spoke up about yet another baseless fee increase, hoping for an explanation, a justification. And I was almost immediately retaliated against by the management. I have two French bulldogs, one is a senior, and has had some mobility limitation--which they have always accommodated just fine. He (Larry) was in need of a quick bath, so I tried to schedule them both while they were under the care of the pet hotel. Protocol has always been for the salon to fit them in when they can, to come over to the hotel side, take them to the salon, bathe them, and return them to the hotel where I would pick them up. The pricing in question was the baths.....they just had baths a week before with the top dog upscale package, just needed an express bath that day. The clerk told me that if they get the express bath, the price just went up $15, but if they get the 3-4 hour window, it remains the same. I chose the 3-4 hour window. A few hours later I was called my the manager. He told me -- pretty 'coincidentally'--that since my oldest had his legs fold under him (happens a lot, they know that), the groomer stopped and declined the bath. Furthermore, he goes on to say that my dog 'was no longer a fit for their services' and that he could not come back to day care. ???? This place has been their second home for 11 years. The weak back legs thing has been a well known issue for months, not to mention signed off by their vet. They used that to vanquish him to day care instead of day camp and upcharge me again a few months ago. No mention of it since. But speak out against the establishment and what happens? He is probably less profitable that he used to be and they're weeding those out so as to not increase staffing expense. I advised the manager that I would discuss to corporate, to which he replied "fine, corporate will just send back to me and I do what I want". There is more, just overall disgusted. read more

Anytime call on hold 15-30 min or like today at 2:00 phone system states vet closed. Wrote RX incorrect 60 vs 100 mg! Employee w/ ring in nose beyond rude and disrespectful. I have been taking my dog, Buddy, to Pet Smart locations for grooming services for several years. I always appreciate the quality for the price given on services, but not at the Aliso Viejo location. It was Buddy's first time at the location and the staff were very friendly, but it is hard to look past the quality of a service given. I asked for the regular teddy bear cut for him, just going one inch shorter on his body due to the summer. I didn't notice fully the dissatisfying quality of work until we got in the car. His head wasn't symmetrical, pointed at the top, and his body and feet weren't evenly trimmed with random long hairs . He looked sick... if you see the pictures attached of him after vs what he looks like after a normal grooming service you will see where I'm coming from. **UPDATE - The Assistant Manager of the Aliso Viejo location reached out to me regarding Buddy's experience. She was explained they do have new associates at that location and it is a teaching and training moment. I was issued a refund and I appreciate the follow up from them. It is understandable they have new associates that are working. If you choose to take your pet here, ask if they are experienced with what you're asking for as that will be my initial question for now on. The staff seemed inexperienced, and I encountered issues with billing and communication many times. I brought my 15 pounds Maltipoo in, and the staff member, Emma, disputed the breed and changed my profile to 'Cockapoodle' without my consent. The price remained the same, but the mistake was frustrating and confusing. It seems like they just wanted to charge me more but they couldn't find a way to do it. She asked me if I wanted to save some money today. I asked how and she said here buy this it's full of coupons. I declined. Took my dog here for grooming explained to Ema exactly how we wanted her and $150 later my dog is completely bare which isn't what we asked for. She then lied and said my partner told her to cut as low he didn't care which was a complete lie. I ordered food for my foster cat online and opted to have it delivered. If I had known that they use Door Dash as their delivery service, I would have picked it up myself, as I have only had lousy service from that company. I got notification that Elwood had delivered my order, and when I saw the photo, you can imagine my surprise when it showed a bag from Mendocino Farms, rather than cat food. I called Door Dash immediately, and they said that they would send someone to retrieve the sandwich. They never did, so I ended up throwing it out. I still have no cat food. I call again, this time I'm put on hold for 25 minutes. I hung up and called again, and I was told that they reported the error to PetSmart and that I would get a refund in 5-7 working days. My cat is now very annoyed about having no food. This morning I went to the PetSmart from which I had placed my order, and the very nice manager, Dani, explained that they have nothing to do with the delivery, and if the error was Door Dash's, they would have to provide the refund. She was kind enough to buy the cat food for me, for which Sandy and I are most grateful. I still don't know where Elwood took my cat food, and I hope that Marie M didn't eat it for her lunch. I had a really bad experience with one of the women workers today in the grooming salon. In the past, my experiences have been great and respectful with other employees. I have never seen this woman before. She was rude from the moment I called to the moment I picked up my fur baby. Her tone of voice was condescending, she was short with my questions about additional fees, and was overall rude. I get if you're having a bad day or hate your job but don't put it on me. I honestly don't know if I'll be back. I really have to consider that. I just don't want to be treated crappy. read more

We have been going here for years. On April 6, 2022 my dog Romi was butchered by the grooming department. They cut her in a sensitive part of her body which has caused a downward spiral in her health since then. This past Sunday May 1, 2022 she was hospitalized, nearly died and is still not out of the woods yet. My family and I have been heartbroken seeing her suffer, and to add additional insult to injury we have incurred nearly $4000 in vet bills to keep he alive so far. She was completely healthy prior to her grooming appointment on April 6, 2022! This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! After playing for several hours at day camp I asked that my standard poodle be bathed and brushed in the petsmart grooming salon. I was given a price of $45 and I agreed. When I picked up her up i was sorely disappointed. Her body hair and ear hair was still wet, matted and stringy. Her tail had not been brushed at all and her body was also matted and definitely not brushed out as requested. I said nothing about how she looked but was disheartened to say the least. For the price, I would not use this salon ever again. I can't imagine the people who work on the dogs are even trained properly. read more
