Matt is an amazing trainer! Are Stella is a different dog within just 3 short weeks. He is so sweet with her and has taught us so much. He even goes out of his way to check on her even when it's not a training day. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking. His prices are extremely competitive and worth every penny.

Highly recommend!!! I finally got the puppy I always wanted.... But I didn't realize how much I didn't know about puppy training. I was lucky enough to find Matt at Black Collar Dog Training. I had done my research of dog trainers in Orange County and many training facilities didn't seem the right match for me and my new pup. When Matt came to my home for our consultation, I saw first hand how he interacted with my pup and best of all how my pup responded to him. I knew then it was the perfect match and made the instant decision to sign up. I have seen my pup become less reactive, more confident and more focused on me and we are loving it! Matt's flexibility with my schedule has been a great plus. If you are looking for help training your doggie, look no further.... Black Dog Collar is the the right choice!

Pay ZERO attention to that review. As a psychologist, I pay very close attention to behavior, regulation, communication, and emotional energy, and at no point did I witness cruelty, aggression, intimidation, or abusive behavior toward me or my dog. What honestly amazed me most was that he never said one word to my dog. There was no yelling, chaos, or "training performance." It was all action, energy, body language, timing, and an understanding of canine psychology that I have never personally seen before. Before we started working together, Daisy was going after every dog she saw. Within two hours, we were calmly walking and standing next to dogs that were within a foot of her, even sniffing her, and she was completely relaxed. The transformation was honestly remarkable. I think some people may misunderstand firmness, honesty, or structure as being "mean," especially when dealing with difficult dog behaviors, but there is a huge difference between abuse and someone confidently leading both owner and dog. My experience felt safe, effective, loving, and honestly incredible. For the first time in a long time, I left feeling hopeful and relaxed instead of anxious. I am extremely grateful I trusted my own experience instead of one negative review.

As a first time dog dad, I haven't sharpened my tools around understanding my dogs emotional state and how threatened she feels and how to react or treat such aggression. So its harder for me to empathize and as such know how to handle it. I ran into Josh while walking my dog. I always see him walking his dogs, and they are so well behaved and so focused on him. So, I inquired about their training and he and i scheduled a session. Josh shared tools to improve these behaviors first from a actual tools piece like replacing a harness with a collar and a firm leash rather than a flex leash. Next, he helped me understand the psychological state of my dog and why she does what she does, it was enlightening and helped me better understand Nuggets. Finally, Josh taught me exercises to employ to redirect Nuggets focus to me. I couldn't be more grateful for the service Josh provided. You can tell Josh loves what he does and it shows by how good he is at it. That being said, I struggle to understand how anyone could complain about Bark Busters, my experience was one in which Josh , an incredible professional, was trying to help me be a better dog parent, and for that I am eternally grateful.

I found myself walking at odd hours and constantly crossing the street to avoid other dogs -- it created major walk anxiety for both of us. Before finding Makenzie, I actually tried a board-and-train program at a more corporate facility. Unfortunately, it made little to no difference and ended up being a waste of a couple thousand dollars. Looking back, I really wish I had found Makenzie sooner -- but better late than never. After training with Makenzie, the difference was truly night and day. We can now go on walks without fear, and I've learned the skills and tools to confidently handle situations that used to feel overwhelming. Makenzie also trained Molly for off-leash freedom using an e-collar in a thoughtful, clear, and responsible way. Because of that training, I can safely give Molly more freedom while still knowing she's fully under control -- and she absolutely loves it. Another huge benefit is being able to board Molly with Makenzie when I'm out of town. Knowing she's staying in a home environment with someone I completely trust -- instead of a crowded boarding facility -- gives me so much peace of mind. The ongoing Saturday group classes are another big highlight. They make it clear this isn't just a one-time training -- it's continued support. We're always brushing up on skills, and it's been great connecting with other people who've gone through her program. It truly feels like a supportive community. Training with Makenzie has completely changed my life with Molly. I'm so grateful for the progress she's made and couldn't recommend her more.

From the very beginning, she took us in and made us feel so comfortable being part of her program, which meant so much as someone new to all of this. She took the time to understand both me and my dog, and her knowledge and guidance have made such a difference in our journey. She helped me recognize what my dog truly needs, not just in training, but in having safe and healthy outlets for his energy and instincts. She also helped me adjust my dog's training in a way that he responds so much better, which has been a huge breakthrough for us. We also joined her group classes, which are really fun and interactive. They've helped us gain a better understanding of what we need to continue learning and growing so we can become the best version of ourselves for our dog. What stands out the most is how much she genuinely cares. She treats my dog like her own, and that kind of dedication is something you don't find everywhere. She is incredibly kind and loving, and she's always available to answer any questions I have no matter how small while always making me feel comfortable reaching out. I'm beyond grateful for her support, patience, and passion. She's not just a trainer--she's been a huge part of helping me become the dog owner I hoped to be. I highly recommend Makenzie at Peak Performance Dog Training to anyone looking for someone who truly cares and knows what they're doing.
