Unfortunately, I had to edit my drafted five star review down to a four star review because I feel like I was bait and switched. We are relatively new to OC Pup Scouts starting in Dec 2025, and have gone through the temperament assessment and puppy training, but now that we've "graduated" to the pack walks, they've changed their prices and increased them 10%. Seemingly nominal, but this should have been disclosed or at least acknowledged upfront when asking about the program and pricing. The walkers and admin have been great, and my pup seems to really enjoy the walks. It's just feels a little icky that they probably knew about the price increase and conveniently left it out when vetting the business. Maybe I just had unlucky timing with it, because they did say this price increase was the "first in years". I get it, cost of living goes up. I just wish they had been honest and upfront about it (or at least honor their quoted pricing for another quarter or two), hence the removal of a star. I was looking for a service where my pup could safely interact and socialize with other dogs, not necessarily for the walk itself, so I found what I thought would be a good pick in OC Pup Scouts. The pack walk services are great. The handlers all seem friendly and genuinely nice people. They will pick up your pup from your chosen location and drive them in a van to a park where they embark on an hour long walk at a time. I especially love that they provide you an update/pictures of their walks. The pups all seem to enjoy their time together. There have been a few last minute schedule changes that range from a few minutes to an hour delay, but they've been pretty consistent about communicating these. This is also to be expected when your clients are... well dogs, but I only mention it to warn others to be flexible. Overall, I'm satisfied with the services rendered. I am happy I found OC Pup Scouts, and would be happy to recommend them for their pack walks. Hoping that the prices remain stable for the foreseeable future, and they don't pull a Spotify and jack them up every year. read more

Let me also provide some context. Catalina came in and stated that she read my notes and understood the dogs were a flight risk . I also put flight risk tags on both leashes. My notes also stated I wanted their leashes in a figure 8 over their nose. Which she seemed to not read that part. It was MY decision to put the dogs in the front seat after she let one run loose because I was worried for their safety. My dogs, which you determined had too much anxiety for pack walks, are pack walking happily and confidently with an experienced private walker who works with Cesar Milan. OC Pup Scouts is amazing! My dog loves going on there half the group locks, and when I have a long day, the full day outings. Pup Scouts were so thoughtful in helping my dog Astrid get over her anxiety and stress about being around new and bigger dogs and let her ride in the front seat the first day. By the end of the day, she was in back with her new besties. At first I thought I should fine just a solo walk, because it would be less expensive and there wouldn't be other dogs. But dogs are social creatures and they really do need this interaction. I think of it like spending my dog on a field trip with her friends. She loves it! And I have never had an issue with them coming in and out of my place. OUR PUP DIED UNDER THEIR CARE September 27, 2022 we lost our beautiful healthy 2 year old Bordeaux to heat stroke under their care. He was schedule for an 8am pick up for 45 min walk with our frenchie. 2 hours and 45 minutes later we received a call from the walker that he was down having a heat stroke. I advised her to call 911 and I arrived 7 minutes later. I found him in direct sunlight along the street gutter/ curb in front of the van panting and over heated. His head was down in the gutter with no management of airway or assistance. His cinch leash still tight around his neck. No effort to move him out of the sun. The walker did not seem frantic or crying or even flustered. I immediately asked if she asked for any help - she said no . I ran and knocked on the neighbors doors and 4 neighbors came to assist - cool towels to place under his arms and belly. We moved him into my car and In less than 10 min of my arrival I was able to get him to an emergency vets front door which was less than 1 mile away-! LESS THAN 1 MILE ! ...He arrived at the vet with a 108.9 temp. Every effort was made to help Jango but unfortunately fell unconscious with signs of DIC (a clotting cascade ) were taking in effect . 'he was exposed just too long ' was the vets comments . We were forced to allow our beautiful pup to cross rainbow bridge . Ocpupscouts failed on so many levels. I asked upon arrival how long he had been down ' 'since 10:10 /10:15 was her comment . I got the call approx 10:45. He layed in direct sunlight for likely much longer directly. Jango likely attempted to find shade or lay down multiple times prior to his collapse . No attempt to receive help to move him out of the sun. Multiple neighboring homes were less than 15 feet away- not one knock. Not one 'I need help'. No attempt to provide him basic first aid. No action plan. They failed to call us at any point prior to notify us of a concern or to come pick him up if he wasn't doing well. We lived one mile from the beach - they took him and our frenchie inland that day - almost 10-12 miles. This company e advertises per their words 'extensively trained dog handlers' - a company that offers overnight stays , obedience training .. . All that was done in this moment was watch him suffer...no basic first aid, not even any basic care . To any current client - Ask your self this - if my pet had a medical emergency in their care what would happen? A beautiful healthy 2 year old gorgeous DDB left our home that morning never to return. Ocpupscouts countlessly posts how safe your dog is and how their wellness is their priority. They state they have protocols in place. Their staff is trained . Jango is proof that that is not the case. Sadly the company has not mentioned one thing regarding this event - in fact the walker was walking pups the rest of that week and continues to work for that company. Jangos death was 100% preventable on so many levels - and at so many points... and frankly any course of action from the company could have changed this outcome. This review is for awareness, This review is to hopefully help prevent this happening to another pup . We had Jango for 12 months - he had so much more life to live and memmories to have . He was one of the most stunning DDBs this breed has seen - not only physically but personality wise- the gentlest of giants and the biggest goofball. Our frenchie misses his buddy. He was family . We miss him tremendously. I will never forget the look he gave me just before he lost conciousness .. I will never .. such horrible senseless suffering for such a beautiful animal that could have been prevented on so many levels by this company . read more

Evan the trainer is phenomenal. My dog was starting to get aggressive with food, more anxious on walks, and I was worried for the future. It was getting to the point where I had to use a broom and stand on a table to get the wrapper away for fear he might bite me. Evan in one session showed me basic tools to begin with. A well deserved review! My Belgian Malinois, Mason, has been attending hour long pack walks 2-3x a week for 3 weeks now and I am in awe at how much better he is at home, JUST from the walks with our pack leaders. So far I have met Sammy, Hayley, and Katrina and they have been the best part of the pup scouts. As im sure each pack leader is, they have been so sweet and patient with my crazy guy. Katrina has been our main pack leader thus far, and I trust her completely with Mason. Trust me, when Mason started with the pup scouts he was insane, now hes a little less but his reports have gotten better each week. The report cards at the end of the walk are so awesome to see. While I really liked everyone one I met who came over to walk our dog, I'm a little bummed as I just got a message that they can only take dogs now who are booked on a weekly basis. A weekly basis gets very expensive and doesn't fit our needs. Once a month, sure, but not once a week. Anyway, they do a nice job and hire nice people but I wish they would reevaluate this new rule.
