Had a really great experience at Halal Kitchen Cafe. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care--everything tasted authentic and comforting. What really stood out though was the service. There's an elderly Afghani lady there who is incredibly sweet and welcoming. She makes you feel right at home, like you're being taken care of by family. That kind of warmth is rare and makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'd come back to again. Mecca pic was nice to inside the restaurant.

Amazing food and Service! The woman who works there is the sweetest and even brought complimentary tea.

Funny name for a restaurant that dealing with God Halal as per the name they picked for their business, I think their name was to scam people and make them order and they discover how they will mislead you!! Today I ordered meat with okra or Bamia with meat and guess what they replaced the meat with junk fat inside the Bamia or Okra stew..one spoon in the food made me throw up..ugly food and ugly fraud restaurant..Stay away from these peopl

Delicious!! We brought our Afghan friends here and it was perfect because we needed halal food. Not only was it Halal, but it was so yummy!! I would give it 5 stars but it was so pricey, I just wish it was slightly cheaper. (They range about $19-22 per a plate) The lady was very friendly and did everything herself! She was so generous and brought out a soup for us to sample because she heard us talking about it (that we wanted to try because a friend said they would make it for us sometime). The decor has lots of cool pics from Afghanistan and one special one of Mecca.

Chicken kobida pita and afghani rice (small!), so yummy

The woman working (owner?) was so sweet and was the only one working when I went in. I asked her recommendation between a couple sandwiches and went with it. The chicken kobida pita was so good, it is covered in sauce but it was perfect. And the rice was so good I had to finish it all even though it was so much food. I can't wait to go back and enjoy my meal there and try something new :)

Lamb Bukhari (Lamb Shank) , over rice ! Amazing! Prolly my fav from the whole menu!!!

Dined in here super last minute right before Iftar. Definitely worth the sit down. Great food . Had the Lamb Bukhari, the meat was so tender it was falling off the bones ! The rice was amazing with the side of yogurt and green sauce . The person that took our order was super sweet as she knew we were fasting she gave us some Dates and got our food in just in time. Definitely a go back. If you're in the area for a good Lamb Shank! This is the spot , give them a try you won't regret it !

When I won the lamb shank I always come here the best lady with the best Afghani food. Do you know when the place is good if you keep coming back. How old is sort of the same thing and it's all the same quality same taste that's what I like about this place

Albert didn't bat an eye lash and assured her that he would make a special meal for her. Then he turned to the other 3 at our table and asked if we would like him to prepare a special meal for us to enable us to share plates and experience a variety of meats and sides. We ended up with an amazing spread of meats, stews, several rice dishes, salad and vegetables and took home enough food for at least 3 meals. And the special dinner for our friend on the restricted diet was indeed delicious and truly a feast. Our total bill including wine and tax and tip came to about $40 pp. Given the quality and abundance of food and the amazing service, this was a very reasonable price. My friends and I highly recommend this place.

Location 4 stars: NE corner of Tampa and Roscoe in Northridge, CA. Free self parking in the strip mall where the restaurant is located and limited street parking. Venue 3 stars: Basic and unassuming, larger venue with indoor seating. Service 5 stars: Friendly and helpful. Food 5 stars: Excellent Persian food, ranging from appetizers to kabobs and traditional stews and rice to dessert. I highly recommend the Eggplant Borani appetizer, the Shirazi Salad, the Filet Mignon Kabob (a.k.a. Barg), the Ground Beef kabob (a.k.a. Koobideh) and the boneless chicken kabob. The Barg and Koobideh kabobs can also be made with chicken instead of beef and are equally delicious. You can get the kabobs with the traditional Lavash bread or with a variety of rice options (plain white rice or with sour cherries, barberries, green beans, lentils, etc.). Don't skip on the grilled tomatoes that make everything taste even better! The stews and desserts are also very good. Drinks 4 stars: Soft drinks, Doogh (Yogurt soda which goes really well with Persian kabob and rice), Tea, Coffee, and as of recently beer and wine.

I was looking for a new SFV Kabob place and came up with Ash's Grill on Tampa and Sherman Way. It…read moreis located in a small strip mall, with only six tables for inside dining. Three of them have two chairs each, while the others have 4 chairs. The menu is laminated and comes with numerous mediterranean dishes, and yes, there are kabobs. I chose the beef lule kabob entree, that comes with two minced kabobs, rice, grilled tomato, jalapeno and a very small cucumber tomato salad, some hummus too, all plated together. I also ordered their thick yoghurt with shallots to accompany the menu item. The Kabobs were grilled to order, could have used more flavor and were slightly overcooked. Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow. I would go there specially to get the lentil soup alone, to go. Service here was high class, attentive and friendly. Definitely, worth a repeat visit.
