You can really tell this place is all about quality and community. I'll definitely be making more trips to Cranford, Perrotti's is truly one of a kind!

This time, I had the beef, lamb, and chicken kebabs. I love lamb and these were excellent. My only issue is that I never get an itemized receipt so when someone asks me what I paid for a specific item, I don't always know. I picked up a container of the red potato salad for the first time after a friend raved about it. Good choice Jeff!

I am the type to update reviews by taking what I had previously and adding my edits. You'll notice…read morethis has gone from 4 stars to 5 stars. What changed? * As noted last time, this is definitely Northern style barbecue here. I had said before it's not very BBQ inside, but I'll reframe that. You still absolutely get friendly service and not a very long wait. * I said before the meats are clearly prepared previously and just warmed to the order. I don't think I'll say that again. The meats were perfectly done, moist throughout, perfectly seasoned and smoky on the outside. * When I had gotten the two-meat plate, the brisket fell apart on my fork. The pulled pork was the opposite of what I expected - in fact, I'm wondering if they gave me pork or chicken now that I think about it... but it was good. Didn't occur to me at the time, but that might explain some of the taste and appearance. * This time, I got the ribs. A half rack of ribs filled me up, and YUM. Some ribs fell off the bone a little more than others, but oh boy was that perfectly good. My parents loved their chicken and brisket. * I think they read my review about how much meat you get for what you pay. It's not cheap here, but we all felt that we got a good amount of meat, mac 'n' cheese, or whatever else we ordered. It's great when a place listens! * Last time they upcharged me a dollar to swap cole slaw for cornbread. This time they gave me chipotle BBQ instead of regular BBQ without any charge at all. So again, maybe they read and responded! Still loving the flavors, textures, sauces, cornbread, and mac. This is a winner and earned the fifth star - we're all coming back!

With the food standing on its own, maybe between 3 and 4 stars. From what we tried, would rank the pulled pork first, then the burnt ends, and then the brisket. The pulled pork was smoky and had great flavor and not many fatty pieces. The burnt ends had a lot of flavor (maybe a little too slathered in sauce), but too much fat in the pieces we were given. The brisket too dried out for my taste - have had much better and would definitely not order it again. The restaurant looks great inside - great paintings on the walls, signage, etc. Puts you in a BBQ mindset! My biggest issue was that the staff made us feel a bit uncomfortable there. It's weird, because they were SO friendly to their regulars. But so friendly to the point that when they were so emotionless and dismissive to us, that we felt like we did something wrong and weren't welcome there. Unfortunately with the first experience we had, hard to become a regular to get the better treatment!

I love their tuna salad, it's creamy, moist, and it has that Italian style aroma above your standard deli salads . I love their cutlets, and can't go wrong with a nice liverwurst sandwich. They don't get five stars because of the overpriced meats such as cutlets which are usually slimey, and the old lady cashier who does not make me and my wife feel safe. The macaroni salad is cheap and great, it's vinegary and TANGY- just how I like my salads. There is a little fella who walks around with an ear piece and he makes me feel safe. They have a lot of interesting sandwiches to choose from. They caught my eye because they use focaccia for some of them which I love any opportunity to have it . I ordered a tuna on focaccia with mixed greens and peppers on the side . Tuna was slightly disappointing. It was missing a little twang/bite I might recommend a jalapeño relish which I use at home when I make it. I also ordered the ranchers roast beef and cheddar cheese, which also needed a little pick up me up also Maybe a twangy horseradish mayo. I also ordered the red white Italian, which is on focaccia bread, which was a very hearty sandwich loaded with chicken breast and roasted peppers. The sandwich needs to be eaten fairly quickly as the focaccia gets slightly soggy. we also ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which unfortunately didn't have much buffalo taste according to my husband. Minus these few flavor factors for me. The sandwiches in general were very good prices were slightly high, but the serving size was adequate for the pricing. Staff was super friendly. And I love how they have their routine getting all the orders out. They have a good amount of seating inside if you want to eat there. They also have a large variety of chips and drinks also . Definitely worth giving them a try !

To the right is a seating area. I wound up ordering the Red & White Russian which includes Roast Beef, Turkey, Swiss, Horseradish, Deli Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. You can have it pressed by request but I did not do so. I also ordered a side order of macaroni salad. The Red & White Russian was really good! The size was perfect and the bread was soft and chewy. There was a good amount of meat and cheese and I really liked the mustard and horseradish flavors. The macaroni salad was great. I would definitely get both of these again! I'm glad I made it a point to stop at Al's and I plan to do so again in the future!

We got the Parmesan truffle waffle fries, and the cheese gnocchi, and I recommend both. Desert was epic!!! We got the grasshopper Sunday to share, and ended up ordering another it was so good. Service was also outstanding, but at the end there was a lot of seatings in our section, so we waited about 15 minutes for our check. I requested for fresh fries because we picked up late, and the bald guy always cutting up meat there, seems to be operating under some form of substance as he let out a tirade on me about he would be out of business if he's giving out fresh fries. I requested that he takes the fries out, he said no but I can take it out and he would trash it for me, I opted to do that and immediately ediately I took the fries out on tge counter on laminated menu so that it van be thrown out, the guy snatched the food out of my hand and yelled at me that he's walking me out and I told him not to touch me as he was about to drag me out as he held on to my order. After I refused,to follow him out, he walked outside and threw my food out on as shown in the picture and then refused to refund my money because it was paid from online order. I called the cops and typical of Wayne Police Officer to always favored the white race, the police immediately started to antagonize me and told me it's civil. I asked him if it would be a civil if I take the food out without paying and Officer said that would be considered shoplifting, shouldn't the reversal of it be treated exactly as that would be. I had to stand my ground for the Officer not to put his hands on me as he was also trying to forcefully remove from the premise when my meal was thrown out by this person that insisted on not refunding my money back and cops was also about to punish the black girl fir having the audacity to call for help, when cops are supposed serve and protect. Please abstain from Pete's meat if you can, this is not an experience anyone should have to go through. That bald guy, I don't know if he's the owner but there's been no time I'm there that he doesn't seem like he's operating under the influence of something. I've been there before when he was raving about the importance of weed to another employee, it seems that weed is having negative effect on him, as no business-minded person would treat their customer like that over an order of fries. He could have offered to put it back in the oil to get it hot again in lieu of fresh fries and that would have been greatly appreciated but not this terrible experience. PLEAE BEWARE!!!
