I have lived in Staten Island for at least 36 years now and have quite often passed Belifiore Meats by because it wasn't in my neighborhood, but that has now changed. I went into this wonderful store and found that this is easily the best part of Staten Island food shopping and I will return repeatedly in the future. I bought the flounder and fell in love. Delicious steaks I always get the shell steak Prices may be just a little higher but every where is basically the same in that aspect. nice ladies at the register also friendly staff When you spend $50 dollars or more you get a free reusable shopping bag you may need to ask for it sometimes the ladies at the register don't suggest them so just ask them ! They pay their workers well because they must have about a dozen employees working around the clock in that tiny storefront. When I saw so many positive reviews from locals here on Yelp, I just knew I had to come here. I was not disappointed! I ordered a pastrami sandwich on rye, ham and cheese wraps, fried priosciutto balls, mac and cheese, a loaf of brick oven wheat bread, and spinach quiche. I enjoyed it all. The staff were friendly, the amount of choices available were numerous, and I was given a significantly above-average amount of meat in my sandwich and the wraps. Honestly, what else can you ask for? They also offer delivery service (I saw their van out making a delivery on the day before I stopped in) and they have a nice grocery store inside. Great old time Deli. The decor was clean and well organized. I was happy with the positive and polite customer service. The food was delicious. My cold cuts were cut perfectly. Delicious food-best catering! Had catering from here on Saturday and I absolutly love their food. My company used them for the Holiday party and all I have to say is WOW and I couldn't wait to use them myself. Eggplant rolatini is the best! Everyone was looking for seconds. Good sandwiches, but when you get a foreign object in your rice ball such as a piece of METAL that breaks your tooth you should think about eating elsewhere. So I bring in this piece of metal and show it to the manager and he downplays it to an extent that only pissed me off even more. I told him I was sharing this rice ball with my son and thank goodness I had found the prize instead of my son who could of possibly choked on this metal object. He asked me if I wanted a refund ? That's it? No apologies? No complimentary mozzarella or something ? A simple kind gesture like that would have been sufficient. Instead he tries to embarrass me by shouting across to the cashier in front of the entire store to "refund this guy his 10 dollars" like I was being a jerk. First time at Belfiore based on the raves, and I really wanted to love it. But I couldn't, unfortunately. Bought some sausage, which should be the crown jewel of any Italian meat specialist. Got it home and unwrapped the same day and that funky over-the-hill meat smell hit me as soon as I opened the package. That's as far as I got-it was a throwaway. Everything behind the counter did look great-various pastas, salads, potato croquettes (a rarity) but those sausages were really a bummer. I also bought a tuna salad sandwich on rye bread. The tuna was excellent and the bread was too, but there was so little tuna, it looked like a child's peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Bought a Melone Brothers bread that was terrific, still warm from the oven. A shame about those salsicce, but they should always be impeccably fresh at a place like this, and the fact that they weren't makes me wonder about the consistency of their other meat products. read more

This place is amazing! I called to see if they could cater a dinner last minute after hearing of a family member passing and they went above and beyond to accommodate my request! I called around 3:30pm yesterday and they said they would gladly prepare 4 trays of hot food that would be delivered between 4:30pm and 5pm that evening! There aren't many businesses these days that will go out of their way especially at the end of the day...I really appreciate their compassion and understanding and I hope that they stay around forever! I'm at this place at least 5 times a week. The cold cuts are great and the homemade turkey is better than boars head. The food that already prepared is always delicious and perfect on a busy day when cooking will be time consuming. I recommend the fried chicken and pulled pork to try.
