Mixed review here. I really like both of the staff left at this salon, but I am super frustrated with my last cut. I work in the medical field and wear my hair back in a braid to keep it neat and tidy 5-6 days a week. Knowing this, I was nervous about getting a cut, but the ends were getting very long and scraggly so I really needed to. I was worried that it might be cut too short to work well in my braid, so I actually wore it into the salon in the braid I wear at work, and specifically showed the gentleman how I wore it and explained that all I really cared about was that I could still keep it in that braid style. I told him you could take off as much as he wanted as long as it would continue to work in that style. My cut ended up super cute. I cannot complain about how it looks when I'm wearing it down. Honestly probably the cutest haircut I've had in years. However... You guessed it, he cut it short enough that the sides and top will no longer stay back in the braid, no matter how tightly I weave it. Additionally, he did enough texturing that I have chunky bits that stick out all along the tail of the braid, even when freshly braided. It is just hair, and I know it will grow out long enough that I can achieve a lasting braid again within a few months, but since this was the one concern I brought to him, I'm very disappointed. Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to get rid of the texture chunks other than growing it all out and having someone else cut it more evenly. So I would say, if you don't have a particular need you need nut, this is a great place to go to get a cute cut. On the other hand, if you have a need that you absolutely need that, I'm not sure I would go back. read more

Not gonna name names but damn my guy did me dirty today. Back and sides were horrible, I've never seen anything like what he did with the sides honestly. It looked like my hair was doing 5 different things depending on the angle you were at. Not like it was a quick cut either I somehow spent 40 minutes there and the back of my head looked untouched aside from the middle which was sloppy as hell. Left it dripping wet due to the shampoo rinse (I didn't realize I was paying for it and was definitely good without) so I didn't fully realize the damage until I got home. I was pissed but didn't have time to go get it fixed I had to go straight to work. I got this haircut for the vacation I leave for in the morning the next day as well, only adding to my frustration. Upon arrival my manager was horrified, shocked, mostly in awe of what had been done to me. My co-workers tried to be nice but were ultimately like "wtf is on your head man why did you do that."Ultimately my manager insisted on fixing it before any customers saw and feared for their life. She did a pretty good job with what she was given to work with. But yeah not going back here again, maybe it was just that guy but he gave me an all-time bad haircut. I just called to verify if a haircut without a shampoo was a different cost, and was informed it was the same.. i said i might call back to schedule and was hung up on. Simplest things can really deter people away from businesses, i personally would have appreciated even a minor "okay thank you" or perhaps "okay goodbye" anything like that. read more

I have been here a countless number of times and have allowed a variety of the stylists employed there to cut my hair. After trial and error, I was paired with Andrea. She is phenomenal! I have only had Andrea cut my hair for about a year, until recently, I wanted a big change and she wasn't in the day I requested. I decided to have her sister, Angela cut my hair, and she is just as great! I would recommend either of those two if you want someone to listen to your wants/needs and ACTUALLY apply them to your cut. This is an affordable place with both good and bad hair stylists. It takes a couple tries to find the stylist for you, and I'm glad I stuck it out to find the stylists for me. Thank you Andrea and Angela for caring and being great at your job! read more

I went to this place last Sunday, and they were pretty busy. The man that was available took me back, and asked if I just wanted a trim. I said yes, and that I was trying to grow it out. He shaved my undercut with no issue and then he shampooed my hair. When I got back in the chair, he started cutting and asked about layers. I said I wanted a soft layer so it wouldn't be so blunt around my jaw, and that I didn't want bangs either because I had outgrown that phase. This man did not seem to hear me because he gave me a layer that was 3 inches higher than the rest of my hair and also cut it straight across so it's super blunt. It looks like I have bangs now! The way my hair falls now, it looks choppy and uneven, and now I can only part it one way. Before it was smooth, it framed my face nicely and I could part it any way I wanted. I will never go back to this place and they'll probably see me with pictures before and after I get my hair fixed on Friday. read more

Walked in for a quick touch up to lighten the volume of my hair. Was taken in right away by Judy, I wasn't asked for a shampoo but Judy did a nice job texturizing it. After was floored that I was charged $35 without a shampoo or style or been told what the price would be first. (I should have held out for my regular Salon stylist (not HairMasters) who charges $40 for a complete haircut with the works). Was definitely ripped off. I expressed how I was overcharged and 2 days later by calling in to ask about quotes which there was hesitation. That person became curt and snarkly when I asked for price adjustment after I explained what happened. Won't ever walk in there again as Lonnie did my hair a couple times. Prices have gotten outrageous and so was the attitude of the person that answered the phone. Don't take shortcuts. read more

I called to ask questions about a perm. Person I spoke to had no idea what a "digital perm" is and sounded impatient to answer my questions. I'd recommend this place do some more research on perms before having it as a "service" when you can't even answer any questions about the "service". When I scheduled over the phone I asked a very important question; "do any stylists have experience with curls?" I was told "we have 34 years of experience" so I put my beautiful curls in their hands. I was in tears the second I left the building. A years worth of growth was cut when I specifically said "I'm trying to grow it out" my stylist was friendly but I am absolutely devastated with my hair. I would've much rather been told "I'm sorry, I'm not experienced with curls" than to leave in tears. As a stylist, when you are asked about curl experience it's because the client has dealt with devastation in the past & I knew I was going to be devastated when I saw the amount of hair fall with the first snip. My hair is easily 6" shorter now when it's dry. I will never be returning. read more

Had my hair cut by these guys for years, granted I didn't always get the same stylist but I was never disappointed! I came in multiple times for a TON of work: a cut, a bleach, and to dye my hair red. I can't remember my stylists name but he was great. I had two appointments and they were honored on time, both times he was fun to talk to and pass time with, and in the end my hair looked SO fantastic we were all taking pictures. I had the emo cut (before it was emo, almost twelve years ago) where the front was long and it was spiked in the back, and asked that he dyed the tips a dark red, with red streaks through the long part. It was beautiful. I came in for the same treatment twice in four years. More to the present, I came in not really knowing what I wanted but I wanted lots of layers and a cut that would accent my face. The price was soooooo freaking amazing, especially because I had long hair, the cut was around $25 (I bought hair supply too so it ended up being around $55 total) and I'm still sooo happy with my cut! I posted pics of my cut. Called manager, who needed to talk to the stylist (Faith) first then call me back in order to tell me if I can get a refund. Went to the store, manager was gone. 2 stylists there (1 red head, 1 woman of color). I asked them if they thought it was a messed up cut. I could tell by the look on their faces (raised eyebrows, mouth open) that they thought so but wouldn't "say yeah sorry that's must up let us fix it". Instead the red head was like a robot saying she can try and fix it. I asked how long she'd been doing hair and she refused to answer?? Red flag! I'm crying by the way this whole time because I know Ill have to get a lot cut off to even this mess out. I take my refund and get in my car parked right in front of the shop window and the 2 stylists are laughing. LAUGHING!! If i could give a zero, i would. Don't ever get your hair cut by a man named Lonnie. i showed a picture of what i wanted TWICE and he gave me a mullet/ bowl-cut when i wanted curtain bangs and layers. I have two choppy layers and bangs above my eyebrows that are no where to be seen in the reference. Made islamophobic comments and said he added the bangs because he "thought it would go better with the hairstyle" oh sorry i was unaware that showing a reference meant do what you think looks best. Not only are the bangs totally not what i wanted and showed but the length is literally so much shorter, and he never asked or got approval for these "changes" he was asked if he was able to do and said yes but clearly he can't because the hairstyle i have right now is the worst i've ever had. the picture showed hair past the shoulders and yet the hair i have right now is basically at my ears. and the way he styled it reminded me of a grandma. He asked if i liked it and i told him it literally looked nothing like the picture and he blamed it on my hair being thick.. don't you think it would be best to make me aware it would look different before you changed the style completely and gave me a bowl-cut with bangs and choppy layers? i have never had hair this short if I'm being honest he shouldn't be doing hair. i asked for an easy style and he completely butchered it. read more

Faith gives me the best haircut I've ever had. I've always been pretty picky about my haircut and nervous anytime I try a new place/hairstylist. She listened to me and considered my lifestyle and grooming habits before picking up the scissors. My haircut looks great and is easy to style daily. Back to school cuts for my kiddos is what I expected, but I got so much more! I came in with 3 kids, all of which have had daily pool/chlorine exposure all summer. Their hair was in need of some serious help. Two of my girls have straight hair which was quickly washed, conditioned, and trimmed. They are happy as can be. My third daughter has extremely curly hair (which I have no idea what to do with). It has been ritually put up in a bun after swimming, this has lead to nearly dread like chunks of hair. I was at a loss of what to do. I wasn't expecting all the kindness and help that was coming. My daughter's stylist was so sweet, she quickly assessed the situation and came up with a solution. After she started the process 3 of the other stylist came over and helped to get rid of the tangles. Each one of them was so nice to my daughter. I can't thank them enough for the time they took to help. Not only did they get rid of the tangles but they shared information about how to manage her hair daily. I appreciate this soooo much. I love this place and so do my kids!! I wish it was closer to where we live. I plan on making this our normal salon. read more

I got my hair cut and highlighted there when they had the $25 sale on highlights. Everything was going fine I told her not to dry my hair I was in a hurry. When my fiancé picked me up I brushed my hair I kept getting hair in my brush. I felt like when I was done it was a handful of hair that came out. Worst haircut in my life. Over 5 inches of length wasted and gone. I would sue this place if I could. I will never patronize this salon again. You definitely get what you pay for, and sometimes not even then. I had been growing my hair out since September 2012 and it was very long and in very good condition, but needed to have a little clean up. Any place should be able to handle that, right? Well, no. I asked to not have much taken off the ends and to have a layer or two added. My hair was still wet went I left and and I already knew too much was cut, but I didn't complain. Went home and straightened it and discovered over an inch of difference between one side to the other and one layer cut into the hair that made it look like someone had taken a pair of hedge trimming shears and whacked it. The layer as well was over an inch off from one side to the other. The back of my hair was cut in sort of a V-shape; thus successfully removing the length except the point in the middle. I called and returned to the shop and the manager spent quite a bit of time trying to fix my chopped up hair. She did a good job fixing it, but in this process I have LOST 5 to 6 INCHES OFF THE LENGTH OF MY HAIR and that is a tremendous amount. What took about a year and half of growth was destroyed in minutes and I am absolutely furious and deeply disappointed because I now have to start all over again. Beware of places like this with hack stylists who have no idea what they are doing. If your hair is a big priority for you like mine is to me, listen to your inner voice and pay the price and go to a professional. read more
