I have been going to Kathy for nearly 20 years. I have followed her where ever she has gone! This is a amazing nail salon! recommend!​​

I called to ask if they were available for a dip mani. They said yes and to come in. I arrived about 7 mins later as I live very close. They made me wait 25 mins before someone worked on my nails. The first woman took off my previous dip and sanded the nail beds. Then, she gave me to a different woman for the next steps. I had already told her I did not want that woman as she had done my nails previously and they were lumpy and had a black speck on one nail that I saw and told her that wasn't supposed to be there and she said you wouldn't be able to see it when we were done but when we were done you could see it plain as day and when I asked her to redo that nail, she said she couldn't see anything and the nail was fine. So, I told the woman I would rather have someone else do the finishing of the nails this time. She then sanded my nails some more for the prep and I had to wait an additional 30 mins for another woman to be available. No problem, a good set of nails is worth the wait. Overall, it took them 2 hours to do nails that shouldn't have taken more than 70 mins. Normally, my nails last 3 weeks and the only thing forcing me to get them redone at that time is the grow out. 6 days after getting my nails dipped, the tips and sides started to peel away from the dip and the top coat started to peel off. I was out of town and couldn't go back to the salon until day 10, and by that time 3 of my nails had the tips ripped off completely from snagging on stuff. Keep in mind these are my real nails. I've been having my nails dip mani for over 4 years straight and this has never happened. This was caused by lack of experience and expertise when prepping and finishing my nails. When I finally went into the salon to show the manager my nails, she said that happens with real nails. Ummm, no it doesn't. It's never happened to me. I asked for her to remove the remaining product from my nails and provide me a refund of my $70 I paid. She said refunds were against their policy but she would have someone fix them. I had already had everyone at her store do my nails at some point and none of them were worth $70 and 2 hours of my time. So no thanks on your sub par service. Ultimately, she chose to not give me a refund and told me she would prefer I leave a negative review of her business. I was very disappointed in her choice of outcome. read more

Tried a new place for pedicure and was not overly impressed. I made and appointment after making sure they could accommodate my specific needs. I was greeted by voice by busy workers, told to pick color. After a short wait I was shown to a chair . No one asked what kind of pedicure , offered water or anything else. The pedicure proceeded quietly with almost no conversation until the end . I was told to wait for nails to dry . After 15 minutes I started to get up and someone came to help me. I went to desk , paid and said good bye. At that time other workers in the shop did say goodbye. Nothing terrible , just not welcoming or informative . The pedicure was ok, the help I asked for was given but not done as well as could have been . I won't go back. read more

Really Disappointed in This Nail Salon My friend and I visited this nail salon to get our nails done, and I specifically asked for French tips. When I sat down, the technician asked about my current nails, and I explained they were my natural nails. She began working, but when she went to apply polish, I stopped her and clarified that I wanted my nails longer. It seemed there was some confusion as she thought I only wanted a manicure. If I had wanted just a manicure, I would've done it myself at home and saved $50. What upset me most was her response--she got up and walked away without saying a word, leaving me sitting in the chair for 30 minutes with no communication from anyone. I almost left because I felt disrespected and ignored. However, I stayed because that's not the kind of person I am. Eventually, I asked what was going on, and another employee, who spoke fluent English, came over and asked what I wanted. I explained again that I wanted French tip nails of a specific length. She responded that the first technician couldn't do that and insisted that wasn't what I had originally asked for. I tried to clarify that there had been a misunderstanding, but the situation was already frustrating. She informed me it would cost $65 for what I wanted, which was higher than I had anticipated, but I reluctantly agreed. After waiting another 15 minutes, I was directed to a different technician at chair nine. This technician had 16 years of experience and was incredibly professional, kind, and detail-oriented. She did an amazing job on my nails, and they looked fantastic. At this point, I felt like things were finally going well. However, when I went to check out, the total bill came to almost $80--far above the $65 I was initially quoted. To make matters worse, I was asked for a tip on top of this. I was deeply upset. If the price had stayed at $65 as promised, I would have tipped happily. But seeing the price jump again without any explanation felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. While I absolutely loved the end result and appreciated the skill of the second technician, the lack of communication, the initial disrespect I experienced, and the sudden price increase have left me with serious reservations about ever returning. I want to come back for the quality of the work, but the frustration over how I was treated and the inconsistent pricing makes it unlikely. read more

Well this is my first time in this salon and I was immediately impressed. The amount of colors they have for nails is immense but their so easy to choose from because they have them in these nice little books rather than most salons that have those awful key rings of color that are hard to go through. I got a gel pedi and was a walk in and they saw me immediately. I never use the massage chairs cause they're usually old and not comfortable. This is the first time I've used a massage chair and loved it! The tech was great at removing cuticles from toenails and my calluses. If you bring in a picture of nail art they will do their best to help get you exactly what you want. I plan to come back this Friday for dip on my nails and I'll update my review once I get my hands done too. Update: I went back on Friday and saw Nikki. She was awesome and helped me change my nails to acrylic because I was spending more money on dip and I could get something more shiny that last longer and costs less. What a great deal! I made an appointment for a gel mani/pedi. I was looking for a new salon because I was no longer happy with the one I'd been visiting. What a DIFFERENCE!! This was such a gentle experience-I'm used to getting tiny cuts that take forever to heal because I use my hands a lot at work. Anyway, the place is super chill and relaxing, there was Vietnamese pop music on the TV, and my mani/pedi was done professionally and beautifully! I will DEFINITELY go back! I have been afraid of nail spots in Portland in general I've had a few good places but today I was desperate for a pedicure and I'm so happy I came to Sassy Nails Salon ! It is soooo clean I was a little picky with my shape of nail and my nail tech was so sweet and made sure I got what I wanted. Today Ann and Knee helped me and we're wonderful to my Auntie and myself. The quality is amazing and the establishment is clean!!! They didn't rush us in and out and took their time to give us an amazing pedicure. The owner was really great, salon was very clean and updated but I had a really bad experience with the nail technician. Wen. She would not stop trying to upsell me on more add ons. I told her multiple times I wasn't interested and she wouldn't stop until I told her she was being pushy. Then she kept calling me mean for saying that and trying to justify their costs. Additionally, they give you $5 off ONLY if you leave a 5 star review... bribing. The reviews that are already on this page is a bit misleading... I was told the place opened two months ago. The reviews on here are claiming 10 years of patronage. Something doesn't add up. Either way, i personally wouldn't come back BUT, the owner himself is a really great guy and wish him all the best. Perfect for a last minute pedicure we walked in and they fit me and my friend in no problem

Came here with my friend for pedicures. We're both nail technicians so we were nervous about coming in to a new spot. We called and were able to get in within 30 min! The salon is super cute, looks new and felt super clean. We did not feel rushed during the service and left with our toes looking cute. They also use new files for services! I got the pedicure with the hot stones and was not disappointed. I had gel on from a previous salon and was nervous about them removing the polish prior to starting the service because some technicians will overdrill your toenails and leave them damaged. But they lightly filed the top and removed it by soaking it with cotton balls wrapped in foil. I had Khang (i hope i spelled his name right) for my pedi service and highly recommend him to other customers! He took his time removing my old gel polish, clipping & filing my toenails & did not rush painting my toenails. Will definitely be a returning customer, it's a plus that they are so close to home also! read more

Was just ok. They overbooked and acted surprised when I walked in for an appointment. Didn't get to me for my pedicure until 30 min after my scheduled appointment while I sat with my feet in cool water, but the massage chair made up for it. Paid extra for the hot stone massage. By the time she got to the massage, it was more like a cold stone rub. They were nice and my toes look cute. I will probably go back but I won't pay for any extras. read more
